An American Girl Question....

I ordered DD an American Girl doll for Christmas. She asked Santa for that and a color Pixter. Now, she has decided that she would rather have accessories/clothes for her AG doll & coconut than a Pixter..... My question is: Will they have another sale before Christmas or is this it? Today is the last day for the $10 off $100, so do I need to make a decision today or do you think they'll offer something else before Christmas? I don't mind her not wanting the Pixter as much since I am getting her a pink Leapster and I was wondering if they were too much alike already. Anyone order from them a lot and know the answer?? Thanks! :)

Honestly I dont see alot of special offers like this from American Girl and we do buy from them at least a couple times a year...

They don't very often have specials like this, but they always have a sale and clearance section on their website. Keep an eye on it frequently. They are always adding new accessoris, so lots of the older stuff goes on sale. Especially the holiday items and the Today Girl clothes. The accessoris for the Historical dolls doesn't go on sale much. Their clothes stay consistant.
We felt everything American girl was really worth the money. My daughters and their friends played exclusively with American Girl things for 4-5 years.

I ordered After trying for 3 hours!!! Ugh, their site was going crazy and their phone lines were overloaded, but I finally got through. ::yes::

What kind of gift with purchase did they have last year?

I was never able to get through my order yesterday. After 1 1/2 hours of being stuck in their web site I gave up. I had also tried calling the 800 number many times only to get a recording saying that they were busy and to try again later. Oh well, she may get a few less things.

I finally told my mother that she could buy a Bitty Baby for my DD. She's been waiting and waiting for the chance to buy an AG doll since my DD was born. She went to the store in Chicago and I think she went a little overboard. She was talking about buying a double stroller along with the doll. Now that I look at the website I bet she bought the Bitty Twins instead of the single baby I asked for. Grrrrr!!!! My mother is on a fixed income and it makes me crazy when she spends a lot of money on my daughter!

Your daughter is adorable! Your mother probably just can't resist the temptation to buy that cutie anything and everything:p

last year the gift with purchase was accessories. you could of picked out outfits, books, and accessory stuff(shoes, hair ribbons, etc) I like the outfits. And hope that this sale starts soon.If they are even doing something.

Thanks! It's just frustrating that my mother spends a lot of money on my DD when she doesn't have a lot to spare.

Hi

robinb.......I noticed you were from Madison. Do you ever go to the American Girl Sale that the Madison Childrens Museum holds every summer?? I use to go every year, but haven't the past few because my girls are teenagers now. I think I'll try and go again this summer because I'd like to pick up the dolls we don't have at half of the cost. That was the best sale ever, but it was a total madhouse!I started going before they started selling tickets through ticketmaster. We use to get there the night before!!

I pm'd you this info too. Wanted you to see it one way or the other:

My friend was able to place her order today. The links were still working. Since they had so much trouble last night, I think they've extended it for a day. Also, I'm sure you could call and tell them you tried to order last night and couldn't get through. Good luck.

I'm glad you posted this info. There is also an American Girl outlet store in Oshkosh....they usually have girls clothing, books/craft kits, bitty baby outfits and if you are really lucky AG outfits.

I don't know if they would sell anything over the phone w/your credit card or not. If you'd like the phone number send me a pm and let me know.

Cathy baby RN: No, I have not been to the AG sale ... yet. I was waiting until my DD was older for one of the regular dolls, but then I found out about the Bitty Babies this year. I couldn't make it in 2004 because I had tickets to the Cubs game.

2minnies: Is the AG store in the outlet mall near the EAA?

Do you sew? The pattern catalogs have patterns that look just like the AG dolls. You could make a whole wardobe for the cost of one dress.

It could also serve as a learning experience for your daughter. I learned to sew when I was in 3rd grade. I remember specifically because I had Scarlet Fever and missed a month of school. I remember lying in bed hemming things.

Yes, the outlet mall in Oshkosh is right off the highway and close to EAA. Oshkosh is not that big of a town, so it will be easy to get to.

Haven't been in a couple years, but they had more girls clothes than doll clothes.
