An apology

Yes, I know you guys are already PO'ed at me enough for this screename, and I do want to say, this is a SINCERE apology, not as me "pretending" to be Jesus but from the actual me.

I have been giving all of this nonsense a thought, and I did realize something: Jesus is crying over this.

I realize how obnoxious and offensive I have been, and I just want to apologize to everyone I have offended, including Jesus and God.

I am a Christian, not a very good one at that, but I do believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savour and that he died for us. I just thought the whole "Celebrity" thing was really funny, and for some reason or another I signed up as "Jesus Christ". Originally it was just gonna be one post, but, at the time, it seemed funny so I kept on posting and posting, including very un-nice posts.

I really didn't want to post the apology on my other SN because I don't want you guys to hate me forever, but do realize that I truly am sorry, and I'm even sorry for posting the apology on this SN.

Some people are too serious and get their panties in a wad very easily. I only saw one person that took offense.....no big deal - don't sweat the small stuff. I don't think you are going to hell for posting under the username Jesus Christ.....you might have even scored brownie points for giving us mortals a chuckle...LOL.

I for one enjoyed the play acting. You and your fellow jokemeisters helped me over a small bump in my road tonite and I thank you for that.

As the person who I am sure is the one who is assumed as "taking offense" I think it is great of you to make the apology.

I may be the only one who posted, but there are others that took offense. For the record, I am secure in who I am and secure in my faith, and I am not easily offended. However, whenever there are any threads here where Christians state thier beliefs, there are a very large number of poster's to tell us how offensive and judgemental that we are - but I have never seen one of those posts make fun of another's religious beliefs however, and I think a lot of this stuff was really crossing the line into being extremely distasteful.

Maybe to you, but to me, and obviously the OP, Jesus deserves respect.

You may think I am crazy, a religious-psycho, whatever, and that is fine with me. But if someone is going to say something that I find is offensive to my faith, I am going to say something, no matter how un-politically correct or unpopular my opinion may be. What I think of myself is more important to me than what other people think of me. I felt like things were really being disrespectful towards my God, and would not have though well about myself if I did not say somthing about it. If you think it is nothing, you are entitled to that position, but to me something needed to be said.

I think you are taking an internet BB too seriously. All opinions are welcomed here....and if you are going to get seriously offended when anyone is "disrespectful" to "your God"...then you might be more comfortable on a Christian BB. I hope you don't take offense to that but there are many here of different faiths and you aren't guaranteed to not be offended.

I was totally offended by these posts. I accept the poster's apology. But it saddens me that some people really could care less if someone was offended by this. Personally I always try and make an effort to never offend anyone with whatever I post. I may not have always been successful, but I try. There are a few things I never would do. And on the top of the list is making fun of God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. And I'm not a very devout Christian. I haven't been to church in months. But this whole thing rubbed me wrong. Wrong to the point of considering signing off for good from the Dis. I can't even explain why I feel that way. But I do. Of course I doubt many people would care because I'm just "overreacting". Who knows, maybe I am overreacting. It's late, I'm tired. Maybe tomorrow I'll feel different. Maybe your right tiggersmom2, maybe I'm taking this too seriously. But for those of you who think it's no big deal, all I can say is shame on you! Take that any way you like. After all, that's my opinon and it's welcome here. Right?
