Can anyone comment on Anaheim Garden Walk?

Is it worth going to, say for dinner?

It looks like it would be a fairly quick walk from DLR's Harbor Blvd entrance, is that correct?

Do you need to walk all the way to Katella, or can you get to it on W Disney Way?

Is it something you'd be comfortable doing after dark?

We enjoyed the Garden Walk. There are some good restaurants and our favorite was Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. We stayed at the CCI, so walking from Harbor/Katella was very easy, even after dark. There seemed to be quite a bit of people on the sidewalk since the Ramada is is there too. One day we walked to the other entrance on Disney Way. I would say it's iffy with regards to walking that direction after dark, although a police station is pretty nearby. I wasn't 100% comfortable and I don't usually get worked up about things like that unless they are really questionable. Not that it's bad......it's just being smart. But, to answer your question about getting there, either way will work.

When we went this past summer we stayed at the Residence Inn right behind the Gardenwalk. We walked down Disneyway everytime to and from the hotel and we didn't have any problem. Yes it is more deserted than Katella. We ate at both California Pizza Kitchen and Cheesecake Factory. The one thing we found though the Cheesecake Factory doesn't have a kids menu(if you are bringing kids).

We walked everyday, not to the Gardenwalk but past it. :) It is walkable but if you have smaller kids I'd suggest driving. It's definitely worth it!!!!!! There are so many GREAT places to eat there! PF Changs, Bubba Gump, CA Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory.....YUM!

for those that drove to the garden walk, is parking free with restaurant validation?

anaheim Garden walk is such a shame it's really nice and all but no one goes there. I think it's a marketing issue no one knows it there and that close to Disney. Plus it's not Disneyworld where you think about driving to other destinations etc whereas at the land you tend to stay really close to Disneyland and don't think out the box. The resturaunts are really good

Our next trip we want to try Roy's Restaurant Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine

Good to know how it is. We will have a "free day", Sat, on our trip because it is a blackout day so we will probably visit Garden Walk. Would love to know the answer to the parking question too. :)

oops i forgot yes they do validate at least bubba gumps did.
you can call them their numbers are provided online

I've probably eaten 10-12 times at the Gardenwalk since it opened. I've never had a problem walking down Disney Way. The Pumbaa Parking Lot is right across Disney Way from the Gardenwalk, so if it's being used, there are usually people walking over there too (no tram service to/from Pumbaa).

And as tonaly and pycees312 posted above, parking is validated. But the first two hours are free anyway. I hope everyone has a great trip!

This is a wonderful shopping area also.
My 19 year old daughter and myself walked there on Saturday from Best Western Park Place Inn...very very easy walk from hotels on Harbor.
You make left on Disney Way from Harbor for hotels before Ramada. The mall is like the Block of Orange, if you have been there. If not, it is an outdoor mall includes movie theater upstairs, bowling alley downstairs. We passed the parking lot, which was on Disney Way right before entrance to mall. It is a very easy walk though, you can use a stroller for small kids.
Upstairs besides movie theater (which includes IMAX), has a candy store and a Japanese toy store (Hello Kitty, Dunny, etc)
Downstairs, clothes galore for teen and up girls. Boys too but I only am going by what we looked at. My dd got shirts for 3.99. There are good bargains and plenty of "fashionable" girl clothes.
Lush opens this week.
There are plenty of places to eat...or opening soon.
I would say, tell people about this mall. It will go out of business if people don't go there. That would be a shame. There was no one there when we went at 4 in the afternoon on a Saturday. About 25 people total.
We were going to take the ART to the Block of Orange until our hotel reception told us about this mall. It was nice and relaxing place to sit and hang out..:goodvibes

We get our parking validated just in case because we like to wander after we eat. :)

I was there for the first time last July, it was still working on opening but it was a nice place. I was hoping for more but it hadn't been open that long. I'm hoping to take the kids to CA Pizza Kitchen while we are there in a few weeks, I think they would like the food there a lot!

I just wish they had more interesting places to eat as I can eat at those places here. I just dont have a reason to go out of my way to eat there...or shop. I heard they were having some financial issues...sad. Hope it gets worked out and they get some business.

Oh see, we have to travel at least an hour for any of those restaurants. Even RFC, the closest is an hour away.

We don't have any of those around us either. I've always heard about the Cheesecake Factory but never been there.

I just checked. From Embassy Suites South on Harbor it is 1 mile, going down Katella. Guess if we want a break from all that DLR walking, we will drive. ;)

On our last trip we went to Bubba Gump's twice. I had to drag dh to take us there the first time (we drove from DLH). But we all loved it and loved the prices too. So we went one last time when we were leaving to come back home. And we will go back too!

The ribs are to die for and I love the shrimp sampler dinner (and they let you substitute for $.99 if you don't like one of the four kinds of shrimp).

does anybody know if the Garden walk is close to the new Worldmark resort? We are staying for 7 nights at the new worldmark resort and I am hoping Garden Walk is close....

We were just there, the new Worldmark building is right at the end of the Garden Walk block. VERY close. Are you owners at WM? We were considering it just for the Anaheim property but we decided to wait....I'd love some info on them if you have it. :)
