the vmk boys strike back...

we all are aware of the amount of "are u taken" on vmk...
I seem to find this more with girls, then with the guys...
they seem to run up to the first "spikey blonde"... and ask if he wants a girl friend or is taken..

Well today I witnessed quite a scene...

A girl aprroached the boy... asked if he wanted to be her boyfriend...
how does he respond?
"Let me see your magic, I'll be your boyfriend if you give me magic..."

That is funny. I was in VMK Central and that place was like the taken hang out. "Who needs a girl?" "Who needs a boy?" - I had to run out of there real fast. lol

This is too funny- my dh was doing the same just yesterday except he parked in Splash Mountain and waited a several seconds and then boom- the questions started- at first it was kids looking for hidden mickeys or asking him to trade magic or whatever- and he was being helpful- then the little girls all started coming around and he decided to see how persistant they would be.

And he stopped responding to them- they kept asking- a few even fighting among themselves lol and he is sitting back cracking up laughing and I keep pointing out that chances are if our 13yo played the game she'd probably be doing the same thing

Later a few of his friends showed up and they had a group of guys standing around ignoring the girls- I showed up a bit later- (hey got to play fireworks lol) and I went and sat in between them- this one girl who had to have been there waiting for more than 15 minutes- pointed out that they are afk and won't talk to me and that when they get back she is going to ask them out and I should stay away.

I just laughed and said- hey boys want to go to my room? and they disappeared shortly after I did... I'm sure she is still wondering how I did that lol

Yesterday, someone pulled up a trade window. I said hi. Asked what's up? And he responded back, "are you taken?" I said lol and closed the trade window.

I had something funny happen last week. A friend asked me to come to his friend's room. When I first enteredt he room, it was a trade room. Next thing I know, cruecrazy and surfcruiser were in the room. My friend's friend asks us to line up. This trade room had become a cute or boot room...oops. We left in a hurry laughing.

My answer to "Are you taken" in VMK has always been,

"Well, do you have a nice room? Do you have alot of credits and will you buy me shoes, lots of shoes when ever I want them?"

Most times the answer was, "NO WAY, why would I buy you stuff?!"

LoL these are some funny stories but i have to admit in the "BETA" days i had blonde spikey hair and for some reason girls liked it so much in VMK.... I never did do the taken stuff i always thought it was random for RANDOM ppl you dont know come up to you and pretty much ask you out!!!! IDK why ppl still do it because these days you see on the news of ppl getting kidnapped and other things because they btold ppl personal info on the internet and then they end up being missing this is WHY VMK DOEs NOT WANT US TO DO IT!!!
this is what confuses me the most....is why do it if you know ppl do not want you to do it....

I don't believe in the taken stuff. It has to be the dumbest idea thought up on this game, or any MMO. It's like going up to some random person on the street and saying, "Will you be my boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever?"

My DH shared a funny story with me last night. A girl on his friends list has been bugging him about being his girlfriend. He finally got through to her that he has a wife in real life. So she messages him back "so I guess there really is no chance for me then?" LOL! As if she ever really had a chance with him before, married or not!! If she only knew she has been asking an old 43 year old MAN out! LOL!

I was passing through Town Square and clicked on a few players. One signature caught my eye - it said something to the effect that the girl was taken by a tree in Town Square. I wasn't sure how this was possible but being curious I sat down. At first, the girl is just talking to the tree. A boy comes over and starts doing the same. They then start to fight over whether or not the tree is a boy or a girl. The boy then proceeds to chop the tree down. Strange but true!

"Taken" is a creepy term. It sounds so junior-high domestic-abuser-in-training. So possessive.

I enjoy the photosharing site Flickr, but I don't like that on your user profile there, it has a space to describe yourself as "taken" or not. Maybe it is a trailer trash word, idk. It just seems repellent to me, and it was disturbing to find players obsessed with it when I started playing VMK.
