It is. You're actually walking in half of a HUGE "hidden" Mickey. When we stayed there in late '07 I kept thinking "why isn't this sidewalk on a straight line, it's making me crazy!" When I got home I googlemapped it, did the hybrid view, and you can see that when you're walking along the sidewalk before you get to Paradise Pier, it's Mickey. Which is why you're walking in big semicircles, LOL.
It's a pretty path with birds of paradise flowers, nice and quiet with the occasional jogger. Then you enter Grand Californian through their pretty doors, make a left down the hall, down down the hall, turn right through automatic sliding glass doors, go along the path, and you'll come out into Downtown Disney right across from Haagen Dasz and next to Sephora. Go on into the esplanade to choose either Disneyland or DCA!
I hope you get to stay on the ground floor, as they have hardwood floors on that floor. I have never looked at a hotel carpet in the same way, they just seem dirty to me, after staying on wood floors there!
