And it's time to bake!!

I'm not baking but if you have any extra of the pumpkin cheese cake things please send them north. They sound heavenly. :cloud9:

I made the most amazing pumpkin whoopie pies this weekend

:thumbsup2last week I made a peach poundcake, then Friday my 4 yr old dd and i made banana muffins. RIGHT NOW at this minute I have a strawberry poundcake cooking in the oven. It smells wonderful.:banana:

I just took blueberry muffins out of the oven for lunchboxes tomorrow. Tomorrow it's my mom's oatmeal raisin pecan cookies.

I made an old Pampered Chef recipe this evening. Apple Danish Braid. Google it. It is just devine. Apples, pecans, cinnamon sugar, sweetened cream cheese, and more. Great for the Fall.

I made apple crisp and apple cake last weekend. Check out Paula Deen's grangirl apple cake on her website. It is wonderful.

I am going to have to try the oatmeal rasin pecan cookies. Are you simply adding chopped pecans to an oatmeal cookie recipe?

Oh, and pumpkin muffins sound wonderful.

My Tina, aren't you the busy little baker :)!!! Those pumpkin cream cheese muffins sound devine!! :goodvibes
Our DD2 makes a cream cheese pumpkin roll for the holidays I just LOVE!

Matter fo fact, I did bake today! Our out of state grands were up and among lots of other activities, we mamaged to bake PBK Fudge Puddles as mentioned on N&B'smom Shelby's thread yesterday! Needless to say, we had fun and as always they were mighty yummy!! Even sent some with them on their long drive back to N.C. :goodvibes

Hoping to get some baking done tomorrow - for a charity benefit that's being held at least once a week for a local family in dire need.. A family with two children suffering from terminal illnesses..:sad1:

Every penny helps.. We've done bake sales; auctions; raffles; etc., but the bake sales really seem to draw in the money the easiest..

I'll be doing many varieties of muffins; breads; and donuts; - then brownies and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting..

I can use the added heat from the oven these days.. Starting to get pretty nippy here at the lake..

Serious illness is so heartbreaking, specially when it's children and takes it's toll on everyone. :guilty:
So nice you and town are helping C.Ann . God Bless this family in need ^i^

Yay, a baking thread! I have a punnet of blueberries waiting to find themselves inside muffins, although I'm also contemplating trying to bake a pear tart which I haven't tried before. Good luck with the baking tomorrow C.Ann, sounds like a very worthy cause!

Ok, I am gong on a serious RANT. I am so tired of hearing about your fall weather, and also enough with all your YUMMY sounding baking. Now you know I am just kidding. I am way jealous of you weather, it is 90 degrees here and I am SOOOOOO tired of it. And just how am I supposed to stay on my diet with all of the good stuff you guys are baking. You are just putting me in the mood to do it, and once I start baking I have to eat it.

Love this season! I baked an oatmeal casserole bread yesterday. Early in the week I baked a fresh apple cake with browned butter frosting. My DH has asked me to bake a pound cake for him to bring to work so that is next.

I made honey wheat bread the other day too!

Would you mind sharing the recipe? I have one that I saw on Recipezaar but have not made it yet.

Well, I am baking, but none of it will ever be eaten by anyone! I am baking all the pieces for my entry into the National Gingerbread Competition at the Grove Park Inn here in Asheville.

I have been working on it for 6 weeks now, all the small sugar details and the baking has just begun. I hope to begin assembly next weekend.

Linda

I love this contest! Please let us know how your gingerbread creation comes out!

Everything sounds soooo yummy. I am totalyl jealous of everyone making pumpkin goodies. The kids and I are craving pumpkin bread and pies and cannot find anywhere to buy canned pumpkin (or even pie pumkins if I am ambitious) here in Germany:sad2:

We have made two apple cakes in the last week from two different recipes (both of which we punched up with extra spices, etc.:thumbsup2) and plan on making apple crisps tomorrow (yes apple season is in full swing:rotfl2:). Tonight we will have chicken and dumplings--so not really baking but yummy anyway:love:. I may make corn muffins for the kids to take in their lumches tomorrow if I get motivated later today.

Wow, you my dear, have done some serious baking!!

Me? I whipped out some cake mix cookies a couple days ago. Not much effort in that, but DH likes them. They were chocolate, and I added half a bag of mini chocolate chips to the mix.

I have baked every weekend for the past 3-4 weekends. As soon as the weather gets cool I launch into baking mode. This morning I made pumpkin raisin muffins to bring into work. Last weekend I baked pumpkin pie and blueberry muffins. I still have some apples I would like to make into apple crisp but I have a busy week ahead of me so that will probably be next weekends project. I love baking weather.

That's a whole lot of muffins, OP!

Saturday evening, I baked a batch of sugar cookies using my fall cookie cutters. We had leaves and pumpkins. I was going to decorate them with orange and green royal icing yesterday morning. They were on a plate covered with plastic wrap, and I put them on the counter. The doorbell rang (darn JWs!), I went to the door, and the dog snagged the whole plate! He grabbed it by the plastic which stayed stuck to the dish and ran under the dining room table where he gobbled them down. He probably ate some of the plastic too.

Damn dog! He is the worst cookie monster I've ever known. He's none the worse for the wear either. You think all that sugar and butter would upset his stomach, but he's totally fine even today.

I'm baking banana bread today. And DS14 wants lemon squares. Since it's such a cold day out, I'm happy to bake! Just waiting for my Friendship Cake (not bread) starter to be finished on Thursday...yum!

Linda--good luck with the gingerbread! I love watching those competitions when they're on the Food network. I'm always so impressed by what y'all can do!

I am not a baker. But, it has been so chilly, I refuse to put the heat on until Nov. 1st, I am thinking of things I can bake!!!!

My DS and I made some Ginger Bread cookies today. He helped out a lot... He was a good cookie musher and awesome at sprinkling the sugar on. :rotfl: He is also an expert at eating half of them while hiding in the kitchen from me. :lmao: Guess there won't be many left for the girls when they get out of school today.

I love watching that on TV!!! There are so many different ways of making them. So interesting. Good Luck!

There's actually a shortage of canned pumpkin in the grocery stores in NH. Apparently, the crops were really affected by the weather this year.

I will be posting pictures here soon. I have most of my detail work done, and yes it helps to do it first as it last longer than the gingerbread. I started baking this weekend, and am now beginning to decorate the insides and outsides of my pieces before putting the whole thing together.

This has been quite the complicated design and has been really fun to figure out. I can't wait to begin showing it off! I can't do it too soon though, while there is still time for someone to copy or mimic my design.

I'm done baking for today - been at it since 7:30 this morning - and just came back from dropping off my donations at the church..

I'll definitely be baking again tomorrow (for the benefit) - as we're supposed to have rain and wet snow all day - which means even colder temps.. I probably won't drop those baked goods off until the following day though if it actually snows..

Even though I'm doing this for a charity benefit, I kept a little for myself as well.. I donated only the "best" and keep the so-so's for me.. I'm kind of nervous about doing the donuts tomorrow.. If they don't come out "plump" enough I'll have to keep all of them for myself.. Still have to do the brownies and cupcakes too, but they should be no problem at all..

I love to bake - and on days like this (currently 49 degrees) - it helps to keep it nice and cozy in here..:goodvibes
