:welcome: Thanks for joining in!

Congrats on your wedding! The pictures are beautiful!

Skye would say you look like Ariel, her favorite princess...although most girls with long red hair look like Ariel to her...but she thinks Ariel is the prettiest one so it's a good thing!!!

Cannot wait to read about how you spent your best trip yet!

Thank you so much! I must say I've always felt a little connected to Ariel since we share a hair color. It's cute because whenever we eat at Akershus, Ariel always comments on my red hair. Makes me feel special! :rotfl:

Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes

Read your PTR, and now I can't wait to read your TR! You two look stunning in your wedding pics! :bride:

Thank you so much! I'm glad you'll be here for the TR! :goodvibes

I'm here! Page 3?! I'm shocked! People are on this TR like white on rice! :rotfl: Anyway...

Yay! Glad you made it over! :woohoo:

Page 3?? :headache:

Lets get this party started! I think I've been looking forward to this TR just as much as you have! :rotfl: j/k :flower3:

Can I ask, when you wear your hair down, what product do you use to keep the curl? My hair is think and wavy/curly and I have yet to find the best gel for it? TIA!

Woo hoo! So glad you're here, Jennifer! :woohoo:

As for my hair, I normally just use mouse and hair spray. My favorite mouse is Paul Mitchell in the purple bottle (although I don't think that's what I had on this trip). It holds really well, though. :thumbsup2

Congrats! My Disney obsession started after our wedding we went to a work conference. Would loved to have done a Disneymoon. I will just have to live through you.

:welcome: Thank you so much for joining in! :goodvibes

ARRIVAL DAY - Pt. 1

On Sunday morning, Miguel and I woke up for the first time as husband and wife! What an amazing feeling! We were both still in awe of the wedding, the beauty of the evening and the fact that in just a few short hours, we would be in our favorite place in the world on our honeymoon!

I purposely scheduled us a late dinner that evening (8:00) so that we wouldn’t have to rush that morning. The plan was to be on the road by 11:00, since we had to be out of the hotel at that point anyway. I set the alarm for 9:00, and had no trouble getting up! I was still feeling a major adrenaline rush!

I got up and got ready for the day while Miguel snoozed a little while longer. Then, he got up and showered while I tidied up our room and I got all of our wedding weekend bags packed. Since we weren’t taking those suitcases with us to Disney, we needed someone to come by and pick them up, along with my dress and Miguel’s tux. Around 10:00, my dad stopped by. It was nice to see him before we left, and it was fun to talk about the wedding!

We spent the remainder of our time in our lovely suite just lounging around and soaking in our first morning as a married couple.

Soon enough, the excitement got to be too much so we grabbed our bags headed out!

The St. Regis is such a beautiful hotel, and I just had to take more pictures!

We made it out of the St. Regis right on time at 11:00, and soon after made our first stop for the day – to fill up the gas tank!

Then it was on to the open road! We made it through downtown Atlanta with ease (which is pretty surprising, since there is always traffic) and pretty soon we were passing the airport. It’s always fun to spot the planes landing and taking off. I like to think of the ride down to Orlando as a series of small destinations, and in just over an hour, we made it to our first: Interstate 475, which bypasses Macon.

By this point, Miguel was pretty tired, so he snoozed for a bit. It’s hard work being the passenger! LOL

Meanwhile, I tried not to get too distracted by my new bling!

Somewhere after Macon, my grandmother called and we spent over an hour talking about the wedding. We were all on cloud nine, and we just couldn’t help but talk about it! It really helped to pass the time!

Our next, mini-destination: Perry, Georgia, the home of the GA state fair grounds.

Finally, Miguel woke up!

Around 2:30, we made it to the half-way point of our trip: Valdosta!

I decided to stop for some gas in hopes of not needing to fill up before Disney. It was nice to stretch our legs a bit, too.

It wasn’t too long before we had made it to Florida!

And then to Gainesville!

And then Ocala! Now we were really getting excited! We only had about an hour and a half left on our journey!

It’s always so exciting to see the sign for the Turnpike. I consider that to be the final, mini-destination before the big destination!

Of course, the Turnpike also means tolls! $2.50 to be exact!

Even though I had hoped to not have to stop for more gas, I figured it was a good idea to go ahead and head to another gas station so we would have a full tank for driving in Disney, so we stopped at one of the Turnpike’s service stations and filled up. Someone noticed my Bride tee and told me congratulations!

Getting closer! And more excited!

It was a beautiful day!

And finally, after 7 hours in the car we saw the most beautiful sign of all! We had made it! After more than a year of planning, it was finally time for our honeymoon to begin!

Up Next: Will we get some pixie dust when we check in at the Poly?

LOVE the Walt Disney World sign! We drove through Atlanta in May, late one Friday night and driving by the airport my girls loved seeing the all the planes in the air.

I can't help but grin ear to ear when I see the sign! I get so giddy! I love driving by the airport, too! There are always so many planes since it's such a busy one. :thumbsup2

Are you getting used to calling Miguel your husband? I know it is wierd at first, but you will get used to it quick and it's so awesome :)

I am right there with you about wanting enough gas in the car so you don't have to stop later on. I dislike when my tank goes under 1/4 of a tank when I know I have a bunch of driving to do!

I can not wait to hear all about arrival at the Poly and your first day at Disney!!!! :woohoo:

Sorry to nag but you probably meant to say mouSSe, right? I guess Mickey had "subconsciously" invaded and forced you to spell it m o u s e. Mickey Mouse mousse! :rotfl2:I dare you to say that three times fast without choking on your tongue!:lmao:

I'm amazed and impressed you left for the honeymoon the day after your wedding. I needed that day just to sleep!!

Yay! You made it! And it seemed like a smooth trip down! :cool1:

It was a really smooth drive! It actually went by really quickly. :thumbsup2

Your hotel really was gorgeous!

You two look so happy. I can't wait for the next update!

It was sooo nice. We are definitely staying there again sometime! And yes, we were very happy! :goodvibes

 Yes, I meant mousse! That is too funny, I kept looking at it and was like "this doesn't look right" but I couldn't think of any other way to spell it! :lmao: I think it was my subconscious telling me to go back to Disney! I definitely don't put mice in my hair! :lmao:

It's definitely taking some getting used to! The hardest thing right now is the new last name. I've switched it over at work now, and socially, but legally it's still my maiden name (our certified copies just came in so hopefully I can make it over to the SS office soon) so I feel like I can't sign anything with my new last name now. I kind of feel like I don't even have a last name at the moment! :lmao:

I'm amazed and impressed you left for the honeymoon the day after your wedding. I needed that day just to sleep!!

We were very lucky in that we actually got a good amount of sleep the night of the wedding. We were back at our hotel a little after 11:00 and asleep by 1:00 or so, so we got a full 8 hours, which is way more than I get on a regular night! :thumbsup2

I can almost feel the anticipation and excitement of the drive. I would love to do a road trip to Disney one day, but since we live about 22 hours away I'm not sure that's a reality
