Anyone ever say at the Anabella? I like the location but I have seen mixed reviews. :confused3

:welcome: to the Boards

As for your question, I have stayed at the Anabella and it is a very nice hotel. It has good walking distance (I would say about 12-15 min walk to the gates).

The whole property is a nice atmosphere than most of the hotels around the DLR (not as better as DLR hotels and HOJO), but it is a very nice area to stay off-property. The good thing about the hotel is it is right next to the Anaheim Convention Center for anyone who is going there during the visit. The rooms are nice and comfortable. It has nice pool size for people to jump in during a long day at the parks. It also has a variety of different room types to choose, I have stayed in the Bella double double room.

The things I don't like about the hotel is that they charge a high price to park a car for a day (I believe it is $10 a night). They don't give you free internet, you have to pay to get on the internet. They don't give you continental breakfast unless you buy one of the higher price rooms to get the free continental breakfast.

We stayed there in December during the epic rainstorm week. We had a blast despite the crazy weather. We enjoyed Disney Christmas with less crowds than would have been normal. But, you asked about Annabella!

We were in a remodeled room so it was nice. My only complaint about the place is that the walls are paper thin. You could hear the person next door sniffle. I would not stay there during a busy season. We just wanted a place really close to Disneyland that was inexpensive. Used a AAA discount and paid $85/night.

Room was clean, it was all just fine. Nothing luxurious. But CLEAN.

I stayed there once back in 2006, for one night before the rest of the people I was with arrived (and moved to Paradise Pier.) It seems like a nice enough place, but I had a number of issues with my room, including one that required being moved to a different room, and just wasn't left with a very good impression overall. Your mileage, of course, may vary. I also found that it's a longer walk to the park gates than it looks.

We are staying at the Annabella in a few weeks. We chose the hotel because my husband will be attending a conference while the family enjoys Disneyland. I'm most excited about walking to DL along Disneyland Drive rather than along Harbor. I have heard it is pleasantly landscaped, and the walk is mostly on Disney property.

I'm glad to read about the thin walls before hand - I'll pack a sound machine for the room!

My sister stayed there and said it was very nice. But she will never stay there again because of the distance. For some, this might not be a big deal. She had little ones in strollers, and she felt it was too far to go back for a nap or to grab something you might have missed. And she didn't like walking that far back to the hotel after a day in the parks. But for others who don't mind the distance/walk, she thinks its a nice place to stay.

It is. You're actually walking in half of a HUGE "hidden" Mickey. When we stayed there in late '07 I kept thinking "why isn't this sidewalk on a straight line, it's making me crazy!" When I got home I googlemapped it, did the hybrid view, and you can see that when you're walking along the sidewalk before you get to Paradise Pier, it's Mickey. Which is why you're walking in big semicircles, LOL.

It's a pretty path with birds of paradise flowers, nice and quiet with the occasional jogger. Then you enter Grand Californian through their pretty doors, make a left down the hall, down down the hall, turn right through automatic sliding glass doors, go along the path, and you'll come out into Downtown Disney right across from Haagen Dasz and next to Sephora. Go on into the esplanade to choose either Disneyland or DCA!

I hope you get to stay on the ground floor, as they have hardwood floors on that floor. I have never looked at a hotel carpet in the same way, they just seem dirty to me, after staying on wood floors there! :)

We put in a request for a first floor room with wood floors. We'll have a stroller, so that first floor room is going to be a big deal! The wood floors sound so great, so I'm hoping they can accommodate!

I'm going to go googlemap it so that I can see the hidden mickey! Fun!

Thank you for the imput everyone! Does anyone know if the beds are comfortable?:lovestruc
