We just put in an offer on OKW that was accepted by the owner, so now, we wait.

We had a bit of bad luck recently with a Disney vacation that we had planned and cancelled at the last minute. Disney was very kind, and I think that is why my "Scrooge McDuck" was finally convinced that DVC was the right thing for us. The sad story:

We were scheduled to visit the World December 12, but three days prior, my husband landed in the emergency room with an appendicitis. He was fine, but our vacation was not! With the doctor's note, we were refunded the full purchase of our MVMCP tickets, and our friends, who were giving us points for a Christmas gift, were able to get their points completely returned and not put into a holding account.

We were devastated by the loss of our Disney Christmas, but we are already planning our next visit for the F&W festival. Maybe, we will even get to call it a trip home!

Thank you for all of the posts over the past six months, the information and your enthusiasm has been invaluable.

Sorry to hear your dh was ill, but hope he's feeling better now.

I like the happy Disney ending to your story though-----a DVC purchase!!! Good luck on rofr--hope it is a breeze and you close quickly to make your very own reservations. :wizard:

you'll pass the ROFR as long as your north of 65

jtiggercat -- Good luck w/ROFR !!! We can always use more people from the Pacific Northwest (there are more of us than you might think!).

Bongo59, I hope you are right! We are well north of that figure, but I still think we are on the borderline for Disney exercising its ROFR. I've watched prices creep up in the past six months, and we are on the low end. I also have not seen many posts on ROFR results from the past month, so I cannot even guess at how we will do. My husband is hopeful because there seems to be so much inventory available now.

calypso*a*go-go: I just wish we had teleporters--the flight is very exhausting. (Love your Liquid Sunshine description. We have webbed feet here!)

I agree, the flight is a killer. We did a red-eye for our last trip and vowed to never do it again. The whole goal was to have an extra day of vacation which we actually lost when it took two days to get used to a normal sleeping pattern along with the time change. Oh well, just another reason to go for longer periods of time!!!

We did the red-eye the first time that we went. Never again, and for the same reasons you mentioned. We couldn't get into our hotel until after 5 p.m. that day. We were among the walking dead by the time we got into the room. And the next day we were not at our best either.

We are playing the waiting game too. We just did the same today only it's for VWL. We now get to wait and wait. I refuse to get excited about it though knowing that Disney can snatch it away. I'm just going to TRY to put it out of my mind. Yeah, right!

I hope all goes well for you!!!!! Hopefully time will fly quickly and the wait won't be long!!! :D
