I was reading the Sunday supplements last night and was delighted to see an article on DLP. When I got to the end of the article, I saw an extra- what's new in Disney section. I almost fell out of bed when I read what they were recommending for WDW.
(you need to scroll down to the end of the article)

Walt Disney World, Florida: Unmissable attractions at the Epcot centre this summer include 'The Living Seas' (the world's largest man-made ocean environment), 'Honey, I Shrunk the Audience' (a 3-D show where you become part of the famous film) - and the nightly firework, laser and flame display 'IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth' set to music in the centre of World Showcase Lagoon. Then at the Animal Kingdom Theme Park you should go early in the day to the Kilimanjaro Safaris in Africa - as the animals are out when it's cooler - and be prepared to get very wet at the Kali River Rapids in Asia, before watching the Festival of the Lion King, a musical extravaganza featuring amazing performers and Lion King characters staged several times a day.

Is this really the best they can come up with?
 No mention of Mission Space???

Now this is a highbrow newspaper- either they have a terrible researcher, or Disney needs to get their PR act together.

Thought I'd share

The Living Seas?

Maybe they didn't mention Mission Space since it's still being tweaked but I'm surprised that Test Track was omitted. I don't have a problem with the Animal Kingdom portion.

But the Living Seas?

Exactly what I thought- the AK portion is OK, but there was to choose Living Seas as the ultimate 'unmissable' draw in the whole of WDW???

Something else struck me- the UK newspapers would get a good deal of advertising revenue for DLP and maybe they have to promote it more than WDW Florida. Oh well, at least I know where I want to go!

who seems more concerned that you CAN'T get a Drink on Main Street! in FLA. And can handle the child dousing her meal with ketchup only after having drinks?

Something tells me that that reporter is not seeing things too SOBERLY!

Did that make a typo???? I thought I must have read that Living Seas was an "unmissable attraction:.... perhaps they meant the opposite?

As for my "unmissable" attractions at Epcot: Test Track, Mission Space, Journey To Your Imagination with Figment (OK, it is my DD's unmissable attraction), Maelstrom, and Illuminations. Runners up include the Land Pavillion, Universe of Energy and (yes, I will admit it) Body Wars ---- I am probably the last human on earth who really likes this ride!;)

Well observed, Scratch42, well observed. And ultimately very sad. From personal knowledge (being one myself :teeth: ), I know some journos can only get through the day with various amounts of alcohol. But to advertise it and stress it so such an extent is just plain shocking. The underlying message seems to be that objective journalism can be overcome with plenty of alcohol, but there's nothing you can do about some journos' professional cynicsm, which is worn by many travel writers like a badge of honour. Very sad.
