And yet another stroller question..

On our next trip DS will be 5 and DD will be 10 months.
I know I need a stroller for the airport and DS usually does not need a stroller, but he may get tired from walking at Disney. I am struggling whether to rent a double stroller or not.

So here are the options I thought may work:

-bring my Uppababy Vista with the board for DS to ride if he is tired,
-get the rumble seat to place DD in it if DS wants to ride in the main seat (expensive!)
- rent a double stroller and bring my umbrella stroller to the airport

I am also planning to being my Ergo (so I could always put DD in it if DS wants to ride in the seat).

We did quite well with our Uppababy on our last trip (DS was 4), I love the way it pushes and did fine being gate checked. I am concerned DD will not nap in an unfamiliar stroller and since we are going in July I know I will need a good canopy. I am also concerned with folding a double to get into the buses (we will be staying at the Swan/Dolphin), since it will be me and the two grandmas on the trip.

thanks for the feedback!

Look at renting a citimini or citimini gt you could also look at the baby jogger summit but it's bigger than the citimini (all doubles not singles).
I know the uppababy love. I loved my vista. It is such a wonderful stroller. I wish they made a true double.
The citiminis are nice to push and easy to fold. Have one grandma each take a kid and you take the stroller

The price of the rumble seat may be close or the same as renting a stroller but one thing to consider is your Vista a 2014 model or older? If so, they have stopped making all of the accessories for it. They only make them for the 2015 model and that rumble seat is not compatible. I luckily was able to find a 2014 rumble seat unsold at a local baby store. I can share the store if you are interested - they do have a website.

My kids will be have about the same age difference next year when we travel and I plan to rent a double citimini gt and use the Ergo through the airport.

The citimini gt has a smaller basket but the recline and shade umbrella are great. I've rented the single GT (wheels similar to Vista) before and it is so much easier to fold and carry then the vista. Could you go to a local baby store and try out folding a double and carrying it if you are worried for the bus?

To be honest, I am betting the 5 yo outlasts the rest of you when it comes to walking!!! I'd just bring the stroller for the 10 mo old. With a 10 mo old - I don't think your days are going to be SLOW long and you aren't going to move THAT fast. I think the 5 yo will be fine without a stroller. Took a 5 yo this past spring myself. No stroller the entire time (9 days). The only complete meltdown was at the airport headed home.

Where are you renting the gt from?
I don't think I can use only the ergo at the airport though, I need a place to hold stuff, since I will be traveling alone with two kiddos.

I guess I narrowed down my options to two:
- Use my Britax blink at the airport, rent a double citi mini or gt for the parks. I think I am going find a store that sells them so I can see how heavy/easy to fold the doubles are.
- Bring the Uppababy Vista for the baby (maybe with the board), and put the baby in the ergo if/when DS wants to ride.

DS is a good walker, in his preschool they do a lot of walking outside/hikes in the woods (for like 2 hours a day), I think he will likely outwalk the grandmas, LOL. We are not going to be spending more than 3-4 hours at a time in the parks anyway.

I rented from Kingdom Strollers last time. I think I picked them because I got a coupon code on their Facebook page. Stroller came with rain cover and an umbrella.

kids have all the energy. the 5 year old will be fine w/o one. remember that they are couped up in the car to the airport, the plane ride, magical express, etc. so it is needed for them to expend their energy.
