Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Thanks so much Jamie, Tracey, Tracy and Jennifer.

I am sorry I have been MIA AGAIN! Out of town company, getting ready for vacation and dd being home sick two days in a row has not done my journaling any good. But I have been doing pretty well with food. I made my all time favorite, zillion calorie strawberry cake and had one piece (saved up some points for it) then made dh anda the kids finish it off. I have gotten in three walks this week, not as much as I hoped but better than nothing. I weigh in tomorrow and then am taking my mom and her friend who is here from TX to lunch. I told them I had to do it tomorrow so I can weigh in then go out to eat. Pre planning is the key is what I keep telling myself. Then everybody will be here for dinner before the friends go back to TX. So one last company meal to survive but since I am doing the cooking that should help. Not sure what weigh in will bring, I wanted my 35 lb star, we'll see. If not this week, next for sure as long as TOM doens't make another surprise appearance. I won't get to 40 before vacation but I am okay with that. It was nice to have our friends, who haven't seen me in two years, really notice the difference this loss has made. Counting what I did before I joined WW, it actually is 40 pounds but I keep my clippie at just the WW loss. Getting those compliments the other night made it easier to pass up the snacks and second piece of cake I wanted to eat. Sad and shallow but true!

I need to catch up with you guys, thanks for sticking with me when I am off the radar:rolleyes: !

Sorry to hear about your sister. But you have the right attitude about it, so don't let it get you down!

I bet you are so excited for your upcoming trip!

I absolutely HATED the ending of Pirates, I was actually mad when I left the theater!

I'm glad all your family has noticed your weightloss, they are the only ones who count anyway! You have done such a great job, I know you'll get that 35lb star soon!! :wizard:

How is Daisy doing? Buckley was so mellow after we got back from Germany (he was at the kennel), it was quite nice! But I've noticed he is starting to get a little more spunky so I'm sure the peace and quiet will be short-lived... :confused3

 Amy,

Sounds like you did a good job over the weekend! Congratulations on the compliments!:goodvibes

How many more days till your trip to DL? I bet everyone is getting so excited!:yay:

Hope you have a great Thursday!:goodvibes

Well sorry I have been away again! Having the company and dd being sick at the same time made for a hectic week. I did not get my 35 pound star, 1 pound away still! I am okay with that, maybe this week. Although my food has not been good this past few days. Time to get back on track. We leave next Friday, I have so much to do. But I am really excited and ready for a break. Dh and I have walked a few times this week but again, not like we had been. We had a stupid cold front that moved in the other night, 45 degrees that day/evening. No way was I walking in that. I should have treadmilled, but went out for dinner and drinks instead. Oh well. My husbands aunt and cousin sent him 4 bags of Moose Munch from Harry and David. So sweet but he and I just so do not need that stuff lying around. So far we have not opened it at all, I mean when I look at that lable and how much fat and calories are in that stuff it just blows me away. It is so sweet but they send this type of stuff about four times a year and we are both trying so hard to be healthy and good that every time I see it on the porch I want to cry because I know I have to either resist or give in. Neither of which is very fun. Dh says he will take it on the trip, we'll see if I can stay out of it through a 1000 mile car trip.

Amy: Did you stay for the final scene after the credits in POTC III? That one made me feel better about the ending before the final ending. My dogs are always mellow when they come home from the kennel and then watch out! Daisy is very sweet, so much better behaved than Ben was but man she has her moments!

Tracy: Thannks for stopping by as usual, I have been a bad Wish Friend lately! Gotta go catch up with you!

WHAT?? I missed a scene at the end of POTC 3??!!! What happened?
Hope DD is feeling better.
How did WI go?
Sounds like you had a nice time with your friends & thats fantastic they noticed how great your looking :)

That 35 pound star is yours this week, Amy!:thumbsup2 I know you CAN do it!:cheer2:

Did you say that you leave for Disneyland this Friday? Wow! I bet everyone is so excited!:yay: How long will you be on vacation?

Hope you had a great weekend! Have a wonderful week ahead!

Well I ate some of the Moose Munch! I was so mad at myself I could have spit. Dh and the kids opened it while we watched a movie so of course I had to have some, then some more. I really hate that stuff. Dh had an upset stomach, he loves it but it doesn't always agree with him. We are taking it to California (the remaining two bags) and will share it with his family so they can have some of it and also to spread the wealth of fat grams! That was on Saturday. Sensible day until I had Moose Munch for dinner. Fast forward to Sunday. Another sensible day. I resisted popcorn at the movie (saw POTCH III again) then ran the last of our errands and waited too long for dinner. We ended up eating out and I didn't do as well as I could have. Resisted bread and butter, had a chicken kabob but then split a sundae four ways which even with that amount was too much. And I had two Coors Lights. Oh well, today has been good.

Tracy, I leave for DL on Friday. I have so much to do, no idea why I am on the disboards when I need to do other things! I have no hope of getting my 35 pound star but thats okay. I did take measurements and have only lost 4 pounds in two months but have taken off a total of 7 inches. So that was good. I wondered, all my clothes fit looser and people are really starting to notice (at long last). So I remembered I had taken my measurements the day I got my 30 pound star which was two months ago. The inches count for something right?

I printed out points values for several restaurants I know we will go to in California (In N Out Burger, Jack in the Box, Rubios, and El Torito). We always have to have Jack in the Box once, they don't have them here anymore and dh and I love their tacos. Which only have 3.5 points so thats not as greasy as I thought. No idea why we both love them so much, they are really sort of gross!

I am also taking along a bunch of water, healthy snacks and bottles of crystal light. I figure with the walking I should be okay. If I can come back still over 30 with my loss I will be thrilled. And I am taking my scale. I am gone for two weeks and want to keep an eye on my number!

OMG TOM is here again! How can this be? My last one started on 5/30, thats only two weeks ago. This explains why my rings were so tight yesterday and also why I am craving salt and chocolate. This is crazy. I need to find a doctor, my old one no longer takes my insurance. I obviously won't have time to deal with this before my trip. And now I am wondering if I will have another one while I am in CA. What a nightmare. This came on last night and I pretty much felt like crap all night and day. No energy. Can I just say that I hate being 42 years old with a body that cannot decide if it wants to be an old lady or a not so old one?

I am not weighing in tomorrow. Of course I will be up due to this latest ovary occurance. So I think I will weigh in Friday morning. Maybe my body will flush itself out by then. This is just very discouraging. This is the third one I have had in something like six weeks.

Food was good today until I decided that some cheetos and cookies (bought for housesitter today when I felt like I had willpower, what a joke) would make a good dinner. Just what I needed.

I am going to bed where I hope I can sleep, last night I slept very little. Did I mention I am discouraged and hate my hormones?

 Amy,

I'm sorry that you're going through this WISH sis. Once a month is tough, but every couple of weeks is so much more difficult. :( Take some time for some rest and relaxation today. Hopefully, TOM will go away for your trip to California.:goodvibes

Have a good Wednesday!

Hi Amy,

That is great news on your compliments. That is great!!! All your hard work is paying off.

I am so jealous that you are going to DL this week.....my inlaws are in CA this week. I believe they are going to DL next week. They are visting family in Sacramento and then they are heading to DL for 5 days. I hope you have a wonderful trip!! You will do good with your food, and with all the walking you will be doing, it's okay to splurge a few times!!!

Keep up the good work!!!

Have a great day :)

 Amy so sorry TOM has arrived again!
I had similiar problems until i went back on the birth control pill now everything is almost normal.
Hopefully it will be out the way before your trip.
Thats great that you have lost 7 inches & is a much better indication than the scales! I wish i had taken measurements before i started going to the gym as the scale doesnt budge!!

Thanks for the pm about POTC 3 :)

Wishing you Bon voyage, just in case i dont make it back before Friday :)
How long are you going for?

Thank you Tracey, Jamie and Tracy.

I am getting ready today for my trip. Packing and cleaning. I feel sort of sick at my stomach, too much Advil for my female troubles and just pre trip jitters. I spent yesterday over at my mom's getting her ready for her trip to be with my brother while I am gone. I really feel for my brother and sil. Sil is out of town with her mom who was just diagnosed with kidney cancer and had surgery on Tuesday. Brother was there then came back home yesterday, to get ready for our mom and stepdad to come. Sil gets home on Saturday from caring for her mom for 12 days only to have my mom to deal with for a week. Bless their hearts for taking care of things while I am gone. Not one word of complaint, they just keep saying it will all be fine.

On the other side of my sibling spectrum, my sister is off work for at least this week due to an MS flair up. Got in a car accident and totaled her car and I am sure is at wits end worrying about money. She is in sales, no working, no commissions, no money. I am still aggravated with her yet feel so sorry for her right now. Family! Hopefully she will recover quickly and be able to get a new car soon.

I am hoping to weigh in tomrorrow before I take my parents to the airport. But then again, given all I still have to do and the fact Dh wants to leave the minute I get home from the airport, that may not happen! In any case, according to my scale I am at 37 pounds. I also weighed at my mom's and the scale at Walgreens yesterday, making darn sure nobody was nearby to see that unGodly number! All say basically the same thing. So even if I don't officially get the star from Weight Watchers, I feel like I made my goal. I will not change my Wish siggie until I get the offical word from WW however! So that may not happen until I get back. This really makes me want to stay on track for vacation. Hope I can!

Really excited for the trip and the opportunity to see Dan's aunt and cousin as well as his dad. I am envisioning Disneyland being an absolute zoo due to the Finding Nemo sub ride opening. Six hour lines according to some accounts, :scared1: . We'll have to see about that one, with no fastpass its wait or not ride I guess! And Anna gave me some great beach recommendations in San Diego so on Sunday we will enjoy Father's Day on the beach. Dan won't know what to do on his day if he's not bbqing for the whole family! And listening to my sister go off on one of her weird things  .

Thanks so much for all the support. I am actually ready to come back and get the next 37 off! Sort of a bummer its taken me 12 months to lose 12 pounds (I was at 25 last June for our trip to DL) but then again, given the up and downs of my hormones I am taking that 12 pounds. I could have gained 50 no problem, but man losing 12 has been a challenge!

I'll try to journal from California!:woohoo:

Amy have a great trip!!! Don't stress about your mom or the rest of the family. You take care of your mom +90% of the time. Dbro can handle it while your gone.

The beach should be awesome on Sunday. June Gloom has been pretty light so far this year. Some days it is all burned off by 8am and on most days it is all gone before noon. (June Gloom: desert gets hot, pulls clouds/fog/marine layer from the ocean inland so it is overcast-y)

We are planning to head to DL the last week of June for a day before our passes blackout for the summer. I want to ride the Nemo ride, but not willing to wait that long in line. My guess at the best bet if you want to ride: Get to the gate at least 45 minutes before opening so you are toward the front of the line to get in and "fast walk" straight to the Nemo ride. Hopefully the wait won't be too bad then. There will be long lines everywhere, but it should still be a fun time. Enjoy and make sure to have a Dole whip! :thumbsup2

You will do fine on your trip (except maybe for that moose munch:love: ). It is great your down 37 and 12 for the year! Like you said, it could easily have been a gain. You are headed in the right direction. Congrats:banana:

 Amy,

Congratulations on losing 37 pounds!!!! I knew you could do it!:cheer2:

I hope you and your family have a wonderful time in California. :grouphug: Please try not to worry too much about your mom. You take care of her most of the time. Your brother and SIL will be just fine taking care of her for a few days. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear about your sister's accident. We will keep her, your SIL, and your SIL's mother in our thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

Have a wonderful, relaxing time in California!:cloud9:
