Amy's New Start : Comments Welcome!

Very exciting, Amy!!!! Your trip is sooooo close! :cool1:

We love Sci Fi! As a matter of fact, the girls were asking us last night when we were going to go back. Hmmmm....I may have to make some plans for December. ;)

How did the Nuggets do last night? Were they playing the Cavs? I haven't been following the Cavs as closely this year. I will once they make the playoffs though!

Have a great day!

CONGRATS on the loss! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2: You are doing GREAT, I know you can lose those lbs before you leave. :thumbsup2

I can honestly say I have never been to a sit-down restaurant at WDW OR DL! I figure we can eat food anywhere else in the world, but can't see those attractions anywhere. We usually just got counter service when we were famished and left it at that... :confused3

I think you will do great with food on your trip, I'm so glad you got the mess straightened out and upgraded your room. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the PM, Amy!!! I went ahead and gave the online ADR system a trial run and it seems like an easy process. I think I will try and get the Le Cellier reservation done first and then go back and get the rest of my ADRs after that. Do they e-mail your confirmation numbers to you?

I hope you are having a great weekend! Have a wonderful day today!

Thanks ladies, I didn't make it on here this weekend which lately seems to be my trend!

The good news is that Dan and I got so much done this weekend. We did a bunch of fix up, cleaning and organizing and we also got most of our packing done which feels very good. I am more organized for this trip than I can ever remember.

Food was so so this weekend. Friday was good until dinner when I ate a bunch of chips and queso. I did only have one piece of pizza which was at least something. Saturday was pretty much a food fest that cost me most of my flex points. Sunday was much better, I came in on points but didn't get a single veggie in. I am struggling with that lately and need to get a handle on it! Today was very good, I got to the gym and I am happy to say my leg was fine. It was still bothering me through yesterday and while I wanted to work out, I decided to let it rest. I think that paid off and was the right decision.

I am under points today so I may go down and have a very light snack right after I finish journals. I don't want to eat so late but I also am feeling very hungry all of the sudden so I probably better eat something before I go to bed.

I cannot believe my trip is so close! Poor Daisy is not happy about all of these suitcases in my bedroom, she is onto us I think!

Tracy: They will email you a confirmation for each ADR. I love the new online system, its so nice to be able to book things when I want, no holding and not hingent on Eastern Time Zone!

Lisa: I honestly don't think the QSDP is that great of a deal. If you eat at the more expensive places like Wolfgang Puck Express (which we plan to do since we are so close to DTD) and if you will use the credits up, its great. But for me,the convenience of prepaying for our meals and not having to worry with taking cash and balancing our check book for debits is so nice. And with a teenage boy, I know we'll use up the credits. For you, I am just not sure it would pay to use it.

Amy: I enjoy Disney full serve dining for the experience probably more than the food. And when you go during the peak seasons, its nice to have the guarantee you'll have a place to eat. But lately the waits to be seated, the price and the fact we have done most every place in WDW just makes me think its more trouble than its worth. I need a break and frankly its been nice not having to plan as much. We can go with the flow and eat what we are in the mood for!

It sounds like you and Dan got a lot done this weekend....Great job!:thumbsup2

Your trip is sooooo close!!!! I bet everyone is getting excited!:cool1:

Hope you have a great day!

Hi Amy. Glad your leg is better. Don't want to be limping at Disney!

Way to go on all the stuff you got done this weekend. We were the same way, got a lot done. Something in the air maybe?:confused3

Yes, I have decided against any dining plans for my solo trip. I would use all the credits, but I can eat so much cheaper by myself, especially when lot of the time I will order a childs meal. I like their sides better. :thumbsup2

so close, you are getting so close to leaving......:yay::yay::yay:

PS - Roo panics if she sees more than one suitcase out.

Thanks Lisa and Tracy.

Today was very good. I did perfect on food, I got all my veggies in which was something I was really wanting to improve upon. I made soft chicken tacos in my crockpot, they were so easy! And I had them ready when I got home from doing a bunch of errands which was good because I was starving.

I got 45 minutes of walking in followed by 60 minutes of aquasize. I am finding that these 90-120 minute workouts really take a chunk of my day, so I am getting to bed earlier so I can get up earlier.

Just so hoping to get that 15 pound star by the 26th, I almost hate to set a goal since my track record isn't too good. But I feel so good right now that even if I don't make it, I can't be anything but proud of how hard I have worked since January 6th when I started this all up.

My project for this week is to plan my days at WDW and literally plan out my meals right down to my snack. Then type up my daily menu and points and take that with me as sort of a gameplan/blue print for my 9 days. I want to have some splurges and dh has packed a couple of bottles of Malibu to go with our refill mugs, but I also want to get in my veggies and fruits and not eat a bunch of crap that could pack on half of my lost weight right back to where I don't want it!

Lisa: The thing that gets me about the QSDP is that you have the potential to eat four desserts a day. I NEVER order dessert at a cs place but of course if I have it on a plan, I probably will. I need to research and see what they will sub for those desserts.

Tracy: We are so excited. Dd has almost forgiven me for my fabulous upgrade. That kid LOVES Pop Century and even though she loves POR too, she had her heart set on Pop. I told her maybe she and I would go over there on day for some photo ops and some tye dye cheesecake!

::yes:: Yes, you most certainly can be proud of yourself. You have done fabulous!!!!!!!!

Ask for a bottle of water. I just tell them I can't have the sweets and may I have a bottle of water. If a cashier doesn't know they will either ask or you can ask for a manager. or maybe one of the kids sides of grapes, applesauce or carrots. They all come in packets that you can carry for later.

Your trip is almost here! I hope you have an incredible vacation

Great job on continual losses each week, you're doing fabulous - and now at over 10 pounds in 8 weeks!!! AWESOME

I totally relate to what you said about giving up too easily - me for WAY too long, so I was going through this very same thing with the Disney race I just did..it was more about sticking to something - I can tell you that the feeling of accomplishment for sticking with it was amazing...hope you "stick with it" for your goals too.

Amy - we did a lot of grab and go...we love Earl of Sandwich and Wolf Gang Puck Express at DTD - Flame Tree at AK, Columbia House at MK or Noodle Station, Seasons at Epcot...we're not picky eaters, and I love being able to grab and go. We did eat at 1900 Park Fare (buffet, with a group) this time, and while it was good - it was steep and I liked my sammie at Earls just as much.

Woohoo on the change to POR, excited for you. (i was just at CBR - mod. this trip) - think that Tracy is the same one on the podcast...could be wrong, but think it is.

HEY!!! I used to go to DWLZ too, eons ago...(ww pts) - small trivia, i actually have a small recipe in her FIRST cookbook, not sure how many they did after that

I did counter serve/dining with my DS15 in November - worked out GREAT, and I'd just pass him my dessert so I wouldn't eat it too, LOL - i LOVED not having to think about cash/for food, etc...pre-paying was great for me too - i'd absolutely do that with him again...DH and I this time - knew we'd want to pick and choose both types of places, some on and some off site

Great job getting those veggies in! Sounds like you are still doing really good. :thumbsup2 And that chunk of time used up by working out is worth every minute! :goodvibes

Buckley always knows when we are getting ready to leave. I swear, I think he gets depressed when the kids are gone!

I love your plan for eating at WDW. I know you can stick to it, as long as you give yourself the OCCASIONAL treat! ;)

Thanks gals, Deb its good to have you back!

Today was an off day for me. I was sort of tired and depressed all day. I didn't work out which was stupid because then to add to my depression I felt guilty and stupid since we all know working out helps with the blues! Oh well, I did well with food.

We went to Texas Roadhouse with stepdad and his lady friend. I got a chicken caeser salad with the dressing on the side and brought half of it home for lunch tomorrow. I only had 1/4th a roll with NO butter thank you very much. But I did eat too many peanuts. But I ate so light all day I had the points. And I love me some peanuts.;)

I think I got off kilter today because I was up 1.5 on the scale. This is the drawback to daily weigh ins. When I am up it makes me nervous and upset. Its probably because my soft tacos that I made yesterday, while low in fat were high in sodium. Its basically a jar of salsa poured over four, frozen chicken breasts in a crockpot for five hours. Then you fork shred it. I put mine on corn tortillas but salsa is very high in salt. And I ate late. Oh yeah, I had microwave popcorn for a snack. So hopefully the salt flushed itself out today.

Tomorrow will be better. I definitely learned my lesson about skipping the gym. It made me feel lousy and by the time I realized that, I was out of time to go. Dumb!

Amy: Benjamin would always freak out when he saw the suitcases, Daisy is better but she was nervous all day on Sunday. But now that they've been sitting in there so long, I think she assumes its all fine and in fact we aren't going anywhere. Boy is she in for a shock come next Friday!

Deb: So good to see you! I just wanted quick meals, last trip all we did was eat and trudge from ADR to ADR. Between that and being there with dh's family who could not do the parks for very long, we missed about 80% of what we normally do. Two week trip and we never did ride Expedition Everest which is just crazy. But those extra snacks and desserts have me worried but then again, why should they? I have two teenagers who can eat them or I can just not have them at all!

Lisa: I will ask for water bottles and I like the grape ideas. Last time, the first place I asked (Pecos Bills) would not do it so I said "oh forget it, I'll just eat the cake" and never asked again. I should have said "um, I need a manager". And I bet I would have gotten my grapes!

Sending a  your way, Amy. I'm sorry yesterday was a tough day for you, my friend. The good thing is that today is a new day and you are one day closer to Disney!!!! You can get back on track today, Amy! I know you CAN do it!!!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful day, my friend!

Amy, I hope yesterday was better for you than Wednesday. I didn't realize that salsa was so high in salt. :sad2: I always thought it was the chips. Learn something new every day. :thumbsup2

I'll bet you are back down today though. :goodvibes One more week! I'm so excited for you. I just love knowing when someone is going to Disney. :goodvibes

Great eating at Texas Roadhouse. Aren't peanuts good for you in some way? ;)

Thanks Lisa and Tracy.

Yesterday was so much better! I took advantage of the nice weather and cleaned out my garage (this after doing 90 minutes of exercise at the gym) and had ds (he got out early due to CSAP's) help me load a huge load of stuff for Good Will. It felt so good to get that done. I think what made me sort of depressed on Wednesday was getting things settled, reservations made etc., for our trip to Dallas. Even though my mom's been gone for over two years, having this final thing to do (inter her ashes next to my dad at the cemetary out there) is still emotional. As luck would have it, we are doing that on July 3rd, which would have been there 56th anniversary. In a different world, we would be having a party that day, not a internment service. I'll be glad when this final detail/closure is done and behind me.

So I went to WW and was down exactly one pound. I got my 5% sticker and hopefully next week I can lose the 2.4 to get my 15 pound star. If not, I'll get it when I get home.

Today is snowing and cold and dreary but who cares, I'm going to WDW in 7 days!:cool1:

We have dinner out tonight with friends and that's basically it for this weekend other than church. I NEED to work out tomorrow so that I get in my five times before weigh in. I only got in 3x this week and that's probably why the scale showed a smaller loss than the last few weeks when I have been getting between 4-6 workouts.

 going to Disney!

Great job on getting the garage cleaned out. That is always such a chore.

Way to go on weigh-in, Amy!!!!:cheer2:

Disney in 7 days!!!!!! How exciting!!!:banana::cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3: :cheer2:

Hope you have a great weekend!

Only seven days to go (six now)...woo hoo, I'm excited for you!

Congrats on the weigh-in too. :thumbsup2

Way to go at WW...

here's how i used my snack credits...i'd go to a grab/go market and get either cereal and yogurt for breakfast the next day -- or fruit and cereal...voila, 2 credits used - and it covered breakfast

....or i'd use them for water/diet coke...i know people think "money/value" buy something that costs more....but that's not me. I go, use it on something i can actually appreciate/use....i always have crystal light packs in my purse, so the water is perfect for that too...

if we had extras - my son would use them for extra stuff...mostly i used it for breakfast stuff, because every meal came with dessert, so he ended up with mine each meal as well as his.

CONGRATS for getting that 5% sticker!!!:cheer2::cool1: And I know that 15lb pin is in your near future too. :goodvibes

I like your idea about asking for a manager if the server won't give you what you ask for. Especially for something like fruit instead of dessert, come on! The restaurant comes out on top with that substitution! :confused3

I can't believe it was snowing for you, it's been in the 80's here most of the week!

6 days to go, I'm excited for you guys!
