On our trip, we are planning on staying at a hotel in L.A., so we are going to fly into LAX. On our first day, we were thinking of going to the L.A. zoo, second day at Disneyland, then we have two more days. I was wondering what sort of things we could do with our 20 month old. I don't want to go to any more theme parks.

Have you posted your question on the Disneyland Board? Although you don't want to visit anymore theme parks, there are posts about other things to do while visiting DL there on that board AND a lot of the posters are Southern California locals.

Sorry, sorry, sorry. I just reread your post & realized you are from Hawaii. The So. Cal. beaches won't compare to what you can probably see everyday! Not sure how much you want to spend driving, but there is Legoland in the Carlsbad area. That would be about 1 1/2 south of the Anaheim area. In Orange County, there's South Coast Plaza - a huge mall. When we lived there many years ago there was a wonderful caroussel (sp!). Not sure what your little one would enjoy - Griffin Park Zoo in LA might be of interest.

I know you said no more theme parks, but I'd do some time at DCA as well as Disneyland, so I'd put 2 days for the DL/DCA pair.

Rascalmom-Griffin Park Zoo-is the the same as the Los Angeles Zoo? Thank you for putting in the time distance it does help cause I don't know where things are and how long it would take.
We wouldn't want to really drive that far, since we don't know the location of places.

Rajah-One whole day at Disneyland might be too much for my husband alone, so that's why I am not considering DCA although I would like to, and maybe will do that when my daughter gets a bit older so that she can enjoy herself more.

Did you hear that they raised the admission price like $2.25 or so.

Malls ::yes:: but not for my husband but I'll check into that-thanks.

There is always:

Hollywood - Walk of Fame - Find the stars homes in the Hollywood Hills

Or the Santa Monica Pier - Boardwalk

Universal City Walk - At the Universal Theme parks but no admission necessary - shops, restaurants, movies

you are going to be there during baseball season so you could check out a baseball game at Dodger Stadium or Edison Field (Angels)

I will try to think of more - but I every time I go to LA it's either for Disneyland or for business!!

Thanks Growin'upDisney :) . I wrote those places down so that I can do more research on them. If you do think of anything else, please let me know. I am doing some research myself at the moment on L.A.

Can anyone tell me more about Beverly Hills since we will be staying in that area.

You can window shop on Rodeo Drive in Bev Hills & have a wonderful lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. If you like Chinese food, there was (hopefully it's still there) a great little Chinese food restaurant on Camden drive (1 blk west of Rodeo) just south of (Little) Santa Monica Blvd. OH....I just thought of another wonderful restaurant but I forgot what street it's on "Il Fornaio" ~ it's one block east of Rodeo on the corner of (oh shoot, forgot that street name too!) Well, just walk over to the Georgio's of Bev Hills shop & then walk one block east from there & it's on the corner!! (These were all places I used to go to for lunch when I worked in Bev Hills.)

It's always fun just to drive on Sunset Blvd thru Bev Hills & then just turn down a street & drive by to look at the pretty mansions. You can get a map of the Star's homes. It's a fun thing to do. Baby will probably have a nice nap in the car!!

If you have time, go to Marina Del Rey ~ it's so picturesque. (Sigh...) I really miss living in CA!

Have a great time.

Thank you Mishetta. I love Chinese food so if we're in that area during our eatting times, I will check them out.
