An Adults Only Trip! APRIL-MAY 2014 ANOTHER Resort Change Deluxe Dining!

Sorry for the long break. We are homeschoolers and so things get wild and crazy. We also just had some therapy consultations for our 4 year old and other appointments.

I sure stay busy! I've also been going to the gym 4 days a week. I want to run a 5K before I turn 31 next July. Then we can talk about running some Disney races. ;)

Loved Be our Guest lunch ... if you go on a park day that is not crowded in MK your wait could be less than 20 minutes. The dinner menu looks sufficiently different that it is on my "eventually" list.

We though Tusker House was great, the value for the food was very decent. We went for brunch though ... got one of the last seatings that was not lunch with the intention of doing a few rides, then going to sit down so we wouldn't have to rush through breakfast/character experiences. The character interaction wasn't one of the better character meals I've had, but it was okay ... good for photo ops, nothing exciting.

For some reason this is high on my husband's list. LOL So it is on our list. I hope we enjoy it. I found some pictures of the selection and it looks like everyone should be able to find something.

He's a big Donald fan so we'll get a picture with him too! :)

Subbing! We'll be at POFQ in Sept, so I'll let you know what we think.

Very jealous of your adults only trip. Every time I go (since having kids) it's just me and my daughters.

I love Kona for any meal. This year we're trying San Angel Inn for the first time because my DDs love the Mexico pavilion. We're also going back to SciFi for the third time. And I think I would go to Crystal Palace for breakfast even without the kids.

Can't wait to read more as your trip shapes up!

Cheryl

Ohhhh do report back about POFQ! Our Disney love is a pretty interesting story.

So I grew up in Florida until I was 8 or so, but my grandparents were in Tampa. So I grew up on Disney. Our high school band even performed once.

Brandon had NEVER been to Disney. He grew up going to Myrtle Beach and Six Flags Atlanta.

I *finally* talked him into going to Disney in 2010. We had four kids, 7 and under that December. He questioned everything. Did we *really* need to use up a week of vacation for this? Was he going to be bored after that long?

His famous words were "We will go once for the kids and then that is it."

Ha.

I studied my butt off and read everything I could get my hands on. I was determined we were going to have a great trip.

About 2 hours after we arrived via Magical Express, he uttered the more magical words! "Next time we come..."

Since then we've snuck off twice without children. We are going to do one more, then we'll be SURE to get a family trip in. Otherwise, the children may revolt!

I'm still around.. Brandon and I are working on our degrees so everything is a juggling act these days.

Thinking about Disney gets me through the hard times!

I wish Disney would post the hours for April/May... or maybe some promotions but I know it is still too early.

C'mon Disney! Throw this girl a bone!

I'm eagerly counting down to our 180 ADR day. Hours still aren't out, so I'm not sure when I'll book the breakfasts that we want to do before rope drop.

Any thoughts? We will be relying on Disney Transportation, if that makes a difference.

OH! And we are tentatively planning an October 2014 trip too for all 7 of us!

:thumbsup2 :cool1:

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... it's still a secret.

I finally found my old pre-trip report.

A few updates (Don't throw tomatoes!)

I called when the Spring Promotion came out and ended up changing to Caribbean Beach- King Preferred. Yes, where we started this whole thing at! :rotfl2:

French Quarter only had 5% off and I just couldn't do it! :confused3 I'm a bargain shopper/budget stretcher by nature and just couldn't do it.

Oh well, we are back to where we started!

Also! I have our reservations made and a rough itinerary made. Just waiting for our Fastpass+ window to open. :thumbsup2

A few things have happened since my last check in.

We've paid off the trip-- in cash-- well errr... in giftcards for the discounts but no debt! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We bought airline tickets. We got the first direct flight out of Richmond and one of the later flights with a reasonable layover in our home state. We will be laying over in Atlanta, which is one of our favorite airports.

This gave us a few more hours in our special place. :)

We've done our Fastpass+ selections. :cheer2:

And I got a Fastpass for BOG for lunch. :yay:

We have one night with no reservations and one night with Be Our Guest for a second time. The night that we have none, we were thinking about Beaches and Cream or ESPN. We've never been to the Boardwalk at night. SHHHHHH don't revoke my Disboards membership card. But that is on the "must do" list.

Depending on if we like BOG we may change the second night. DH says that he is let down by the dessert choices. We may change the second one to something in Downtown Disney. We'll see!

So I clicked on your TR link and just have to say that

You have a beautiful family!
You have a lovely house!
You have had one heck of a 2013.
You TR plans look great.

How unbelievable that your son needed to be intubated for a croup attack. Wow - that is really unusual. Did he have epiglottis? My son had croup constantly when he was young and it was always a very scary night.
