An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

I don't even wanna know WHAT my yard looks like in Portland! I'm sure it's scary beyond belief! Renters I think tend to let yards go in general.

Retention walls can be fun! Lobby for a fountain to stick on it!

I would like a fountain back there...not exactly sure how best to do it though.

There comes a time when every army must finally make definitive plans for the methods and timing of their attack; when all the possibilities have been researched; the routes, the equipment, the personnel, everything, are finally, as best as possible, understood.

Recall, dear readers, the decisive actions and heroic efforts taken by Gen. G. Washington and his troops when they crossed the Delaware River to stage themselves for battle. Let’s together recall the time that Paul Revere and Billy Dawes risked their lives in the concrete step of riding covertly to Concord to warn the Lexington Minutemen that the Red Coats were on their way to attack. Or perhaps a more distant and ancient account might illustrate our current Belle Battalion strategizing. Recall the Trojan’s building and launching their infamous wooden horse, in order to rout the Greeks, with a stunning and most awesomely clever guise.

The successful attack of any WDW Planning Battle requires many material steps towards making victory a reality. In fact, WDW Planning Strategists all over the world –even in far away Crapistan are hunkered down at tables, desks and even on the floor looking like this:

They are arranging and re-arranging their agendas. They are contemplating their plans of attack, and pondering which parks, which days. To mid-day break or not? They ruminate on their personal desires to see rockets red glare or not. If so, which nights? Which venue?

But perhaps the most important of all is the plan of feeding the troops! This area of strategizing is perhaps MOST crucial in these modern times because the Planners must rely on the Defense Contractor called WDW Food Service Industries (henceforth WDWFSI) to supply the troops with tasty (Dear God, we hope so!) and nutritious (well, maybe?) victuals to keep the troops full and happy. Not only that, but to ensure getting the times of their services that allow maximum tour of Duty Flow Factor, the Commanders-in-Charge must call a full 180 days before the food is consumed! Imagine that!! In normal civilian life, who in the world not only plans where they are going eat, but has the freedom to guesstimate WHAT they’re going to eat! It’s a phenomenon that only fellow compatriots who are similarly engaged in these types of combat themselves would fully understand!! Are we making progress??

You be the judge.

For the Belle Battalion, Saturday is that all-important, crucial day!! It is quickly approaching and all is in readiness. Spreadsheets are standing at the ready. Hundreds of dining reviews have been pored over, the choices have been made. It almost time to make those phone calls to Dining Command Center and lock those babies in! Are we excited?? Take a look:

I am so estatic, in fact, that I broke out into a little Victory Dance session!!

We ARE excited and ready!!!! But the more important question is-----

ARE YOU!!??

We are so excited about this, that it’s time for another game!! I call this one ADR Combat- ADRC for short. (We soldiers love us some acronyms, don’t we?) Here’s how it works. Everyone can play- this game lends itself nicely to an even playing field- meaning it operates on pure dumb luck.

I will list the ADR we want- the place and time. You simply tell us:

A) We scored our perfect, requested time.
B) We ended up with an earlier time.
C) We ended up with a later time.

I’ll give you about 24-36 hours for each one- and as always, there will be nifty prizes for the winner(s). I really don’t care if only 2 people play, but let’s see if we can top our list of 20 that played last time!! Games are fun, right??

You have 2 more days to “get your ready on”. I’ll post our first one on Saturday, then the answer will come Monday (of course, these are Crapistan times, so subtract around 12 hours).

Oooh another game! I'm in! popcorn:: Just remind me what choices I have for answers again when the time comes!

Those pics crack me up. Looks like you are really getting into this planning. I'm so excited for you. :goodvibes

OMG those are the BEST pics.

What is the giant long spreadsheet thingy??????? Did you tape all that together?

WOW.

It's HUGE! Like a process flow chart or something.

The entire thing just made me smile.

I love pure dumb luck. It's my strategy with my mom's Oscar winner poll. Jeff does actual RESEARCH and has won 3 years in a row. Gut instinct and dumb luck are FAR more fun.

Says she as she looks at her yurt.

Yay!! My first player!! I think it will be fun to ssssttttteeeetttccchhhh out the ADR process- more fun for me, suspenseful for you! :thumbsup2

I'll review the rules when we start- don't worry :)

I've been getting into this planning thing for a year now. I'm glad it's starting to wind down, and I can focus on important things like my scents of the trip and winow decorations. LOL!! :lmao:

Yeah, it's my excel days all taped together. It only looks that way because I'm the amateur that ever lived. I am still a concrete thinker- probably about a 3rd grade level- so I have to see everyday all strung together to get the big picture. My color coding works so that I can make sure I have enough time at each park. :rotfl2:

Then, if you like taking a stab in the dark, then this game's for you! :lmao: It's either on time or not!! The only thing's you have to go by are the popularity of the restaurants, the times we are asking for and the maybe, if you're really savvy the crowd calendars. Not much else there to go by. ;)

SOOOOOOO not buying the 3rd grade level.

Nice try though.

However you will, I think, appreciate the new garanimals approach I am taking to my binder pages.

It was a good try. But seriously, I gotta have it all lined out in one place, or I get messed up. Too many days to keep track of otherwise.

Sounds like I need to see the mix and match idea you have cooked up. See those 2 little books up there?? I call those the Mickey and the Minnie. More on that later. They have every little important detail I need to proper touring. Drink options, park hours, (soon added) ADR#s, itinerairies, my top 10 lists you name it...

Coming next month... Still working on the finishing touches. ;)

I knew you'd get the garanimals reference! I think you'll like it. I do. It's actually a load off of my shoulders in so very many ways.

Coming soon...after I update DCA trip pages though and the big reveal..and order those puzzles!

I like Mickey and Minnie....I was wondering!

ok, this game is up my alley, i am in. and just to let you in on a little secret, i didnt make my adrs on the big day, honestly i have yet to call disney and book my august trip:idea: (waiting on tax refund) but i did get all the adrs i wanted about 10 days after the magic day. only in the crazy disney world does one worry about booking food without having a hotel reservations

What can I say??!! I was born in the great year of '67 and donned Garanimals every day during elemtary school. I remember more than one hissy if my shirt wasn't "matched" with like kind. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, I can't wait to see your things. I have the dilemma of wanting to bind up my journals, but not being able to because I can't decide if I like the pages the way they are or not. It's so hard to know what pages might/will change.

Yay!!! Another player!! I like this game cuz everyone has a fair chance. I suspect most will be "on time", but Disney may throw a loopy on us and not come through. Time will tell!!! ;)

I'm in! :woohoo: Sounds like fun to me! :goodvibes

Cynthia, the wax on the tub or shower reference wasn't to leave on while your in there, you actually wax the said tub or shower, wipe down clean and then when you use the tub or shower everything will bead up and fall away, nothing sticks to it. :rotfl:
I would never have you in danger with chemicals near your skin like that. :goodvibes Sorry, I should have been more detailed.

Glad you're up for some raw fun!!

BY THE WAY!!!

:thumbsup2 You got it chick-a-poo!

Just read, great installment. I think I missed some others, where were you coming from and where you calling home? Were you coming back from the states back to Crapastan? I wasn't sure what the dealio was.

:lmao:

loved your picture story!! :thumbsup2

Of course I will play and I think I have already decided on a nifty strategy by which I will be able to get over the sheer luck factor!! :teacher:

Off to have a look at the rail journey now! :surfweb:

What a horrible end to the story! :scared1:

But those train toilets were quite common on German trains until recently as well. I think only in the last ten years they started to dissappear. But the garbage was never just thrown into the country side!

Here's the dealio... We were traveling home from the "big city" to our littler city. 23 hours by train. We could have flown in 2 and 1/2 hours, but by taking the train, we save over $1,000 for our family. Worth it?? I dunno.

I can't remember if it was one of the times we were coming back from Thailand or back from a conference in the big city- it really doesn't matter. But, it was just simply across the country we live in.

:lmao:

Wow! You might have to PM me your strategy. I think you may know something I don't!! :lmao: Something............... oh, wait, I think I just figured it out. If so, smarty pants!!! :thumbsup2

It was awful! Every last aspect. We've had much better trips on the train since then, but the garbage chucking never gets better here. They just don't get it. At. all.

:eek::confused::sad2:

THey are kind enough to put a handrail along the wall, so you can hang on for dear life. :yay:

Ok, now you have got me confused! I have a strategy on how to play your game, but it really isn't that smart... :confused3 I was just playing it up a bit! :goodvibes We will see how it works out! :rotfl:

Of course I will play and I think I have already decided on a nifty strategy by which I will be able to get over the sheer luck factor!! :teacher:

Now you can all guess who usually won when we played board games as kids... not much fun for me... :sad2:
But count me in, I will - as always - stick to my "strategy" of wild guesses and I'm sure I'll do fine!!!
