An 'Evil' / Disney Villain Theme Park...They can call it 'Dark Disney'

this is an idea i came up with a while back. what would you think about a new disney theme park in the U.S. that pays tribute to all the great disney villains. it can be setup like disney world, disney land, etc. but the rides are more intense, more thrills, more dark. basically more scary rides! whether that be roller coasters or new dark rides! but a disney park paying homage to great disney villians filled with lots of exciting new rides or twists on classic rides is somewhat tempting to me.

possible ride twists? how about instead of peter pan's flight they have captain hook's rummage (ok, i'm not very good at coming up with names, haha). the new snow white ride can be told thru the eyes of the evil queen.

and just flat out new thrill rides with a 'disney baddies' theme.

And think about the castle! they can have the Maleficent's Castle, or the wicked queen's castle from snow white. how about the queen of heart's castle? lady Tremaine? Cruella de Vil? There are so many wonderful disney villains. The majority of the characters you meet can be Villians.

all the wonderful possibilities. this would be great. not for kids though, hahaha. well, it could be...it would still be fun, clean fun. but just all the attractions centered around classic disney bad guys and updated with a little more adrenaline rush.

eric8: That is a GREAT idea! It kind of reminds me of the evil theme park that was in the first Scooby-Doo movie. Hahaha! That would be so fun! I'm not sure it would be very "kid friendly", but who knows? Good idea!

The rumors about a new park have floated around for a while that if Disney did another park it would very likely be Villain themed and cater more towards roller coaster/thrill type rides. However, both Eisner and now Iger have said several times in the past few years that their focus is on the existing parks and there are no plans for expand at this time.

(It would be great though!)

I think it's a great idea, but I don't see Disney doing something like this. I think Disney likes all it's parks to have something for everyone and since so many people come to Disney with young children, I don't think they would want to have a whole park that alot of people won't/can't go to because it would scare the pants off their little ones! LOL!

What a fantastic idea! It could be like a whole park based around Fantasmic! I would love that. More thrill rides, maybe a little more competition for Universal? It would probably have to be aimed a little more towards the older kids, but if Disney wanted to do it, I'm sure they could find a way to make it work for everyone - heck, my little kids love the movies, even though they can be scary!

I love those villians! When the first villian snow globe came out...I had to buy it! Love Villians in Vogue at MGM. They should do something with those villians. If not a park, then how about where the 20,000 leagues under the sea was...do somethig there!
