I know that with CRO you can add a person at check in or after and simply pay the extra adult charge for the nights. How can I work this with my DVC points stay?

For our next trip we are doing:
2 nights cash (hopefully AP rate) at the Poly (me, 2 DDs and DM)
7 nights BLT on points 1 bedroom (me, DH 2 DDs. 1 night with DM then she is off to Cocoa Beach to stay with DB. )

Is it "legit" to tell CM that we have one extra guest for one night at the time of check in? We have the dining plan and I know she won't be eligible for that. We don't want to add her to the ressie because then we have to pay for her on the dining for all nights even though she is only there one night. The room will of course be fine for the 5 so we aren't trying to "cheat" in that sense.

Now part 2 of this question. My DB finally found a job, he is a pilot that was on furlough after the airline was bought out. It could be easier for my SIL to bring my mom out to us the night before she leaves so we can get her to MCO the next afternoon without SIL having to take time off of work, if DB is flying. So that would be another night of an extra guest in the room.

Part 3. Would DM be eligible for ME to MCO ? If so, do they allow last minute requests for ME?

Goodness... why do I need to confuse myself like this
TIA for any input.

Anyone staying in your room should be registered. You pay for the DDP for all registered guests for the entire length of stay for the group, not the one Guest.

All registered Guests can use DME.

As stressful as it is, your DM is supposed to be on the reservation for the entire time. In order to qualify for ME, she must be on the reservation.

I don't know how it works in terms of adding ME at the last minute. But, even so, I don't know how you would be able to add her at check in for just one night and then come down at the end of the trip and add her again.

And, since DVC pays for the dining plan at check in, adding her then may not cancel her out of it and it is possible that they won't allow you to add her at that point. I have never tried so I don't know if that works or not.

Obviously, the problem is the DDP, otherwise there would be no reason not to have her on the reservation from the start.

Under the rules of the DDP, what you propose is not allowed. IT would probably be best to drop the DDP from your stay, and add your mother as a guest to the reservation for the length of the trip, that way you can make ME arrangements without hassles, even thought she will be staying a shorter time than the rest of your party.

The DDP was not designed to add/drop guests during a stay, it was designed for the cash reservation division, where the vast majority of parties travel together the entire length of the stay. It just isn't always the best option for DVC stays, as DVCers often have different arrival/departure days within their traveling party.

Also a reminder to all before others may make suggestions...the DIS does not allow suggesting ways to violate established/published Disney/DVC rules.

Thank you for the replies.

I am thinking of adding her to our reservation for the entire length of our stay. We are only doing the basic (1 TS 1 QS) plan so it isn't TOO expensive. Now before I do that, is this allowed?....

Because she is leaving can we still use the dining credits that would have been intended for her? That isn't violating anything is it? We have 1 signature booked and this would aloow us to not pay OOP for one meal if we chose to do a TS meal every day.

TIA

Yes, you may use dining credits any way you wish, using them for Signature restaurant meals, or additional one credit meals.

:) My MIL did this with my BIL credits after he left her room last year. Worked out great for her with a couple of QS meals. We tried to do the signature meals that he enjoys while he was here. So we basically used up the TS credits first.
