An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Once I printed out all of the smilies and their codes so I wouldn't have to click on them to put them in my posts. It was very handy to have. But, it got thrown away at some point. Just another tip.

LOVE IT!! I've learned everything I know here (which still isn't much) from other DISsers!! Lots of PMs and such!

We just make the youngest take baths in there and tell her to clean the sides before she gets out. Also if you clean it and then use the shower spray for the glass showers so you don't have the water build up, it works really well. Also car wax is a great way to keep things from sticking to the sides, and no I'm not pulling your leg. Once it's clean wipe down the tub or shower with a good car wax just like you would the car, and then wipe away! I think we heard about doing this with the Amway car wax, works like a charm!

:rotfl2: Cynthia, your talents and gifts couldn't leave you even if you wanted them too. I love it when someone stays true to who they are and how they are wired. :thumbsup2

See that would mean allowing children into our room. Which we do not. It is a kid free zone. They get their space, I get my space and we all get some shared space. It works for us. Really really well.

Although we have occasionally let Kendall use the big tub after a particularly wet and cold soccer game or if she's pulled something.

I believe you on the wax, that makes a lot of sense. Not entirely sure I could really relax though knowing I was surrounded by car wax...thinking I'd be worried about it getting on my skin.

I have SO tried the shower spray and have never seen much in the way of results. Comet baby, that's the only way to really get rid of soap scum on glass we have some special waffle weave glass...which hides the scum pretty well but is a bit harder to clean as well. Of course the real reason for the waffle glass was not to hide the scum but provide a feeling of privacy that the clear glass doors do not.

On the jacuzzi tub, here's the thing. I had had one before this house. Used it maybe once a month and that was largely pre-kids. It was a little easier to get at for cleaning but still, just a pain. No way to do it right unless you get in it. And lets face it, part of the joy of those things is using things like bath salts....all of which adds grime to the sides.

For me, the benefit (the muscle relaxing of soaking!) generally doesn't outweigh the fact that I really don't feel clean after a bath....soaking in my own dirt you know (not to be gross but...) and then seeing what is left on the sides thanks to the bath salts....I feel like I want a shower afterward!

I'm glad we have it, I guess. Jeff really wanted it. He doesn't clean it or use it either unless I bother. It would have been better if it was just a garden tub without jets b/c then it would fit both of us a lot better than it does now. I pushed for that and got shot down and the result was a smaller tub that doesn't get used as it's like twister to have us both in there without it overflowing. But hey, it's his birthday tomorrow. Maybe I'll clean the tub for him.

:rotfl:

Now of course he wants an outdoor one.....

I never take a bath because I only have a standard size tub - I keep telling Scott that I'd use the tub if he'd put in a big jetted one. Now I wonder if I wouldn't use it because of the soap scum - never thought of that!

I'd like an outdoor hot tub as well. Of course, those are life-size petri dishes, Cynthia - so have DH install an outdoor shower right next to it!

Okay, when you come down to use my hottub, which reeks of bromine, I promise I'll let you have a shower afterwards. ;)

Well my BFP for this is actually to do a salt water tub! Oh they are so amazing and your skin....wow! Truly like getting a spa treatment.

But yes on the outdoor shower. And chemicals. Right now we just have a giant hole in our deck where we had the deck stop in anticipation of the future hot tub.

That was 5 years ago...

Now THAT sounds divine!!! I'd love that!

5 years is too long- I think that should be replaced up at the top end of your wish list. :goodvibes

Sadly I'd guess it's about another 2+ years away. You never know but I'm not willing to give up vacation for it, Jeff isn't willing to give up his plane and it's not something we'd finance right now. That could change but not this summer. Maybe next though as we will hopefully be in a much different financial situation then.

My whole back yard needs help. Serious help. I do hope to get my upper patio done this summer. I've only been working on it for two summers now. For mothers day instead of my traditional Japanese Maple I think it's going to be....retention wall.

:rotfl:

OK, you guys... Let me just clear a few things up okay- since I'm getting roasted alive here...

I should have stated that that happens only in the winter, when my house hovers around 63 inside. I don't sweat- at all! And I literally walk out my front door about once a week; not even to feed the dog will I go out! I DO NOT like the cold, so I pretty much hole up inside. So really, for me, there is no need to wear the soup. In the winter I take a bath at night, and a shower in the morning both solely to warm me up. Did I mention I like to be warm?

In the summer, I DO WEAR it!! It is hot here- like 85 in my house hot, and yes, I do stink! EVEN WITH IT, l'd say that with aluminum or without, nothing's going to help if you're sweating all day long. So, come May, I'll dust off the old tube and slather it on with the rest of civilized humanity. And Glenn, you can be assured, I won't stink on the plane.

Well, mostly. HA!! Last time I flew home, I had 4 flights to ward off the stink. and mostly it wasn't working. I took a mini rinse off in the "Big City" here, and that worked until I got to Frankfurt, but all bets were off once I got to Chicago. Poor kid next to me. :sad2: I had even changed clothes, but I just wasn't gettin' my roses, cinnamon rolls and lavendar thing going.

OK, so just so ya know, I'm not like Shrek or anything, there just isn't a huge need for it during the 6 months when my "glisten" is frozen to my skin.

See? You're already missing my getting flamed out for my lack of deodorant style. :lmao::lmao:

I was SOOOO not flaming you!

Glennbo on the other hand...

:rotfl2:

:lmao: I know you weren't. I am still laughing!

And just for his comment, if I ever end up next to him on a plane, I'll make sure to whip out a Q-tip just for him. Are you listening to me, Glennbo???!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yikes! I didn't think I was flaming you either...whoops. Sorry! :flower3:

I did that too. I have a Word document with them because it takes so long for Internet Explorer to open up all the smilies when you click on "more". Also, in Word I can do a "find" to find one when I kind of remember the word for it, but not exactly. You can't do a "find" when the Internet Explorer window pops up.

If there were a top ten list for knowing you were a Dis/Internet addict, I think having a handy list of smilies might be on there. :rotfl:

I'm sure whatever you get will great and dat dere. Looking forward to de next installment don'cha know.

If the chit chat is about farting, I am going to have to go back and read all of that too...

My dog had really bad gas today! She is a 90 pound lab, and she is the only dog I have ever seen that farts like a human... It sounds like she is totally ripping them, then she is scared of them and tries to run away from her own butt... :lmao: It makes me almost pee my pants every time... Oh and the smell... :crazy2:
We had a dog who would toot and then turn his head to look where it came from !!:lmao:

how do you find all the codes to print out? I must have this knowledge if I want to keep my dis addict status.

:rotfl:

I don't even wanna know WHAT my yard looks like in Portland! I'm sure it's scary beyond belief! Renters I think tend to let yards go in general.

Retention walls can be fun! Lobby for a fountain to stick on it!

We could spend time concocting these lists- they might be pretty funny!

ok, comin' up!

Liesa, can you believe Tim is there right now?! :upsidedow

I know! I know! I know they're having so much! :yay:

Isn't that too funny!!?? They don that look of innocence like a kid who "hasn't been in the brownies".
