Just got a phone call -from a telemarketer -at dinnertime (when else do they call 0, and I'm not kidding, the woman said she was calling from a company called "show me your wallet" I said "what's the name of the company again?" "show me your wallet". Then she couldn't understand why I didn't want to listen to her spiel

I was getting three or four calls a day from telemarketers. I finally broke down and got Privacy Manager for my phone and now maybe one call a week gets through. It is so nice

Our favorite was the caller who asked to speak with "the person who is in charge of the phone bill". DH politely told him that if he couldn't even make the effort to learn his name there's nothing he would be interested in discussing!

We get three or four a week and always mispronouce BALDACCI so I just started saying I don't know anyone with that name. I love it.

I just got an email recently about how to deal with telemarketers - Tell them "hold on just a minute" and set the phone down, and don't come back!

I got a chuckle out of that -

My Mom also has the privacy manager and it has worked wonders for her! She loves it!

Yeap, I barely get any telemarketing calls at home...now I get them on my cell phone!! How do you like that? I finally decided to sign up both cell phones on the do not call list too and I do not answer what shows as Caller ID blocked!

We have Call Intercept, a feature which blocks out calls that our Caller ID doesn't recognize. That eliminates a large majority of telemarketer calls. Love it!
