Count me in as one who was offended by these posts. There are some things you just dont make fun of. Jesus is one of those. These posts went beyond distasteful, disrespect to our God and christians and blasphemy. I would only hope people think before they post like this again although based on the reactions that Im reading here wonder if they will. I do appreciate that the OP did appologize and hope that they never post under this SN again..

I must say, your avatar is particularly appropriate. :earboy2:

Not all Christians believe the OP was/is being blasphemous or that we need to feel shame for finding humor in this.

My goodness some of you wouldn't like the pastor of my church.
He often does little plays up front of the congregation dressed as Jesus. Sometimes "Jesus" Bob sings the blues (our pastor can't sing worth squat and his guitar playing stinks even more!), sometimes he does a great impression of a Righteous Rappin' Jesus. On more than one occasion "Jesus" Bob even did his sermon as if he were a Star Wars character. :rotfl:
His sermons as "Jesus" are hysterical and very memorable and the message isn't lost because we found ourselves laughing when it was told to us.

Excellent :rotfl: Now that is a church I would attend :teeth:

The difference is your pastor is giving a christian message while doing that not posting Michael Jackson jokes.

No, the difference is that, that pastor and her have a sense of humor. Stop being so sensitive I say. Seriously, giggle about it a bit. It will make you feel good ;)

Hate to break it to you but......... :teeth:

No, not that particular joke but there have been a few mild ones. :earboy2:

Our pastor and prior ones as well have said that God created us with smiles to light up rooms, voices to fill our ears with joy and senses of humor to help heal what's ailing us.

And to publicly answer a question I've been asked by several people. No, I'm not the OP/Jesus Christ. Uncle Ed, yes. HauntedMansionGeek, yes. Jesus Christ, no. :smooth:

There's no hope for me. I thought it was funny. And I have Buddy Christ sitting atop my television set. Kind of like my spiritual TV Guide.

I can tell you I was laughing when I saw your posts. But, I have a sense of humor.

It's called having a sense of humor...you just used the sense of humor God gave you to help make a few people smile.

I for one enjoyed the play acting. You and your fellow jokemeisters helped me over a small bump in my road tonite and I thank you for that.

Apology accepted even though I don't really think it was necessary. :goodvibes

This is the post I am am going to point out.

DisMN had said a few times that with all the shanagins, she thanked all of you, the celebs, she really needed the laughs. Isn't that what humor is all about? MAKING people LAUGH? Bringing a little laughter to some people who have not laughed for a long time, because they had nothing to laugh about ( I am not saying this is DisMN situation, maybe it is someone else's).

JC, I would not worry yourself. You came here with good humor, many people including myself went to bed with a smile on our faces, because of what we read here last night. It was our own personal comedy show, and I hope it DOES NOT END!

I love when the celebs visit the board. So, JC, Tommy, Nicole, Penelope, Mimi, Oprah, Napolean, PeeWee, William, Michael, Martha, ect...PLEASE don't let a few party poopers keep you away!

Dude, that is awesome! :rotfl:

I thought the posts were funny. I'm sorry, but I find prayer threads for materialistic things far more offensive.

Well, I didn't read the thread in question, but I think its great that you apologized. I also think people are entitled to being offended and if they express being offended they should not be told to get over it or find another message board. :confused3

Not offended at all, I thought it was what it was supposed to be...humor....and I laughed while reading the posts............but I could see this train wreck coming...

No offense taken. Unless you really are the ---- and you are watching us even more closely! :bitelip:

I have no problem with people being offended by the OPs posts. Each of us has a right to think what we wish to think, believe what we wish to believe.. Even me. I got a huge smile out of them and I needed that badly.

Silly humor, yep. Blasphemy? Nope.

and LoraJ, I agree with you most of all. :wave2:

While I understand the attempt at humor... I find what the OP has done to be in very poor taste. It was guaranteed to offend many here... even if the intent was benign. It was also a given that some here would take great delight in others being offended.
