Okay, I read all the guidelines (twice, just to make sure I didn't miss something) and none of this is covered!! How do I find out this stuff?? How do you guys know??? Is it super secret insider stuff? Do you just find it out after you do something wrong? Seriously...I have no desire to get banned, but if I don't know I'm doing something wrong...

If you were in the club, you would know. In the secret club...there is a link with all of the secret rules that only works once and is invalid after you read it (a self distructive link, lol) ...kinda like disappearing ink.

O.K., I'm going to go out on a limb here and make the following assumptions:

-Issues you have with the board are probably best addressed privately w/a WM. Yes, it would be nice to have an adult discussion about these things, but as far back as I can remember, discussing the why and hows of why someone was banned, why a thread was closed, or any questioning of the decisions made here have been off limits for forum discussion. My advice is if you have something that is really bothering you, PM WMKathy or WMAlex directly. Or even Pete. He's been known to change his mind before.

-Don't burn your bridges elsewhere, unless you don't care about being banned here. Might not be right, but **** happens. Anyone who has been here long enough knows all about the spin off site(s), including the mods. If you want to remain here, might be best that you don't say ** to a mod anywhere on the net. If it doesn't matter to you, have at it.

-Play nice. You can get your opinion across without sounding like a jerk, unless of course your sole intent is to sound like a jerk.

-Try and refrain from getting to the point where you are seething in a political argument. When you are seething, its time to walk away.

Of course, I'm only refererring to the collective "you", not anyone in particular, and only making observations from my years on the DIS boards, not making judgement calls or agreeing with one side or the other. Hope it helps!
