...drumroll please......Nike Air mules (with a non adjustable strap across the back to hold your foot in). I tried the Payless Croc knockoffs, as well as the Payless Tula's (Birkenstocks). Both the Croc-wannabees and the Tula sandals left my size 8.5 narrow foot feeling tired and unsupported after half a day on my feet and off. Unfortunately, I can not identify the exact style name of these Nike's. I can tell you they are a medium blue textured (boxes) mule style with white/blue soles and the back of the soles are squared off. On the inside, at the heel, there is a see through oval. Around the edges of the mule is a satiny medium blue color. There is a strap around the back, which is blue plastic on the outside, soft material on the inside. They are not canvas. I got them new at my local flea market for 20. and the seller said they go for 110 in Foot Locker (not that I'm gullible enough to believe that). Can anyone help me identify these sneakers? Anyway, I'd like to recommend them! I'll be sporting these on our WDW trip in Oct. Should I wear them starting now to further break them in (for the next 3.75 months) or put them on a shrine so I don't ruin them before the trip? This will be me in Oct  !!! ***I finally found the name of the most comfortable shoes (for me, that is)- they are Nike Air Visi. I bought a pair for DD12 also!

you need to break them in (i don't know if that takes 3 months, but you have to break them in)

my comfotable shoes for WDW (and everywhere else) are my birkenstock sandals (the kind without a backstrap)....
i've worn these at WDW for the past 20 years and they've never let me down...

Okay, I haven't worn them at WDW yet, but I have to speak for my Crocs - the real ones, not the Payless copies. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, I hate to take them off. I can't wait to wear them in my favorite place - not until January 2006, unfortunately :guilty:

All the Croc talk made me go and try a pair on....guess what I am one of those lucky ones who does not fit into her size and does not fit into one size down....no in between ones.. so I am croc less.

I do love my Merrills though... :)

I have two athletic shoes that I like. I think Brooks Ariel is my favorite and a close second is Sacony (I don't remember the model).

I have all kinds of foot problems including arthritis in my feet and these seem to do best. I used to be able to wear Birkenstock for a short time but with the arthritis I can't.

I really, really tried to like wearing Crocs at WDW. Alas, I got 2 blisters the first day, and had to go back to my trusty athletic shoes. However, I do love the Crocs for at home. But don't count on them being for everyone at WDW.

When I went in May I took my Croc Niles, Croc Beach, Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals, and Teva Mush flip flops. The first day I wore the Croc Niles and got two small blisters. For the next couple of days all I could wear were my two pair of Tevas as they didn't bother the blisters. After that I tried to alternate the shoes. After 10 days/9 nights in order of comfort the shoes ranked: #1 Teva Pretty Rugged Leather, #2 Teva Mush flip flops, and a distant #3 Croc Beach, and #4 Croc Niles. I loved my Crocs at home and had worn them regularly either shopping or to walk my dog, so I don't know why they weren't that comfortable at WDW. I ran into a lady at my resort wearing her Crocs Beach and she said even though she was wearing her Crocs that her Tevas were really more comfortable, but like me she was alternating them and trying to give them a chance. She said her daughter also got two blisters in the same place I did with her Croc Niles (that horizontal ridge just below the toes seems to irritate).

I reluctantly wore my Sketchers tennis shoes when we went and was quite suprised my feet felt as good as they did! I wore them for 6 days at Disney and 1 day at US/IOA and did not have a single sore spot on my feet the entire time!

I like wearing Rocket dogs - their like walking on a marshmellow! ;)

Merrill or Nike sport sandals for us; we seem to have a family foot-shape issue with Tevas, the front buckle rubs a sensitive spot.

We almost always are at WDW in the summer, at the height of Orlando heat and humidity, and I am always amazed that people are able to walk around with closed shoes and socks. I get hot just looking at them.

Add another vote for Sketchers - they are very comfy !!

I had the same experience as Simba's Mom & auribee with my Crocs - I wear them all the time at home & love them - wore them at WDW & got my first ever WDW blister.... :confused3

I'll keep looking on this thread for the name of those Nike's, they sound very comfy...

I live in my Chacos all summer long and whenever we go to WD . So comfortable! Couldn't live without them.

I wouldn't be without my SAS walking shoes - ever!! I can't get them where I live, so I get them in VA Beach when I go to visit my son. Expensive (about $128 a pair) but they last and last.

I can't do WDW without my Birks!

I happen to be wearing the same exact pair as we speak! One thing about Birkenstocks, though, is if you've never ever worn them before, buying a pair and wearing them around the parks all day will be pretty brutal for someone who's feet are used to sneakers or regular sandals. I've been wearing for years, have 5 pair in my closet, and my feet are used to the soles. If your feet aren't used to the great support Birkenstocks give, they could be uncomfortable and make your feet cramp.
