And this is why Diaper Genie is a big problem.,,

Reenforces my point even more. The OP exaggerating that iit takes “at least an hour” is just not accurate
It’s not an exaggeration; it’s a different experience. If you’ve never experienced a transportation delay of any kind, you’re lucky. The real time will probably lie somewhere between the two, but I’ve certainly had it take an hour to get from any given point A to point B at Disney more than once. I’ve had good experiences too, but if it’s your one shot at something, you might want to plan for the worst.

i never said it's impossible for it to take over an hour. but the other person said it always takes at least an hour, which is just false.

According to Disney themselves, it’s 38 minutes via monorails from Epcot to MK. Adding in walking especially if you’re coming from the back of EP, potentially waiting for a monorail, tapping in at MK, you could easily add 20 minutes. I absolutely would side with “at least an hour”. Especially if you need to get somewhere on time.

According to Disney, it’s 40 minutes to MK from the BC. Throw in a 10 min walk to the BC, and you’re also pretty darn close to an hour.

So again, if you are trying to get somewhere, especially something that you paid to be at, I absolutely would want “at least an hour” to get there.

It could be quite accurate.

The vast majority of people leaving Remy would:
- walk to the front of Epcot
- walk up the ramps to the Epcot monorail, wait for it then take it to TTC
- transfer to a second monorail (walk down ramp, back up second ramp, wait, ride to MK)
- scan into MK

This could easily take an hour depending on crowds and monorail waits.

What are you doing and why are you doing it?

The OP was saying with a 6:50pm genie + ride they would "never make it" to fireworks at MK at 8. I am saying that we were faced with this exact situation, with a 7:50pm genie + ride on Remy and MK fireworks starting at 9. Our situation was even more of a challenge, as we were coming from Remy, which is about as far as it gets from the front gate, and we didn't have the leeway you have with a fireworks party where being a couple of minutes late doesn't matter. Even in that more difficult situation, and without rushing, we were not even close to being late.

You all seem to be confusing "it could take longer than an hour" to "it WILL take at least an hour." And then you keep responding to my claim that the 2nd statement is wrong, by repeating the first statement (which is totally different).

Right, but a nicer way to approach this would be to say “hey OP I think you might be able to make it because xyz”, instead of calling them a liar and accusing them of exaggerating. I do believe that you did it in the time you say, but can you not see how some aren’t comfortable cutting it that close?

there is a difference between saying "i'm not comfortable cutting it that close" and "diaper genie is trash because it's impossible to make it in 70 minutes" -- I wouldn't have responded to the former this way.

it took us about 35 min to get from Remy to be in position for MK fireworks via walking and monorails. Nowhere near an hour and certainly not "at least an hour" -- this was without rushing.
You made great timing. In August it took us an hour 20 to get from GOTG to CM for an adr. I thought we were going to miss it (we had the last adr time). We had waits for both monorail. We did much better time wise on our way back.

Calling you out here. It DID take over an hour. 40th anniversary and it was packed. The more crowded the park is the longer it takes to move through it. The area around Guardians and TT is packed and the construction walls don’t help. People are on their phones and not watching where they are walking.

Also, how long was YOUR wait in the Gaurdians LL. My time from tap in to exiting the ride was just over 1/2 hour. I did it multiple times and none of them were under a half hour. Again, how long did it take YOU.

Calling you out here. My god, you people really cannot understand the difference between "it could take over an hour, but it doesn't always" and "it always takes at least an hour?" You really think an example of it taking over an hour disproves the first statement? Wow.

I have no idea what the relevance of your 2nd paragraph is. When I rode Guardians LL, the wait was 0. Walked on. The train I rode on was mostly empty.

Why are you capitalizing random words in your post?

At 10:30 on the nose I picked a 5:10 Lightning Ln. on test track. I hit the button it circles and falls back to the tip board for 5:30. Hit it again GIVES ME 6:50-7:50!!! Noooooooo!

I have the After Hours Dessert Party at 8PM !!! I’ll never make it!

What an absolute waste of money!!!

People come here to get real world advice. So be aware that Genie + does not “hold” the time when you hit the button. I chose 5:10 but got 6:50PM

It would be a terrible disservice for anyone to think that boarding Guardians at 6:50 PM would allow enough time to get to Tomorrowland Terrace at 8 PM. I would never recommend it.

  • Go through the LL
  • Ride the ride and hope you don’t get stuck.
  • Exit ride and walk through the crowd at Guardians
  • Walk to the front of the park
  • Wait for the monorail
  • Take the monorail to TTC
  • Wait again for Express Monorail
  • Ride Monorail
  • Go through Tapstiles
  • Navigate crowds to Tomorrowland Terrace
  • Wait in line for Party and it is better to be there before 8PM
I would not risk $100 a person on that. YMMV

So I wasted time in the guest services to give me what I consider a more comfortable and reasonable time. Who wants the stress?

We rode GoTG 4 times last week on 3 different days.
ILL$ at 11 was 5 minutes.
VQ at 4pm was a 45 minutes wait.
VQ at 9 am was 10 minutes.
VQ at 11 am was 15 minutes.
