Anaheim Islander Inn and Suites

Doing early research for a trip in August. We're coming from Canada (and thus will have $ flight costs) and also want to tour LA a bit so looking at keeping the budget down. Anyone stayed at Anaheim Islander Inn and Suites? It's a very basic hotel but price is very good and one thing that caught my eye is that they have rooms with 2 queen beds + sofa bed and even rooms with 3 queen beds (which means that our kids wouldn't have to share a bed). Also it includes breakfast and wifi (which we won't have otherwise coming from Canada so this is important). From google maps, it says that it's a 14 min walk. It's honesty kind of ugly but reviews on Expedia give it 4 out of 5. Anyone have comments about it?

Others I'm looking at are Desert Inn and Suites, Desert Palms (similar distance to Anaheim Islander Inn), and then a few on Harbor across the street but a bit pricier such as Park Vue (but still includes breakfast), and other possibilities that I'll watch the price on (since no extras like breakfast) as Topicana, Hojo and Fairfield.

Stayed there about 10 years ago, the reason why we stayed was we had a large family get together and everyone could afford it. For the price we paid it was worth it for all families. The Continenal breakfast was just a prepackaged muffin or donut. The rooms r large, I would bring flip flops to wear in the rooms as it wasn't the cleanest carpets. Have I stayed there since. No, when traveling for r own family of four prefer to stay at Marriotts either Townplace suites has full kitchen or spring hill suites has two double beds and a pullout couch as we have a ds and dd and both have a fair breakfast. Will you have a car? The further you stay the less expensive it is and free parking. We stay about 5 to 10 min drive from toy story parking

I checked that place out on both tripadvisor and oyster they seemed to rate ok for a basic place at a good price,within walking distance.... check out those sites they're great for reviews

We stayed there for 3 nights about 2 1/2 years ago and enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again if the price is right. Its small, basic and clean except for the carpet needs a good cleaning...something not unique to this motel by any means! Lol! I cant speak to the breakfast as we did not try it. The room had a fridge/freezer and a microwave so we bought and made our own breakfast items. The walk wasn't bad although by the end of the 2nd day, we were pretty exhausted. ART is an option and has a pickup out front if the walk got to be too much.

Thanks for the replies. I know it won't be the nicest or closest hotel but will still keep it on the list as a possibility.

P.S. at some point we'll rent a car but not sure at this point if we'll rent for our entire trip or just for non Disney days
