And they're off! Live trip report

Yep, Chuys is now on 'our list' and we go at least a couple of times each trip! We're never too sure what we are ordering but it always tastes good!!!

Ali :)

Enjoying reading your TR. It always surprises me how much there is to do in the central FL area (never mind when you venture further). Friends can't believe we still find new things to do but I can't believe the ones that come back and say 2/3 weeks were enough!

I hope you had a good day at Cocoa. :)

Brilliant day at Cocoa Beach yesterday! Not a cloud in the sky all day. Slight breze off the sea even kept all the lovebugs at bay too! Our car is splattered with them though.

Shared lunchat Oh Shucks seafood cafe at the pier and then ate dinner at Lone Cabbage fish camp on the way back last night.

Off to Aquatica now. Will post some photos from yesterday when we get back later. Going to watch Wishes tonight from Contemporary I think.

Just booked a kayaking adventure tour for tomorrow! At WeekiWachee.

Glad you're having a good time. Did you go in the sea at Cocoa beach, the waves were brilliant last time we went and there were plenty of surfers out :)

So you have a 'list' too! Despite being here almost 3 weeks already, we have not done everything on our list. In fact, there's more on it than ever!

We've even had to postpone visiting MK until next year.

Yes. We went in the sea. It was quite warm.

Pam

Think so, Pam. Saw adverts for it today as we arrived at Weeki Watchee, but we headed straight for the Kayak Shack.

It turned out to be quite a day. Got stopped en route by a State Trooper and then while out on the river we overturned the kayak and both ended up underwater! Not sure if the camera will survive, but at least we did. And we had left the phone and other valuables in the car.

Will post more details when I have more time.

Photo of the river by the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp. Food was quite basic but fresh and great value.

Am hoping that after yesterday's soaking we may still be able to retrieve some photos from the camera's memory card, even if the camera is ruined. Will probably have to wait till we're back in the UK to find out. I had some great shots of WeekiWachee river.

It was lucky that I found the camera still attached to my wrist when I managed to grab hold of a tree branch and hang on till we were able to get back in the canoe.

For info, the State Trooper pulled us over for not moving out of the right lane while he was attending to an incident on the grass off the roadside. Turns out he was going to pull over the car in front of us, but he had managed to get away.

Hope you camera is OK. sounds like an eventful day.:rotfl:

You're right there, Wayne!

We had started to look for a new camera before we came but we wanted to do some more research before rushing in to buy one. Glad we hadn't bought one!

Off to Aquatica today. Hoping it will be a quieter day! It's our last full day here. We fly back tomorrow. In some ways it feels like we have been here for ages, but then it seems to have gone quickly. Strange.

Forgt to mention that we ate at Texas Roadhouse last night and the nght before. We think it's great food at good prices. On Wednesday nights you can get an 8oz sirloin for $9.99, including hot rolls, 2 sides and endless peanuts. Regular price is only $11.99. Happy hour margaritas are about $3.50 too.

Nice day at Aquatica today. DH ride the new water slide within the first hour of it officially opening and got a commemorative t-shirt.

We have been to Celebration to eat tonight at the Town Tavern. On Fridays they serve Lobster chowder which is very good. I had a cup of that and the Lobster Cobb Salad. DH had the turkey stack. We then had a stroll around the laked before popping into Kilwins for the first time this trip. I had a single scoop waffle cone and DH had a shake. We thought they were better than Ghirardelli.

Now back at the townhouse packing to go home. We will do DTD check in and then do a few hours at SeaWorld before going to the airport.

Camera is still drying out!

Its been great following along, thank you for posting. Have a safe flight home.

Safe travels, been really enjoying your live report, might even try one myself when I get there in 8 sleeps YAY.

Hope the weather doesn't shock you too much when you get here.

Kirsten

Your last day sounds just right, a lazyish day at Aquatica and then off to Celebration. we tend to stop by there on our last day for a hour or so :happytv:
The rolls at Texas Roadhouse were just out of the oven last time and delicious.

I have really enjoyed your trip report and can't believe 3 weeks have gone by :goodvibes

Some photos from last night. I know people like the food ones!
