And The Beat Goes On!

A picture of the question from the survey showed up on Twitter. It asks how we feel about $15 per day for "extras" such as Magical Express, MagicBands (I assume new ones), Priority FP+ planning (60 days prior to arrival), Resort entertainment and children's activities, Wi-Fi, Extra Magic Hours, and parking at the resorts and parks.

This is concerning. Disney is all too good at pinching every penny out of us they can. While I won't be one of those people who says I won't go because quite frankly that is a lie, I will say that at some point the exponential increases will impact how many trips I take a year. I generally travel to WDW 4-5 times a year and while Disney will continue to make money I believe they will eventually hit a wall that guests aren't willing to pay.

Ha, why bother? They could increase rates $15 and no one would notice. That fee is already in the price of the hotel. What good does itemizing it do?

Like so many things Disney does, the proposed fee would only be the opening shot, put there to get people used to the idea. I'm sure it would go up from there. Then once a year they can raise this fee, and once a year they can raise the room rates. Plus the resort fee doesn't get included in any discount offered.

I'm curious how that would work for DVC members or their guests staying on DVC points.
I was wondering the same thing. Since our dues currently pay for the all the operating costs of the DVC resort (which includes all those expenses) it would seem that we should be exempt. Unless they plan to decrease dues going forward since the cost of those amenities would then be paid directly by the guest checking in.

I am standing at the base of that wall right now.

Don't like it one bit, I have never liked the itemized resort fees to begin with. Disney is already too expensive to begin with, why add the additional cost???? (actually that was a rhetorical question, I, bottom line, know why Disney would potentially be doing this). Disney is really making a name for themselves with the increased ticket prices, the tiered tickets, and all of the different cutbacks :sad2:.
