An APRIL Adventure in Autism: 2008 (8/8) Time to Say Good-Bye....

Great updates Kathy!! I just got caught up, I loved that Billy was concerned about the butterfly getting away, he is just adorable. It was great that Tricia got to meet up with her friend. You have me interested in the Princess breakfast now.

Awesome update Kathy! I was very teary and emotional when you were talking about watching Billy with the "normal" kids. Wow..I can't imagine how that must feel...you are an amazing Mom! Billy is very blessed to have you....as blessed as you are to have him! :goodvibes

So cool that Tricia was able to meet up with her friend. That will be a special memory for her.

I don't do MS at all...orange or green. I get very motion sick and I, like Ed, just am not willing to chance it! I'm happy to sit out and enjoy the view while the boys ride. Good for you Ed!

Oh..my favorite part of TT...the part where you almost collide with the big truck. Scares the life out of me EVERY time!

Woo-Hoo! :woohoo: Soarin' here we come!

Welcome back, Tracy!! I can't wait to hear about Nashville...

Tricia and Catherine really had fun together!

The breakfast was very enjoyable... tell Bill there was lots of bacon and sausage!! :rotfl:

Aww, thanks! And I do feel blessed to have him. It could always have been worse, but for the grace of God. :worship:

And there really is zero motion sickness with MS Green Team... believe me, Ed would've let me have it if there had been!! ;) He hates that queasy feeling (well, don't we all?!)

Great update Kathy! I have a big smile on my face picturing Billy climbing into the simulator with the other kids! :goodvibes

Kathy, I am laughing so hard over the conversations between Tricia and Catherine -- such typical girl conversations -- I know I have heard similar ones! Then, I teared up over Billy -- first when he was standing to the side, and then when he rode with the other kids. How great was that?

That was pretty great... sometimes I forget how old he is because of his developmental delays and his poor language and social skills... It was good to see him sitting there with the others and not clinging to Mom and Dad!

It was also good for Tricia to have some "girlfriend time" in addition to family time!!

Thanks, Meg! He makes me smile every day!

He's also making me get off the computer right now so he can play his games!! :lmao:

See y'all later!

Kathy
I applaud Tricia for putting up with him best she can! That must take a lot.

Aww, we'll let Billy play his games!

(But then you get to read my updated TR ;) )

Great update Kathy....I love to hear you mention Billy's laugh. The one thing about my lil bro that I will ALWAYS remember is that when Matt started giggling, everyone else did too. You couldnt help yourself!

I'm glad the "other" kids rode with Billy, its always nice to see children accept a unique child more so than adults do. Children may be more honest, but they are also so much more loving. Cant wait to hear more :goodvibes

Such a great update! I am glad Tricia got to hang with a friend for part of the day -- and how awesome they really made sure Billy was part of the fun! You've got a great daughter, who can clearly pick good friends.

Thank you, that was very sweet of you to say!

Unfortunately, her friend Catherine will be moving away once school finishes for the year. :sad1: I am very sorry... she is such a nice girl!

PM-ing you about your brother...

I think its so wonderful when children are inclusive... and you're right, they do it from the heart, not because it is PC!

Kathy

Billy is lucky to have his family. Thank you for allowing us a glimpse into the joy and heartache that go with having an autistic child. I consider it a privilege to be able to share in your TR...

Love you Kathy:grouphug:

I'm getting all caught up after being gone for a few days and what a wonderful update to start with! :goodvibes

My heart was aching a bit for you and for Billy when you wrote about him not interacting with the other 3 kids :sad1:, but how fabulous that he rode in the "kid" simulator!!! I can imagine that his laugh is contagious - I can almost hear it as I'm reading along! :goodvibes

Great update! Test Track, friends, Mission Space, laughter.....:cloud9:

Yay - Soarin is next!!!! :yay:

Hi Kathy! I've finally gotten all caught up. I went on the Podcast cruise that Jamie was on, so I was spending a lot of time on that thread. When I got back from that trip I had a ton of work. It has been so busy hear at work I haven't had but a few minutes for the boards. I have been trying to get into shape so every night after work I have been trying to either ride my bike or hike. Then I still have to make dinner, eat and then I'm ready for bed.

Of course I have laughed and cried reading the rest of your TR.
What a great guy that captain Jack. Bossy Betty did not know who she was dealing with did she. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Sorry you missed the Parade at the P&PP.
I can't wait for the next installment. Now to read your PTR for October.

Hi Anna! :wave2:

You're right, it has been a long time!! Good to "see" you again!

I'd love to read about the Podcast Cruise... I'm reading Jaime's DL TR... where is the Cruise thread?? :confused3

Kudos to you for getting into shape... I've started back walking (just walking, mind you, and I'm feeling sore!!)
