And They Lived Happily Ever After - A June '11 Disneymoon TR! THE END - NEW PTR!

Hi Courtney! I'm finally back on the DIS and I'm all caught up on your Disneymoon! As much as I hated being away from the boards for so long it was really nice being able to read a bunch of your updates back to back! :goodvibes

I'm so glad to hear they have updated SAI! John and I ate there awhile back (I think it may have been on our Disneymoon) and we weren't really fans, but the new food looks amazing! I can't wait to try it again!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience with Tonga Toast! I've only had it once at Kona and it was phenomenal, but I can see where your piece must have been gross- those bananas were so brown!

That's awesome that you got extra FPs for SM! I would totally "split up" to get those! :thumbsup2

Speaking of FPs...I love that picture of all of them together! Every DISers dream! :cloud9:

Awww, what a beautiful gift basket from your dad! That is such a sweet surprise! :lovestruc

I'm so glad you enjoyed the dessert party! We really enjoyed it last December, even though we were FREEZING! I want to see the Magic Memories and You show so badly. It looks amazing!

Oh my gosh, what is the most terrifying thing you've seen at Disney!? That's such a cliff hanger!! :scared1:

Oh wait, I just realized you posted two more updates! :lmao:

Oh. My. Gosh. :scared1: That sounds awful! I can't believe that happened! :sad1: Courtney I'm so sorry you had to see that. I am the same way, very sensitive, and I know it would have messed up my day too. I hope the baby was okay!

Wow, that private cabana looks nice! What a wonderful and relaxing day! :cloud9:

All I can say about that steak: YUM. I want one. Right now. :rotfl:

Hi Courtney! Good luck with your final class, I bet you can't wait to be finished with studying (I still have another year or so left of accounting exams and it's not enjoyable at all lol :surfweb:)

That sounds awful what you saw at DHS :sad2: good to hear that the little boy was ok after the event.

The cabana looks fabulous, I'll have to put that on my Disney wish list for a future trip! :cloud9:
I agree that the Yacht Club & Beach Club are very different resorts.. I like both of them, but think the Beach Club has a slightly more relaxed/family feel than the YC... love the whole area around there though! :goodvibes

We were both in WDW at the same time you're writing about now.. so I'll keep checking your updates and thinking of what we were doing that same day!

Emma princess: x

Congrats on being so close to finishing your MBA! I'll have my Master's in Adolescent Education in December, too! We both deserve these  and one (or 4) of these :drinking1. Daquiri for you and margarita for me :rotfl:

I love how you and Miguel are doing tons in the parks but having your relaxing time, too. My fiance and I would love this type of honeymoon! I'm sorry the menu at the Yachtsman was different than you expected! That's the good thing about going to WDW often though, you can just try something different next time!

You head back down to WDW on Feb. 4? We leave to go home that day! Darn, we could have had a DIS meet!

Good luck on finishing your MBA. No wonder you have no time for the DIS!!!

That thing you witnessed at HS really was horrible. And strange!

Kona Bread is the best bread I've ever tasted. I can't cook to save my life, but I really want to try that recipe at home!!! I love that Miguel took a loaf to go, I wish I had thought of doing that. It would have been the perfect breakfast!!! Too bad you didn't enjoy the rest of your meal there, besides the cheesecake. Ron had a teriyaki steak there and he said it was excellent, so maybe try that next time?

You guys sure know how to relax on vacation! We try, but even after several days in the park we just couldn't stay at the resort and do nothing. Though those cabanas would have probably helped. It looked awesome!

Congratulations on being so close to the end of your MBA! The online project you are doing sounds like the final course in my undergrad business degree. We had to make 8 years worth of decisions too and compete against the other teams in the class. What a pain!

What you experienced at DHS sounds horrifying! I can't even imagine!

The cabana seems wonderful. We've decided to do the Grand for our honeymoon, but I may have to look into the cabana idea!

Yay for being so close to another trip!

Crazy update, I can't believe that happened.:scared1: I'm so curious as to what Disney's response was. Was the family of the teen asked to leave the park, did the toddler's family receive something "magical"? So, so curious!!!

The cabana was an amazing idea!;)

Sorry about your disappointing meal, seems crazy that they could mess up a pasta meal!

Oh my goodness, Courtney! I can't imagine how frightening that must have been for the families involved and the spectators. Zach works with the mentally and physically ill and sees terrible stuff every day-- and even he said he would have been really bothered by seeing that (especially in WDW).
I am also not crazy about YC-- we had an okay meal there in 2009, but the atmosphere seemed too stuffy and not very Disney.
Your cabana day sounds heavenly! When we went to Las Vegas, on our last day, we went to visit our hotel's (Caesars Palace) pool and saw the cabanas-- incredible!! It made me want to rent one our next trip-- your experience makes me want to do so even more!!

Courtney-

That was awful! I can only imagine how terrible each of the families felt in their own ways. When we got to MCO to start our trip, I was hit by a boy in the leg while walking towards the mini-monorail. I believe that he had special needs and I'm sure that the boy who harmed the little one had special needs as well. The dad apologized to me and that was nice. Did you see any communication between the families after the fact?

That cabana looks amazing! That burger looks delicious, too!

I did NOT like Kona at all. We've tried breakfast and dinner and we won't be going back.

It's funny how different people's experiences are at Disney restaurants. Ben and I LOVE Kona!!

On another note, you have officially made me want to try and book a cabana if we end up staying somewhere that has them!

Being a mother, I am freaked out after just reading about that whole incident!!! I can not imagine witnessing it nor being one involved. I am glad things turned out okay and the baby was fine.

We eat lunch at Kona more than dinner and we love it! You should try it again at lunchtime.

We LOVE the Yachtsman!!!! I've never had that ravioli thing nor the dessert you had. One thing to remember about Yachtsman is that the menu can change day to day sometimes. We always look online, but then we look when you first get there and plan on something not being on the menu. A downfall for some, but the rolls and the steaks are amazing so we always go back! We always have good service too and that's a big thng for me.

That Cabana looked awesome and so relaxing!!! I wouldn't have wanted to leave either! LOL

Seems like you and Miguel had a great day of relaxing with the cabana!!!

I'm glad your back, I have missed your updates.
Good luck for your last assessments I'm sure it will be a massive relief when it's all over!

What a scary experience with the small child, something you shouldn't have to see in the happiest place on earth.

Your pool cabana looked amazing definitely adding that to my Disney must do list hehe :)

Wow, what a terrible, awful thing to have seen!:sad2: I can't imagine how you or even the parents felt. That definitely would have broken my heart. So sorry that you had to experience it!

I have to say, the Cabana looked and sounded heavenly...what a great way to spend the day!! :cloud9:

Sorry to hear that Kona and the Yachtsman didn't quite live up to what you were expecting. That steak did look marvelous! I do hope that you get the chance to try them again one day and that it will be better. I can understand how disappointed you were to find what you were hoping to order was changed or totally missing! Definitely a bummer!:guilty:

Good luck with the rest of your school...it sounds like your project is definitely very involved, so I can only imagine how busy you've been with it!

I am SO sorry you had to witness such a crazy incident...just reading it made my heart drop in my stomach, so I cannot imagine being there to witness it!

I am glad that you were able to have a great rest of the day though, your TSM scores were really close :thumbsup2

What an amazing day relaxing in the cabana, that looks and sounds like a perfect vacation day to me :goodvibes

That has to be one of the biggest steaks I have ever seen !!!

Wow Courtney - being a Mother to an (almost) toddler I am in tears over what you had to witness. I'm so very sorry that you had to witness that :sad1:

We keep wanting to try Kona for dinner but can't ever find another reservation we are willing to give up for it

The cabana sounds absolutely heavenly and after the little one gets a bit bigger I think it is definitely on our must do list :thumbsup2

Such a bummer that you weren't blown away with Yachtsman. I always think I want to try it and then I stumble across a review similar to yours and talk myself out of it.

As always, can't wait to hear what happens next :goodvibes

I am so sorry you had to witness that horrible incident with the child. :sad1: I sincerely hope that everyone was alright, how scary! I can also completely understand what a damper it would put on your day! You don't expect to see things like that at Disney, and it just seems worse, juxtaposed with a place that is so magical!

On one of our trips we witnessed an elderly person collapse on the ramp up to the monorail. It was terrible, her family was just freaking out, but luckily Disney security was there in a heart-beat, and we saw the ambulance pulling up as we were leaving. I hope that it was just heat exhaustion or something like that and she was OK, but we never did find out. It really effected me, and we ended up just calling it a quiet night instead of heading back to the parks.

On a happier note- Those cabanas look awesome! What a wonderful way to spend a day!

OMG I can't believe what happened with that baby! That is such a horrible thing to see happen in Disney! Those poor parents! I'm glad the baby was ok, though. :goodvibes

LMA is something I'm SO not interested in, but I think Brandon would love it! We were going to go on our trip, but it was closed, so maybe next time!

Good call on canceling Mama Melrose and just going back to the Poly! Sometimes you just have to make adjustments like that, Disney is so tiring!

And the next day sounded amazing-that cabana looks so awesome! I'd love to book one someday, if I ever get to stay at the Poly, but I doubt it would be in my budget! :confused3

I totally agree with you about the Yacht Club, it's nice, but it's definitely very masculine! I would pick the Beach Club any day, however, a part of me would like to try the Yacht Club someday...weird, because I never thought I'd want to stay there!

Yachtsman looks amazing, even though you liked Miguel's dinner better than yours! I'm thinking of possibly going there on our anniversary trip!

Ok the baby incident :scared1::scared1: I would have been like you and been out of it after that. I almost hope that that teenager has some disorder and that he's just not a mean boy! Thank goodness the baby was ok.

What a wonderful down day! Ok be honest, did you take all the soda with you when you left the cabana for the day?? I would have! :rotfl:

I've read lots of great reviews of Yachtsman, I'm sorry that yours wasn't up to par. :flower3:

Yay! You are back! (although my TR is going equally as slow sadly...and I don't have an MBA to blame :rotfl2:) I've decided that you must be the sweetest person the planet because the meal at Yachtsman looked awful and you still said you enjoyed it!

The cabana looked so nice. If Randy and I ever get around to an adult only trip again, I think we might have to look into that

The whole thing with the baby would have freaked me out. And not just because I work for CPS. Seriously, if your teen has that many violent tendancies due to whatever disorder...maybe a theme park full of small children isn't the best place to be :scared1:

I would definitely recommend the cabana! I think you would love it! :thumbsup2

I thought the same thing about the teenager. I know he can't help it and he should be able to enjoy the same things as other kids, but if he's that unstable I can't help but thinking it wasn't such a good idea. :confused3

Hi Courtney! I'm finally back on the DIS and I'm all caught up on your Disneymoon! As much as I hated being away from the boards for so long it was really nice being able to read a bunch of your updates back to back! :goodvibes

All I can say about that steak: YUM. I want one. Right now. :rotfl:

I hope you will give SAI another try! It was our best meal! :thumbsup2

I think the baby recovered pretty quickly. The mother, not so much...:guilty:

Hi Courtney! Good luck with your final class, I bet you can't wait to be finished with studying (I still have another year or so left of accounting exams and it's not enjoyable at all lol :surfweb:)

It sounds like you're on the downhill slide for your school, too! It's been a long road, but I am so glad to finally be at the end of it (almost!) I am really glad I went right into grad school. It would be so hard to go back had I not.

The cabana was wonderful. You and Steve should rent one if you get a chance. :thumbsup2

Congrats on being so close to finishing your MBA! I'll have my Master's in Adolescent Education in December, too! We both deserve these  and one (or 4) of these :drinking1. Daquiri for you and margarita for me :rotfl:

It was really strange - it just happened out of nowhere! One minute they were walking along, clam and happy as could be, and the next minute, it was mayhem!

I will definitely keep that teriyaki steak in mind if we go back to Kona. I think I've read some other good reviews of that dish. :goodvibes

Congratulations on being so close to the end of your MBA! The online project you are doing sounds like the final course in my undergrad business degree. We had to make 8 years worth of decisions too and compete against the other teams in the class. What a pain!

That's exactly what my simulation is! Was yours called Capsim?

You should definitely rent a cabana on your honeymoon! They have then at the GF! :thumbsup2

Disney definitely jumped right on things. They had multiple people in suits out there immediately. I couldn't tell exactly what they were doing, but they made sure the parties were separated and they talked to everyone involved for quite a while. I am curious too!

Oh my goodness, Courtney! I can't imagine how frightening that must have been for the families involved and the spectators. Zach works with the mentally and physically ill and sees terrible stuff every day-- and even he said he would have been really bothered by seeing that (especially in WDW).

I did NOT like Kona at all. We've tried breakfast and dinner and we won't be going back.

It seemed like Disney was trying to keep the parties separated after the fact. I never saw them have any interaction. :confused3

Yeah, we weren't too impressed with Kona. I was expecting to be, so that's always disappointing. :sad1:

It's funny how different people's experiences are at Disney restaurants. Ben and I LOVE Kona!!

On another note, you have officially made me want to try and book a cabana if we end up staying somewhere that has them!

I've heard so many wonderful things about Kona! I really think we just picked the wrong dishes. :confused3

Being a mother, I am freaked out after just reading about that whole incident!!! I can not imagine witnessing it nor being one involved. I am glad things turned out okay and the baby was fine.

We eat lunch at Kona more than dinner and we love it! You should try it again at lunchtime.

Seems like you and Miguel had a great day of relaxing with the cabana!!!

If we go back to Kona, I think it would be for lunch. The lunch menu appeals to me much more than the dinner menu.

Our service at Yachtsman was great! I would definitely try it again, because there were alot of good things about the meal. I will stick to a steak next time!
