Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Thanks for keeping me up on page one Tracey, Tracy and Anna.

We had a wonderful trip although ds was sick for a lot of it. Ten days at Disnyeland (some of those were at the beach however) and we didn't get on Nemo. The lines were never less than two hours and we just couldn't seem to get up the energy. We are hoping to go back in January for a long weekend so hopefully the novelty will have worn off. We spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool at the Disneyland Hotel. We rode everything else, saw the parades and enjoyed our family time. But with Matthew just still not completely over his viral thing (he got this shortly before we left home from his sister who bounced right back) no way were we waiting in that line. And it was hot much of the time. So I am the only person who spent 11 nights at Disneyland and didn't ride Nemo. That must put me in some sort of record book! Frankly, I enjoyed looking for Nemo at the beaches in San Diego and L.A, and was content to let somebody else find him at Disneyland!

Anna, we had a great Father's Day at Moonlight Beach, thanks so much for the recommendation. You are so lucky to live there! We also enjoyed Sea World and of course Disneyland.

I did HORRIBLE on food. For sixteen solid days I ate way too much. The only thing good was I drank a ton of ice tea and water. I only had a total of six cocktails. But the food was pretty much a disaster. I will weigh later in the week and see the verdict.

I need to get caught up with you all, but I am so dog tired I think I'll wait til tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know I made it home. Missed you gals! And I am so mad at myself for pigging out like that. Dh said I didn't do bad but I felt like I did. The scale will tell me all I need to know!

Welcome Back, Amy!:cool1:  :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: We missed you WISH sis!

Vacation is a time to relax and enjoy. Now that you are back home and getting back into a routine, I bet you'll get right back on track.:thumbsup2

Have a safe and Happy 4th!

Yay Amy your back :cool1:
Glad you had a great trip :)
Only 6 cocktails??? Whats happened to my drinking partner??? ;)
Hope DS has made a full recovery.
I'm sure any gain will come off as soon as your back into your routine :goodvibes
Have a great 4th of July!

Sorry I was MIA...glad to here you had a good trip...sorry to hear your ds was sick though! I'm sure you never did as bad with the food as you think plus I bet you did a lot of walking...You've done so well with your weight!

Thanks for all your support...it really helps! Happy 4th of July!

Thanks everybody. I have not been doing good with food. And the scale showed that. Up 10 pounds and of course TOM is here so that doesn't help. Talk about a slap in the face and just what I needed to get me back to planet Earth. Today was my usual WW day but since its a holiday I didn't weigh there but rather at home. I need to go to the store tomorrow, I still haven't been for anything other than milk. I spent the day watching Law and Order episodes, I'll swear dh and I are like zombies. That was a long trip. Matthew at long last seems to be well. Saw my parents last night, had too much Italian food and then spent today eating more bad choices. Time to get my act together! I have until October 25 before I leave for WDW, I would really like to be at 40 pounds by then. We shall see. We are also going to visit family in the DC area in August so that will likely throw my plans off course. Feeling discouraged but also motivated.

Tracey: Six drinks because I ate so much I couldn't get a buzz! Also, I was taking decongestants for my cold and dh's family doens't drink so I behaved. Don't worry, I am sure when we are on our own in WDW, I'll be at the pool bar in my usual fashion!

Hi,

Glad to hear Matthew is better.

I am sure once TOM goes away you'll loose some fluid. I always gain 5 pounds when TOM is here...I don't even weigh anymore. It won't take you long to loose that 10 pounds...vacation weight never takes too long to loose. I gained 13 pounds in Christmas:eek: but had it off in 3 weeks.

I know you can have your 40 pounds gone by time you go to WDW. When I visit family I find it easiest to avoid the small things like butter...mayo etc...and I drink plenty of water...that way you are still eating the same as everyone else just without the extra fat. You'll be fine!

Have a great week!

 Amy,

Why don't you take the rest of the week off to relax and get back into your routine? Then on Monday, you can get back on program by planning out your meals and getting some exercise in. I know it can be challenging, but you CAN do it, Amy! :cheer2:

I'm glad to hear that Matthew is feeling better.:goodvibes Sending more get well :wizard: for him.

Have a wonderful day today! I'm glad you're back!

Don't worry too much about the weight gain, Amy! I'm right there with you & I've been home almost a MONTH!! YIKES!!!

Hope you have a good weekend!

Welcome back!! Sorry DS was sick, but glad he is feeling better now. We live here and I still haven't done the Nemo ride. Don't feel bad. Glad the rest of your trip went well and Moonlight was fun. It is a great beach.

Take Tracy's advice and start fresh on Monday. It is so hard to get back on track after vacation. I'm still struggling.

Jaime's advice is great too - skip the butter, mayo, etc. That is actually what I do at home. Then it is such a big splurge to have a buttered roll:rotfl2: .

Glad you are back! You can do the 40 too. I'm still working on my 43 for 43. You can do 40!

Ahhh that sounds better - i was worried there for a while ;)
Sorry to here about the gain - i hope you enjoyed the food though!!
Isnt it frightening how easy 10lb's will go on, & then how hard it is to
take off :confused3 Why cant it be the other way round???

Look on the bright side Amy, once TOM is gone & your back to your 'normal' eating habits i bet at least half of that 10lb will dissapear quickly

Well TOM is gone but the 10 pounds isn't! I have been doing so poorly with food. Just making awful choices, stress eating I think. My mom has been giving me fits. I really feel like I have this extra kid and its not pleasant when she is like this. I made brunch today for her and a friend of hers who was in town. She loves this lady, they have been friends for sixty years. She pitched a fit yesterday about not wanting to come like a little kid not wanting to get a shot at the doctor. I ate way too much at my brunch (but mom got into the swing of things after an very awkward start so that was good), didn't drink my water again and just basically feel awful.

Weighing in tomorrow at Weight Watchers, not easy or fun since I don't like seeing such a huge gain in just four weeks. But I am going, if I don't I might not climb back on the old wagon.

Does anybody else get just so sick of worrying about this all the time? Probably my last thought on my deathbed will be worrying about how fat I'll look in the casket!:sad2:

Thanks for all the support guys, its only from you I am getting it (and dh God bless him who is stressed with his demons i.e. work).

Hey tomorrow is my 15th anniversary and I get a new toilet and a 10 pound gain at Weight Watchers!:woohoo: Who says my life isn't just peachy?

Tracey: Fear not, I climbed back on the party circuit this last weekend with a few too many beers! I'll never leave you!

Anna: I just refuse to stand in line for Nemo for two hours when Splash, BTMR and most of Fantasyland is less than a five minute wait!

Julie: I need to get caught up with you, hope the cruise was fun, I thought about you!

Tracy: I missed the boat for Monday but am hoping to make that fresh start for tomorrow. Thanks for always being there!

Jaime: Well I feel better knowing I am not the only one who can gain that much weight that quickly. I have been avoiding butter and bread for a year and half, then today I had two huge croissants slathered with butter. What gives? I guess it was either that or slap my mom silly. I threw the butter out since obviously I am getting a problem with that again.

Hey tomorrow is my 15th anniversary and I get a new toilet and a 10 pound gain at Weight Watchers!:woohoo: Who says my life isn't just peachy?

Happy Anniversary! I hope your week goes a little better! Sounds like you need :grouphug: and some magic!:wizard:

Happy Anniversary Amy & Dan :bride::groom: I understand your gift - DH and I got 2 toilets for christmas one year:rotfl2: . What happened to the red roses and candlelit evenings? :confused3

You are a really good daughter. Remember that when your mom is being difficult. :grouphug: for the stress eating. That one is uncontrollable for me and it just stinks because your not even enjoying the calories :sad2: . Good for you throwing out the butter though.

Sorry about the gain, but we will be here for you after WW WI. You've lost the weight before and you will do it again. Drink that water and go out for a walk while the weather is nice. That will help your mood too. :grouphug:

Thank you Anna and Jaime. I went to Weight Watchers and was actually pretty proud of myself for going. I was up 8.5 pounds total. I can live with that. Actually WW had it down as a 6.5 but since I had weighed at Walgreens the week I left (didn't go to WW that week) I know to add the other two pounds. I should take the 30 pound clippie off my sig but think since I am only a few pounds shy of that I'll keep it for a couple of weeks and think positive!

I have done very well with food today, had a Atkins shake for breakfast, Subway for lunch and plenty of water. Matthew is cooking our dinner tonight and he's making me lowfat bbq chicken pizza, grilled asparagus and grilled pineapple (this kid loves Food Network, can you tell?). And we are having friends over Friday night and I bought healthy stuff and told her no on the offer to bring dessert (bought ff sorbet instead). Its time to haul out the big guns and get back to doing what I know! I am amazed at how much better I feel now that I went in and weighed and got that behind me.

Jaime: Thanks for the hug, I sure did need that! Some weeks are just harder than others. But then it gets better thank goodness!

Anna: I think I lost roses and candlelight somewhere between diapers and retainers! And the toilet is fixed, dh got it fixed last night. So we are buying some mulch and bushes for the yard instead, a little better than a toilet!

Happy Anniversary Amy and Dan! :flower3:

Amy, I am so proud of you for going to WW today! I know that it wasn't easy, but you did it! And you know what? That weight will be gone in no time at all. Be sure and start the day with a healthy breakfast, add a little movement, and drink lots of water and you'll be set to go.:thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear about the stuff with mom. Sending prayers your way.....

Have a great day tomorrow!

Thank you Tracy, you are right it wasn't easy to go. I have no idea why, they are always so nice and never say a word when you gain but for some reason I feel like I am going to the Principal's office when I have to weigh in and I know I am up!

Food today was not great. I came in fine on points but had chips for dinner. Probably stressed and tired, went over and spent the day cleaning my mom's condo and she was in a mood. It was very tempting to bring step dad home with me, I'll swear I don't know how he does it. And she was so mean to my kids, who worked like troopers. Matthew did all the vacuming and cleaned all her mirrored closet doors, windows and sliding doors. I just hope they remember the good times before she got this way. I may have to start limiting how much they can be around her. But stepdad loves it so much when they come over.

My anniversary turned out to be a nice one. Matthew cooked us a great dinner, he grilled asparagus and mushrooms on the grill, made a salad and made us lowfat pizza. He also made me a lowfat mango smoothie for dessert. His clean up skills need some work, I had quite a sticky kitchen today, the whole thing smelled like mango! Maria gave me and Dan foot rubs, cleared the dishes and made us a beautiful card. And Dan brought me some nice flowers. So it was in all a memorable day and a keeper on the anniversary scale!

I have a lot of special occasions coming up. Tomorrow night friends coming over. But I am making a lowfat meal and hope to stay away from too many cocktails. Sat. night a bbq and Sunday we are going to see Harry Potter (popcorn alert). I am pushing the water and planning on getting back into the swing of walking. I feel more in control but am not there since I opted to eat 14 points worth of chips tonight after not eating enough during the day. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

 Amy,

I'm sorry about the situation with your mom. I know how hard it can be to have to limit time with grandma when it comes to your kids.

I'm glad to hear that your anniversary went well! :goodvibes

Hope you enjoy all of the special occasions that you have going on this weekend.:goodvibes

I think I lost roses and candlelight somewhere between diapers and retainers!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: So that's where it went! I knew we'd lost it some place, but couldn't figure out where!:rotfl2:

Your anniversary sounds like it turned out really nicely.

Sorry about your mom and the kids. Do talk to the kids about Gma is not herself and talk about what it was like before.

You are getting back on track. You have a plan for your social events. Stay strong and have a great weekend!

Glad you're getting back on track...it's SO HARD!!!!

Belated Happy Anniversary - glad it went well!

Have a GREAT weekend & hopefully WI will go better for both of us next week!
