We've checked off.. conquered all the DVC resorts at WDW... SSR is our home... BCV, BLT..etc..etc..

There is only VWL left.. and the plan now is to visit them about a year from now... and then we will have completed the conquest!!!

Any desire to post some of your opinions as far as positive and negatives about each one so far - which would you go back to and which aren't worth it - in your opinion of course...? (If you do, please note party travel size and which type of room(s) you stay in)

We also own at SSR but love trying all the different DVC's as well and are hoping for OKW in OCT 2014 to completed our WDW round up. We are actually on a mission to try them all. Hoping for GCV in Oct 2015 and then all we need is HH. We have been to VB and really enjoyed it as well.

There are certainly reasons to love and not love (can't use hate because I don't hate any of them) each DVC and I would be okay if I could only get SSR when I called, but it is fun to try them all.

Good luck on your conquest!!!

Congrats! We are almost at that point too! We will be staying at VWL this year, then we'll need to stay at BC then our quest is complete as well!

Dw and I have Boardwalk and BLT left and Boardwalk will be done this fall with Baylake to follow next spring hopefully. Congrats on getting them done, I too would love to hear your opinions of them all. I think I will put in my $0.02 when I finish them up as well.

But you've artificially restricted your interpretation of the challenge to WDW? Are you giving a cold shoulder to Hilton Head, Vero Beach, Aulani and Grand Cal? Why? The challenge is all the DVC properties ... and then go looking for a new club to conquer: Wyndham, Bluegreen, Worldmark, etc. ;)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but with VGF opening this fall, you now have one more DVC resort to visit.

And with your timeline...
...then there will be Poly DVC
...then River Country DVC
...then BLT 2
...then YC DVC
...then <input rumor here> DVC...

Enjoy the ride!!

Sorry... although we do plan to one day check out the "other" dvc properties.. our focus has already been WDW DVC resorts...

Thanks!!! Great point... oh darn.. I guess we'll just HAVE to conquer them also!!!

:rotfl:

Now.. as per your requests.. let the reviews begin...

First up.. our first experience with DVC..

Resort- Old Key West
Room size- 1 BDR
Travelers- 5
Time of year- Summer

Overall impressions- Well I must say... my wife and I were BLOWN AWAY (and also spoiled) by the size of the 1 bedroom room at OKW!!! HUGE!!!! We walked in.. and everyone started to  :yay: the jacuzzi, the washer, dryer, full kitchen... the view.. it was almost overwhelming!!! We quickly went down and enjoyed the main pool area.. the boys LOVED the slide!!! We really loved the atmosphere of OKW... it was laid back, easy... and very relaxing. On the last night of the trip I turned to my wife and said.. "other than the expense, can you think of ANY negative thing about DVC after this trip?"... she smiled a huge smile, gave me a big  and said "Nope, I love it!!!!" We knew we had made the right decision.. and then she said "I wonder if all the other resorts are like this one".. thus the challenge has begun!!!!!

Next up- Our home resort SSR

We are in the same position with only VWL to stay at as of now. Looking forward to the GFV when available. Reviews on the resorts would be conflicting for us because it would depend if we drive to WDW or fly.

Congratulations! We purposefully did split stays until we'd tried them all. Now we actually enjoy doing split stays, and continue to book that way.

You don't specifically mention it, but have you also tried Vero Beach? We just discovered that last summer. We liked it so much that we'll be inserting a few days there in the middle of two WDW resorts every few years.

Hilton, Hawaii and Tree houses are the only ones we have not stayed at, they were all fabulous, please don't make us choose one.

Resort- SSR
Room size- Studio, 1 BD, Treehouse Villa, Grand Villa
Travelers- 5-10
Time of year- March, June

Overall impressions- We love our home resort!!!! We totally dig the cool colors, the Saratoga "horses and horse racing" theme, and of couse the springs!!! We stayed in a studio years back.. springs location.. we loved it.. close to the main area, Pool, Artist's Palette, Spa... etc.. and the view of the springs was awesome! At the time, we had plenty enough room for our family of four. Now.. not so much.. We have since stayed in a one bed, a treehouse, and just recently a GV!!! We just booked a treehouse again for next summer to join some close family friends!!!! The treehouses are great, spacious, and very, very nice interiors. Only small complaint is that they are a bit isolated from the rest of the resort, but I don't mind walking... as far as the GV... we stayed in Congress Park.. and WOW.. what a room!!! We had 10 people, and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and relax... absolutely amazing room!!!

Next up- Beach Club...

After our BLT stay in Aug, we will have stayed at all WDW DVC resorts, as well as Vero. In the future we do plan on trying the rest of the DVC resorts (HHI, GCV, Aulani). Next year we hope to get a room at the GFV! But, we want to stay at ALL the WDW resorts! We're pretty close to conquering that goal! :thumbsup2

This is in my TODO list as well!

So far: OKW, AKL, BCV, BWV, VGC
Upcoming: BLT, AKV

Todo: VWL, SSR + nonWDW: HHI, VB, AU

And now VGF has to be added to the mix. :rotfl:

I've stayed in all of them at least one night now (as of this May with Vero and VWL), mostly in studios, except for Aulani, and that's not likely to happen. And of course, now I will have to try to work in VGF, and then . . . . . Actually made it back to home SSR for 3 days on the last trip. I find something to like about them all -- no way to pick a favorite (well, if the parking and elevator situation were better at the Boardwalk it would definitely be my favorite). Each has an advantage of some sort depending on various factors. I moved several times on my last trip, and it worked out fine for me -- got to see lots of different places, including two off-site. Now I'm wondering if I'll get itchy feet if I try a longer stay in one place!

DH and I are finishing our WDW DVC resorts in December when we hit BCV in Oct and VGF in December. We just bought VGF points and are using them for our December holiday trip. can't wait to check it out. BCV we haven't stayed in yet and are getting to enjoy 2 nts there in a studio in Oct. So excited it is during the F&W festival.

Once we have hit all those, we plan on checking out Aulani in 2017 and I would love to try VB and HH, but waiting on the go ahead from the hubby. We own Marriott's as well and it is really hard to go with Disney Hilton Head when we can get oceanfront with Marriott, but it all depends on where we have our points that can be used! I am trying to plan out my trips through 2019 right now and it is very difficult to plan out that far! Especially when other families are involved. No one else likes to plan out as far as me :)
