This is far outside the normal 'box' -- but one I'd really appreciate: Validated/verified ABC-viewer status.

I like watching the ABC shows through my iPad, steamed through my browser or even streamed through my Apple TV puck. However, my cable provider isn't on the list of "approved subscribers" so I'm blocked from viewing the most recent episodes. Wouldn't it be nice if being a Disney stockholder or DVC Member or AP holder (ETC) would include a validated ABC-viewer code?

Would be nice but giving you the code doesn't result in more money for Disney so it isn't going to happen.

I dunno, Bill -- it would allow me to spend more of my viewing time on their network rather than FOX, NBC, CBS, etc. This means I'm exposed to more of the commercials run on their network, right?

-more merchandise options
-more specialty meals (not free; just first-come, first-serve options)
-deeper recreation discounts

I can't remember if I overpaid now!

Sorry, I meant to insert the quote from Debbie but I can't figure out how to do it on my phone :eeyore:

Regular discounts on PAPs would be nice....

Affiliate and carrier fees are just as important, if not more so. Plus the possibility of "unbundling" the pay-TV market could have very negative consequences for TWDC, as media networks are the bulk of their revenue.

Brian,

Thank you for getting the thread back on track. That is a great link of relevant and timely (recent) info. Indeed, Media Networks are huge! Of this, I wonder how much is ESPN alone -- separated out from ABC, A+E and Disney programming? After all, ESPN has, for many years, driven channel bundling. All I want is ABC ... which I get over the air for free if I'm awake for the shows I like to watch. (Sigh, in a perfect world I'm out by 9p but am tempted to watch shows that start at 10p.)

Most of it is ESPN, followed by the various Disney Channels around the world. But, even with that, any crack in the bundling armor is dangerous for TWDC. Hulu Plus could also be an option for you, though.
