Amy's New Start : Comments Welcome!

Only 6 more days!!!!:banana::cool1::yay::woohoo::cheer2:

Did you guys get snow? I heard there were storm warnings for Denver yesterday. :( Didn't Mother Nature get the memo? It's finally spring! :sunny:

Have a great day!

Thanks everyone. I never seem to get on here on the weekends. Partly because both kids had so much homework to work on, it was hard to get any computer time for myself!

We did get snow on Friday, quite a bit but its mostly gone now. Now we are supposed to get more tomorrow. Yuk. Good news is that Friday looks good, for 9 months I have been worrying we'd get one of our famous 50" March blizzards but thankfully that won't be the case.

Food this weekend was really bad. I mean really bad. I have probably screwed up getting my star on Friday, it was a long shot anyway. Today has been good and I have been slamming the water. I plan to walk for at least one hour later.

I'll have to catch up with everyone a bit later. I am trying to get some stuff done before the kids get home and then I have to take them both to the usual Monday stuff. I am ready for a vacation!

Amy, Don't worry about this past weekend and the food. Every day is a new beginning! Just stay focused this week and follow your eating plan for WDW and you'll be just fine. I'm sure the week will fly by and then you'll be on your way. I am soooo jealous! LOL

Have a great week and wonderful trip!

3 more days!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Hopefully you wont' get too much snow today. But it will make you appreciate being in Florida all the more. :goodvibes Be careful on the slushy roads.

so the weekend was bad. Must have been a really good weekend for the food to be so bad. :thumbsup2 Do you all watch basketball also?

Thanks Denise and Lisa. We are supposed to get up to 10" of snow tonight, into tomorrow. Springtime in Colorado.:sad2: The good news is that it will melt quickly since its supposed to warm up by Thursday. Better news is that its supposed to be in the high 70's and low 80's over the weekend in Orlando!

Yesterday and today were perfect with food and exercise. I know the 15 pound star probably won't happen but as long as I keep my losing streak going for Friday's weigh in, I am happy. That will also motivate me to do better over our vacation.

I have been a bit bummed because when we went to WDW in the spring of 2006, I got my 20 pound star the day we left. I have worked what I know is harder this time around. Then it hit my feeble little brain that back in 2006, we went a whole month later because in those days my kids were on a different school schedule and our spring break was the end of April into the middle of May. If I had another month, I probably would get my 20 pound star this time too. Nothing like remember only part of the story to bring me down!:rolleyes1

We are having some friends over to watch the Nuggets tomorrow and I asked her to NOT bring chips and dip. I told her I'll make a veggie tray instead. I cannot be trusted with chips or dip thank you very much! Lord help me if they have Wavy Lays with ranch dip for a snack credit at WDW!:rotfl:

Lisa: We are having thunder snow as I type. Lightening, thunder, rain and snow all at the same time. Don't you wish you still lived in Colorado???;)

Denise: I wish you were going to be in WDW too! I know you love Port Orleans Riverside and I promise to think about you when I am there.

Did you say 10" of snow?!?!?!?:scared1: Good thing you're going to Disney in 2 days!!!!!:woohoo: Just in time to leave winter behind!!! :sunny:

Remember how we were talking about Weight Watchers at Disney? I was browsing Amazon and found a book called The Healthy Guide to WDW 2009: How to Eat Right and Stay Fit in Disney. Since my library didn't have it, I decided to go ahead and buy it. If I don't like it, I can always resell it on eBay. ;) I'm not sure if it has WW info in it or not, but I'm looking forward to reading it. :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tracy, we actually got closer to a foot of snow! The kids have a snow day, dh is working from home, and I am not sure I can get to the gym but if they are open, I'll try to go this afternoon.

Days like this are a challenge, we are stuck inside, the power is blinking, the routine is off kilter and I need to be very careful not to fall off the wagon!

Hi Amy
I just read an article about y'alls snow and thought I would check in on you. Glad y'all have power even if it is blinking. Be careful if you go out. :goodvibes

Great idea to tell your friend to leave the chips and dip at home. A year ago you wouldn't have said anything and prayed for will power. You have come a very long way my friend. :thumbsup2

You know, I really enjoyed living in Denver, very different from where I grew up, but......one winter was enough for me thank you. :cold:

Only a couple more days:banana::banana:

Tracy, we actually got closer to a foot of snow!

:scared1: Oh my goodness!!! Aren't you glad that you're leaving for Florida soon?!?!?! I hope the snow isn't coming out our way. I put my winter coat away already! LOL!

How's the packing going? Are you guys all finished?

Hope you have a great afternoon! Stay warm!

Thanks Tracy and Lisa. The snow is already starting to melt, it was this heavy, slushy stuff. Lots of power lines down, thankfully we are in a new part of town where they are buried but we did have some flickering lights and every time, I held my breath and they did come back on!

Packing is almost done. I have a few things I can't put in until Friday, but everything else is done. I got the bathrooms deep cleaned today and put dd to work polishing up my stair bannister (the kid loves to clean so I guess she is my kid for sure lol). I have this thing about leaving my house super clean. It makes coming home easier! Plus, I can't stand to have my friend and her son who take care of the dogs come in and think "what a bunch of slobs"!

I did very well with food today. I came in right on points, I looked up the points for pizza, I had 3.5 pieces (I cut them very skinny though because they are easier for the kids) which was about 2 regular sized pieces. And I had a huge salad and a bunch of carrots and celery. I am pretty proud of surviving pizza! I also didn't make any sort of dessert, none of us need it and our friends are worried about their dd, she's a bit overweight and I try to support their efforts by not having sugary stuff when they come over.

I did make it to the gym today, I only got in 45 minutes but I busted my butt and left sweaty so I am taking that as a good sign. I did 20 minutes on the bike and 25 minutes walking. By the time I got there, the sun was out, the main streets were all plowed and even dry in some spots and the side streets were just slushy. Dh and ds got their workouts by shoveling not only our driveway (and with a three car garage its a biggie) and sidewalk but did our neighbor's too. Bless ds' heart. Ever since her husband died a year ago, he makes sure her driveway and walk are always cleared off. She can't figure out who is doing it, I guess if it snows while we are gone she might then know who her snow shoveler is! I always tell ds his grammy is proud, after my dad died, she had a few nice neighbor guys who watched out for her until my brother was old enough to handle it and now her grandson can pay it forward!

I can't believe my trip is this close. I am really hoping the scale shows a good loss. I had a horrible Friday night and an even worse Saturday but its been good since then. Still you never know what the old scale will say!

:woohoo: one more day! :woohoo: I hope you have lots of busy work to do (yeah, I know who doesn't) to keep you busy so the time doesn't drag. :thumbsup2

Glad the snow is melting. I hope all of those poor people have gotten out of the airport by now. Bless their souls, I would hate to be stuck in an airport.

Kudos to your DS. He is such a great yound man. You have done an excellant job raising him. :goodvibes Kudoes to you and Dan also. :thumbsup2

Tomorrow is the big day!!!! I bet everyone is so excited!!!:woohoo::yay::banana::cool1::yay: :cheer2:

That is so sweet and thoughtful of your DS to shovel the neighbor's driveway for her! :goodvibes You must be so proud of the young man he is becoming!::yes::

I pray that you and your family have a WONDERFUL time in the world! :cloud9: Don't forget to have a drink or two for me! ;)

Safe travels!

Thanks LIsa and Tracy, I am almost ready!

I just about drop kicked ds tonight, he has some missing work that is still not done. He is doing so well in life, if he would just put more effort in school! Drives me nuts. So I got to berate him for a few minutes which probably didn't help at all and just frustrated me to no end. Crazy kid.

I did well with food and exercise today. Got 1 hour of aqua and 40 minutes of walking. I was walking fast, I am amazed at how much my pace has improved. I am thinking that once we get back, maybe dh and I can start up some jogging. Speaking of dh, he weighs less now than he has in probably 10 or more years. I think he's lost around 12 pounds, which is a lot for him considering he wasn't even overweight to begin with. This should really help with his liver funciton and blood pressure. The Wii has really worked for him, I finally found a present that he actually used!

Tomorrow is weigh in. Normally on a week when I am set to travel, I'd bag good habits and think "I'm too busy to cook and work out". But not this time so I consider that a positive sign. Now I just need to limit my Mickey Bar intake and it will all be good.

I'll post my weigh in results when I get home tomorrow. I am hopeful for a loss of some kind.

:wizard: for weigh in tomorrow. Although I don't think you need any. I think you have been doing FABULOUS!!!!!

I hear you on DS'. Mine brought home his report card. Not good and he is going to be grounded from just about everything now. :sad2:

But....back to your trip. Have an absolutely MAGICAL time. Can't wait to hear all about it. :goodvibes

Sending :wizard: for weigh-in. You've been doing a great job this week!:cheer2:

Today is the big day!!! I am so excited for you, Amy!!!:cool1::yay::woohoo::cheer2::dance3::yay: I hope you and your family have a wonderful, relaxing vacation! :cloud9: Tell Mickey we said hi and don't forget to have a drink or two for me!:thumbsup2

Thanks Tracy and LIsa. I got my 15 pound star!!!!!!!:cool1: In fact, I lost 2.6 so I made it to the finish line with .2 to spare.;)

So my goal for the next ten nights: Have fun, don't go hog wild and try to slam as much water and walk at POR at least four times during the trip. I would love it if two weeks from today I didn't show more than a 1 or 2 pound gain. Staying the same would be even better!

I will try to post some while I am gone, we are taking the computer so ds can do some of his missing assignments. And of course, Dan has to work a couple of hours at least every day, so one way or the other, I should be able to log in some.

Thanks for all the well wishes, I'll say hi to Mickey for all of you!

Tracy: I will have at least one cocktail for you. Its a sacrifice but I love ya so I am going to do it.:rotfl:

Lisa: Yeah, ds got the bad news last night that until these assigments are in, he is not getting together with friends. He would have around a 3.5 average if he would just turn that work in. He gets behind and then it just goes from there and I have been bad about keeping tabs on him. Silly me, I assume my highly intelligent, going on 16 year old can be self sufficient!:rolleyes1
