Hi everyone, we're home! (and very tired, but trying to last out for 30 more minutes to get body clock back in sync!).

It was the most amazing, tiring, exhilarating, fun-packed trip yet. 22 nights in total, 5 locations (Villa, Hard Rock, Boardwalk, Disney Dream and Wilderness Lodge), and more time packing and unpacking than we will *ever* do again :)

As you'd imagine, the true highlight was the Disney Dream. It was a magical experience, and the look on the kids faces throughout was of wonder and at times, awe. When they saw the ship for the first time, or walked through the main lobby on the first evening and saw characters everywhere, or saw Castaway Cay sliding into view from our massive porthole window. The fireworks at sea on pirate night were just spectacular, and then the pirate stage show afterwards was the icing on the cake (all this after watching Pirates 4 in 3D in the Walt Disney Theatre). The Aquaduck...well, we loved it, especially at night...my son and I rode it 3 times in 10 mins at 11.50 on the last night of the cruise - big thanks to CM Todd in letting us through that very last time :goodvibes

As well as the cruise, there were a great many other wonderful experiences...Blue Man Group at Universal, the atmosphere of the Wilderness Lodge, swimming at close to midnight with my son at the Boardwalk, and just the continual character interaction with my daughter throughout the trip.

I took lots of notes throughout, and will try to do a trip report in the coming weeks that does everything justice. We also have hundreds of photos to sort through, from Photopass, the cruise, and our own cameras.

Until then, just a few pictures from the Dream that make me smile...

Welcome home. That seemed to fly by.

Fantastic photos - what camera do you use, they are really sharp :thumbsup2

Wish I could take credit for these, but they are the official ones from the cruise. I do have a lovely little Canon S90 though which is tiny enough to fit in my pocket, but means I always have it to hand.

Your pics look great, especially the Rapunzel and Flynn shot. I'd love to see some more :) Which resort was your favorite then?

Aw, that's a toughie. I love the Boardwalk, and it's wonderful to be in the centre of the action there, but I think we were all blown away by the beauty and tranquility of the WL. We lucked out with the room location too...if you look at this pic

our room is on the 3rd floor in the centre, overlooking the pool but not so much that it was loud or anything.

Interestingly we all agreed the least favourite was the Hard Rock Hotel. It was a lovely place, just didn't feel quite so special as the two Disney resorts or the cruise ship / private villa. Might have been as our kids are a little younger, too, but good to try these things.

Welcome home! :dance3: You've obviously had a fantastic time. Mind you hard not to with such an exciting itinerary! :goodvibes Looking forward to the photos now (really enjoyed the ones so far). :thumbsup2:

I know what you mean about the Universal hotels. We stayed at the Royal Pacific for the last five days of our holiday after two weeks of the Beach Club, and it was just not the same:sad1: It was a lovely hotel, the rooms were great and the staff were so helpful, but it just wasnt Disney:love:
I think next time we would do Roayal Pacific first and then move on to Beach Club.
Loving the pics, the sea water is soooo blue, and i looove the one of Chip and Dale.

Looking forward to hearing more and seeing some great photos

Thanks everyone. Will try to make a start on report at the weekend, and begin sorting through the 100s of photos! Unfortunately after 1 day back i've had to come to Paris for work (I know, life's tough, isn't it? :)).

Have spent the evening with work colleagues reliving the holiday, and it's made me realise even more what a wonderful trip it was, and how lucky we are to have been able to experience it.

Jet lag / time zone change kicking in...and the +1 hour in France isn't helping :)
