So this sounds like something that I would write in a screenplay or something, poking fun at men and relationships in general. I feel so lame for posting this but I have no idea what to think and am interested in what my DIS friends think.

So yeah...I'm out with my extended family today, we're having lunch at the Texas Roadhouse celebrating a family members birthday. My cousins and I are cutting up and having fun. And suddenly, out of nowhere...there she is... my heart skips a beat... :faint:....choirs of angels are singing, everything goes into slow motion...I can't take my eyes off of her. I'm talking about the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and there she is, waiting tables at the Texas Roadhouse.

Now, I've never really had a problem talking with women, I'm confident, funny and outgoing...never afraid of rejection (despite a complete lack of success) and rarely at a loss for words....but today, I was tongue tied, I wanted to speak...NEEDED to speak...but couldn't. It was completly and utterly bizarre, I've never experienced anything like this before, all I could do was sit there and drink my tea. Everytime she walked by, I tried to think of something to say, but nada....luckily she wasn't our server or I may never have ordered... We ate, I sat dumbfounded and we left....and this mystery girl doesn't even know I exist.

So here I am, some 7 hours later, sitting at home and watching TV...but I can't stop thinking about her. All I know is her name is Ginny and she works at the Texas Roadhouse....and for some reason I cannot explain: she fascinates me.

So, am I nuts? Does this come off as incredibly creepy? I certainly don't want to come off as creepy or anything...i'm no psycho. I just have no idea what to think...it's...weird! I just needed to share...tossing this out for analysis and advice I guess. ::sigh:: thoughts?

Jungle Josh

I think this calls for another trip to the Roadhouse. And make sure and sit in Ginny's area. ;)

You seem like a really nice guy. She'd be crazy not to go out with you.

sounds like a definate reason for areturn trip:) sit in her area and seee what happens:) hey i met dw at a red light going in opposite directions, so you never know:):)

What are you doing on the computer? Get back to the Roadhouse - NOW!!

That was a very "odd" encounter and I'm a firm believer in fate.. If you can honestly say that this has NEVER happened before, you may be passing up your one and only..

Get off the computer.. Git!!!

I'm thinking you need to visit again--perhaps weekly :)

I just wouldn't make it a daily thing--that would be a bit creepy!

p.s.--you must keep us posted  .

I say you need to make another trip to the Roadhouse and see how it goes.

Okay, because your post is so darn sweet I am going to admit something I have never told anyone other than my mother and DH. On my very very first date in high school I was super nervous that I would not have anything to say. I was quite shy back then which just goes to show that you can overcome shyness, but that is another story....

Anyway, what I did was before I went on the date, I made a list of possible topics of conversation and wrote them down and put them in my purse. Now, I didn't use it, but it was comforting to know it was there. So, you could make a list of things like, "How long have you worked here? Do you like it? Do you work full time?" Which could then lead to other conversation topics depending on her answer.

Go back! And keep us updated!!

It's very sweet!

I'd say that a lunchtime or dinnertime visit is in order, pronto. Go to the website and look at the menu. Can't be tongue tied when you're sitting at one of her tables.

It's like that Reba McIntyre song! :)

I have no idea what to think...how do I go about talking to her? Is it weird approaching someone at their workplace?

Jungle Josh

Josh,

Look at it this way...you HAVE something to talk about already. If she asks what you'd like to order, ask her "What do you suggest?" "What's your favorite item on the menu?" That's just for starters...in a typical restaurant, a server will make 4 or 5 visits to the table. She'll talk to you, just be friendly and use the opportunity presented to you.

Good luck!

Suzanne

I say run, don't walk back to the Roadhouse... your post was so sweet, it is a shame she isn't a DIS'er she would definitely know you exist after youir post...

oh if only she were a DISer then she would DEFINATLY be the perfect woman! :) and my crisis would be solved....she'd know! oh what to do what to do.

Jungle Josh

Just go and order dinner. for all you know she has a whiny voice that you can't stand.
Just see what happens. If nothing else, you get a nice dinner.

Go Josh!

If you don't try you will always wonder what might have happened ::yes::

What do you have to lose???

Let us know how it goes :D

yes yes go back, sit at her table, maybe sparks will fly! You have a great beginning of a 'how we met' story. Good luck and keep us posted!!

I think this is so romantic, Jungle Josh.:) Telling a woman you think she's he most beautiful woman you've ever seen is a good conversation starter.::yes:: Ginny and Josh--has a nice ring to it, doncha think? :cloud9: Good luck.
