I know this sounds COMPLETELY unreasonable, but I can't imagine staying at WL and not being able to go up to the lounge...

I honestly struggled with that same thought at the BC & with AKL, believe it or not. BUT when we really sat down and thought about it, we realized we could easily give up CL & could easily live without a savannah VW at AKL. I'd almost rather cut that way then not stay at a deluxe at all. Because we are now visiting in the month of August, we find that we are utilizing the resort amenities more b/c of the heat and we are touring very differently now (heading to parks first thing in the am, back at resort for pool time and resting, then heading out later in the evening when it's cooler) so that's truly why I lean more towards the deluxes. My biggest issue now is that my oldest DD just turned 18 and the extra per nt chg, especially at the deluxes are significant. IDK...I say give up the CL but stay delx if you really plan to utilize the resort...if you plan to be on the go more, than POR may make sense....

What about the balloon issue? Has that been resolved? I would do non-savannah at AKL I think. We aren't balcony people so I think that upgraded views are usually lost on us (except for those stinking fireworks views ) The whole resort looks absolutely beautiful and you can view the animals from so many places!

And, I wouldn't normally shell out for a view either, but that's kind of the AKL "thing"...those animals right outside of your balcony. I feel like it wouldn't be a full experience if we don't do SV, but at the same time, we probably won't even USE the balcony, except for the one time we check out the view.

I really do enjoy my balcony in the morning .... just drinking my morning coffee! Of course remember I'm not there with kids that I have to get ready in the morning so that probably makes a difference. I will say there is nothing better than coffee, cinnamon roll and watching the animals!

I know the feeling. Maybe when the kids start wanting more park time I can give a little on the resort, but for now we spend 2/3 of our time at the resort so the amenities are really important.

Lol. I skim this thread to see what you and Pas are up to. You never cease to amaze me. I shouldn't talk I'm a hot mess myself. I haven't gotten into the vacation planning mode yet. It's still too far off for me. I hit my peak at about 2 months out. I like this change, but will it last?

Trying too hard to be a good mom for me can end up leaving me feel like the exact opposite. And DH and I are grating on eachother to boot. SIGH...I seriously need a girls weekend away. Any of you up for a girls weekend? LOL!

LMAO! I think I have transcended the hot mess title at this point. After I had made the change to AKL, I considered calling right back and asking about a Poly GV room since so many other rooms at other resorts had opened up under my discount...

I think DH has learned his lesson about "jokingly" criticizing my resort choices....but who was I kidding? I should have known POR wouldn't stick.

Yes, AKL. I think it will be nice. Lots of activities for the kids, awesome pool and slide...indoor corridors...we could do our date night at Jiko, while the kids are at Simba's club...plus, not paying for CL or a view...if we end up at the parks for the most part, I won't feel bad about the money spent on the resort.

We'll see what happens...but I may just be warming up....
