An early flight home worked out just fine

On our recent trip to WDW we got a really good airfare rate on a 9:00a flight leaving MCO. Although we hated the idea of leaving so early we decided to bite the bullet and save ourselves some $$$.

I must say, I actually liked the early flight and here's why... on departure day we're always so bummed about leaving that we have a hard time enjoying ourselves. When you have an early flight, you have to get up and go and don't have as much time to dwell on that fact that you don't want to leave.

So if you are considering an early flight to save $$$, I'd say go for it. Or, if for reasons beyond your control, you HAVE to take an early flight don't fret! It's not that bad.

I did this last trip. The 4am DME pickup sucked big time, but the airport was super calm and not crowded at all. I got off the bus, went to check in my bags, went through security, stopped and filled my water bottle with ice and water at a self serve soda fountain at MCD/BK (can't remember) and sat at my gate to eat my breakfast (brought it with me). Took less then 30 minutes (maybe 20 minutes), no joke. Would have been about 10-15 if I hadn't had to wait for the SW ticketing to open. Bonus that I was home by 2pm and had plenty of time to unpack, wash and relax before going back to work the next day. I hate mornings but I love early flights.

I've done it flying to a destination a lot as well and again, hate the morning but can't beat how uncrowded the airport and the planes are. One flight we all had our own rows. I spread out over my three and actually dozed off.
