And away we go!

Been watching a vlog from today and the ship just looks so empty. I hope things go smoothly for the passengers and I cannot wait to get back on board next month.

I mentioned it in a different thread, but what a lifetime opportunity to be on one of these ships with such a reduced capacity.

You can say that again. Obviously, I wish COVID never happened, but I'd be lying if I said that the sparse crowd on the pool deck didn't look like a little slice of heaven.
Indeed. We all know the risks involved, but it is truly a blessing to participate in these early cruises. Touring Plans reported unofficially that the capacity on the Dream was around 25% and it seems to be that way (viewing some of the vlogs) which is just incredible to experience and witness.

They just live-streamed that they were told twice, independently, that it was 1,500 ppl. It looks awesome.

Wow 25% ? I've been looking for that info all day.. thx for posting it.
For our Nov cruise even if its at 50% capacity that'd be amazing.

I Wonder now that the 1st ships sailed, what criteria was used by DCL to weed out 50-75% of those booked.

Obviously some things will be worse than usual, but I too will not miss the crowds! I wonder if the crowds will remain that low, especially over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

I assume the capacity will be quietly increased over time just as we saw with WDW. The question is when will it happen and by how much...? My Labor Day cruise is still open for reservations which tells me they have not reached their projected occupancy.

That seems like a really low number. I haven't heard of Disney asking for people to move from this sailing so this surprises me given the excitement on the boards.

Has anyone else seen the rumor that 400 families were turned away today for insufficient covid tests/vaccine documentation? That could have REALLY affected the numbers, if that’s true!

Whoever it was streaming on the TP page said she had heard that rumor as well, and while she couldn't confirm the number, she stated that she *did* see a few families exiting the terminal with luggage in tow.

Who knows where these rumored numbers came from? I doubt DCL would ever voluntarily disclose how many people were denied boarding, so I suspect we will never know the truth.

But then again, I wonder if DCL must disclose to the CDC how many people were denied boarding due to a COVID-related issue (e.g., failing the on-site rapid test). 🤔
