An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

DHS in the morning is a nice way to start off one's day.
It's great that you were able to get RNRC and ToT fastpasses, especially since you skipped the Toy Story craziness.

And, I agree, walking down Sunset Blvd is so much fun! Just seeing ToT in the distance makes it more exciting. (Not to mention having Starring Rolls on the end of the street.)

Curious to see what you thought of the new Star Tours attraction...

Sorry you had a crazy night at MK! Kind of glad we didn't attempt it now. Pizza and the movie by the pool at CBR seems like it was a good idea now. :)

That's so cute that Carter remembered pirates foot and the escalator!

You'll have to see the Indy show! I think Carter might enjoy it but Landon may not and could be antsy/bored. We've never seen Idol either.. no real desire there :rotfl: but I also always wondered if they really want the pass. I liked the new star tours better. Interested to see what you think! :surfweb:

Hope your day a DHS turns out great!

Pizza and the movie by the pool at CBR sounds wonderful! We should have done that, too! The 40th Anniversary really wasn't worth it, at least not for us.

I was very impressed with him remembering Pirates like that.

I'm sure we'll manage to see the Indy show someday. I'm always hesitant to take the boys into shows, but they are getting old enough now that they're starting to like some of them. I don't have much desire to see the Idol show, other than to be able to say I've seen it.

It was off to a great start!

Wow, the 40th at MK sounds horrible! I can't believe they weren't a little better prepared for that.

A MGM morning is the best kind of morning. :) I can't wait to hear what you thought of the new Star Tours. I'm nervous I will hate it since I really liked the original. :(

It does seem like they should have been more ready for all the people who wanted to be there on the 40th. I think the vagueness of the festivities made things even worse. Everyone wanted to see what would happen.

I ended up being really happy with our plans for the day. I was really curious to ride the new version of Star Tours, since I didn't like the first. It was interesting, but just so jarring. I hope you like the new one!

I know, but can they wait at least another 15 years before making me a grandma?? So not ready to be called grandma yet :lmao:

No hurry at all! But someday...:goodvibes

Sounds like a great plan, that way you guys could enjoy the thrill rides together :thumbsup2

Every time I go by Indiana Jones I think of DJ from Full House imagining Steve (her boyfriend) is in the show :lmao:

good idea going to DHS! I agree that the best part of the park are the thrill rides, and good thinking to conquer them when you had someone to wait with the boys!

I don't ever really know what to do with Everett at DHS, since he doesn't really like shows, and isn't impressed by TGMR. Maybe we'll try playhouse Disney in Feb.

I hope you guys enjoyed Star Tours! I know that I was really impressed with the changes.

Can't wait to hear what you thought about Star Tours! And that was really great that y'all still had some help with the boys & could knock out all the thrill rides. We LOVE ToT & RNRC!

Hahahaha! I love that! He's so smart. :)

Ahhh... Tower of Terror and RNRC are two of my favorites in all of Disney. SO MUCH FUN. Glad yall got to get FPs for both!

Yeah, I wonder about the American Idol Experience myself. It seems like they added it a little late in the game. I'm a BIG Idol fan, not gonna lie, and they added this attraction during season 8 of the show, and I mean, it's a popular show but it won't last forever. Then what will they do? I went to see the show once and it was fun, but it was something I probably wouldn't do again. Plus, the guy that won our show was too old to be on Idol anyway. BUT I have to say that I love that the 2 pictures you took are of Kris Allen and Scotty McCreery. Because I kinda love both of them, a lot. (Especially Kris Allen.)

Can't wait to see what you thought of the new Star Tours! I never rode the old one because I'd never seen any of the movies, but in the past few months I've been able to watch all six so I'm VERY excited to ride the new one!!!

I thought Carter was so smart, remembering his favorite ride. I really should have taken him there. :rotfl:

I love RnRC and ToT, too! Before we had kids, we used to ride those two over and over at DHS, so it's been interesting trying to figure out how to have fun at DHS with little kids.

It does seem like most of the popularity of American Idol has faded now. If they were going to add something like that, it seems like it should have been done awhile ago, but maybe it was really easy to do or something. I just think it would be so much more exciting to win something Disney related, even if it was just a Fastpass or something. I don't know much about the more recent Idol winners... Sort of lost interest after Season 3.:confused3

I find the Star Wars movies to be rather confusing. I've only seen the original three, plus the first of the newer ones. I remember thinking during the first one that that had to be the longest pod race I'd ever seen.

How clever of Carter to remember that? Too cute.

I love TOT...my favorite ride in all of Disney (I'll skip RnR though).

I'm often impressed by what Carter can remember. He still talks about Pirate Toes and Up Excalator and his other favorite Disney things.

TOT is so much fun! I do love RnRC, too. I could never pick a favorite.

Awe your boys are too cute"

Thanks!:goodvibes

I was really happy with starting off the day at DHS. There's always such a cool vibe there.
Since we had my parents there to help us, TSM could easily wait for another day. I was so excited to have a chance to ride ToT and RNRC and Star Tours.

It's especially fun to see ToT in the distance, knowing that there was a good chance I'd get to ride it. I was really hoping I'd get a chance to stop by Starring Rolls, too.

It's always fun to try out a new attraction for the first time.

Sounds like a great plan, that way you guys could enjoy the thrill rides together :thumbsup2

Every time I go by Indiana Jones I think of DJ from Full House imagining Steve (her boyfriend) is in the show :lmao:

I love getting to go on the thrill rides together. It's so much more fun than going alone.

I always think of Full House, too. I love watching those episodes where they go to Disney World.

good idea going to DHS! I agree that the best part of the park are the thrill rides, and good thinking to conquer them when you had someone to wait with the boys!

DHS has the best thrill rides, so it worked out great to go while we had extra people. I love getting to ride ToT and RnRC and of course, I had to check out the new Star Tours.

We had trouble with the boys at DHS for the longest time, since, as you said, the shows are dull for them and TSM is so hard to get on. We finally started to figure out how to do DHS with toddlers this trip. The Disney Junior show is great.

I never liked the old Star Tours, so I had low expectations going into it.

Can't wait to hear what you thought about Star Tours! And that was really great that y'all still had some help with the boys & could knock out all the thrill rides. We LOVE ToT & RNRC!

I was really excited to get to ride it again. I always like to try out every new Disney thing. I love having my parents along at Disney. It's so much easier to have little breaks from time to time. Me, too!

I love that you were the Rebel Spy! Isn't that such a fun and neat addition to the ride, especially if you don't know about it going in?! :goodvibes

What a fun day! I'm so glad to hear that Star Tours isn't as jerky anymore. I love that you got to be a rebel spy - that's awesome!!! I can't wait to ride it next December. Reid loves Darth Vader so I'm hoping he'll enjoy the ride.

I may have to look for those light up drum sticks when we go next year. Santa is bringing Reid a Lightning McQueen drum set for Christmas this year. I guess every little boy wants to be a drummer when they grow up!

Sounds like y'all had a great ride on ToT! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear how the rest of the day went.

So glad yall got to enjoy the two monsters of DHS!
I'm not gonna lie I skipped ahead a little when you were describing Star Tours because I'm gonna ride it really soon and I don't want to know what's gonna happen! Hahaha but very cool that you were on it! I guess I'll see what you wer talking about soon enough! :rotfl:

Awwww.. My Blake is wearing Carter's Buzz shirt today! :thumbsup2

I'm way behind, but I'll catch up here. How awesome that you were the rebel spy!! My older son got picked once and it was too fun. I'd love to be picked, and I am not a fan of having my pic taken at all! The new Star Tours is definitely a huge improvement on the old.

Hope the boys will get to meet their Toy Story friends!

Yay for being the rebel spy, you daring, rebellious spy, you! ToT is fab-u-lous, and getting a great ride sequence just takes the fabulosity to the next level! Carter is so cute pushing the stroller while Landon and Tigger ride in style. :goodvibes

That's hilarious that Carter wanted to go to pirate toes and the up escalator. :lmao: I have to admit, when I rode POTC, I was thinking about the pirate toes after reading about it.

DHS is a great choice. I hate the stampede to Toy Story though. It is a fun ride, but it is just insane. They really need more family friendly rides in that park. Before DS, I always headed straight down Sunset Boulevard. I could spend the better part of a day in that area of the park... at least until lines get too long.:rotfl2:

I'm glad you enjoyed the new Star Tours. I tend to get a little bit of motion sickness from motion simulator type rides. I was glad that it is smoother now and really didn't make me feel the least bit motion sick.

So glad to hear you guys were having a great morning :goodvibes

We went on Star Tours a couple of times and I loved that they picked someone from the audience as the rebel spy...that is SO cool you were chosen :goodvibes

Ah, being picked as the rebel spy on Star Tours must have been awesome. Talk about making a Disney morning even more magical. Plus, what better way to remember your first trip on the revamped ride...

In the picture of you holding Carter up to see Woody and Buzz, I can see the side of your singlasses, and those Mickey heads look very cool. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you and Jeremy were able to ride both RNRC and ToT. I bet it was a nice little getaway for the two of you, and any time you can go on thrill rides is a good time.

Sounds like your bad night at MK was trumped by a wonderful DHS morning.

You got to be the rebel spy, how cool! Man, a morning at DHS without the Toy Story Mania, er, mania really sounds wonderful. Makes me think about skipping TSM at some point on our next trip.

We've never been to the HIStK playground, is there stuff to do for little, little kids? I was thinking of taking our nephew (he'll be one on the trip).

How cool that you were the rebel spy! :cool1: I'm sure that made the attraction even more awesome!

I love the pictures of Carter "helping" push the stroller. He is getting to be such a big boy!

Too bad that they were giving you a hard time with baby swap, you must have gotten a real stickler. :sad2: We've had good luck getting the swaps without having Everett directly nearby for "proof", but I guess I'm glad that they aren't just giving them out to everyone. We work hard to earn the right to baby swap. ;)
