AmyM's Quest for a Better Bikini Body!

Don't worry about gaining on your trip. That's what vacations are for...indulge a little! As for the 3lbs....they will be gone before you know it. You are one of the hardest working WISHers I know!!!
Don't get upset about it. (And next time tell the BIMBO at the theater that she should have informed you of that "rule" to begin with!!)

have a great evening!!
marie

Hi Amy,
Your weekend didn't sound that bad. I hate it when I do that, have a loss and then for some reason eat something I shouldn't and feel like I just undid the good! But you haven't! That 136 reading is a good solid loss, cannot be undone with one movie binge! It will come off but you may have to wait until TOM is over if that is looming. Sounds like you have a lot of flight miles ahead, think of all the travelling you can do for fun! Hope this week is a good one for all of us needing that fresh start. When do you leave on your trip? Hang in there, you are still doing really, really well.

I got my food back in check yesterday, which was good. I did have a little unneeded snack at 9pm, but it wasn't too traumatic. I actually got dinner ready by 6:15pm, which really helps! I am getting excited for my trip. I need to go shopping this weekend to get some things. I'd like to get another pair of black dress pants. They will most likely be Size 8, but it's not the end of the world. I think my Size 6 days are over and I'm finally OK with it. I'll just keep trying my best and hopefully the weight will eventually come off. Today I have to go down to Marana (in southern AZ) for work. We will be eating out for lunch and I'm sure my water will be less than stellar. I am thinking of it as a dry run for my UK trip, so hopefully I will make some good choices! Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 16oz Green Tea, 10oz Crystal Light:

6:15am: Egg Beaters (1/2c); Red Peppers; Morningstar Veggie Sausage Links (2); Fiber Cake
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); SF Peach/Mango Applesauce
11:30am: Leftover EFL Turkey Bacon Quiche (I also had some cucumber but when I opened the container it was moldy! :scared: )
2:30pm: 3 Egg Whites; Pear
6:15pm: Shake-n-Bake Pork Chop (3oz); Green Beans; 2 bites Mashed Potatoes; SF Jello
8:45pm: SF Dark Chocolate (1/2 serving = 55cal); Yogurt Raisin Mix (1tbsp); 10 Macadamia Nut Halves
WORKOUT: Weights (30min); Treadmill (35min)
RESISTED: Yogurt Pretzels; More Yogurt Raisin Mix, More Macadamia Nuts; More Chocolate :cheer2:

Jane, it all evens out, doesn't it? I do good on Sat so I can blow it on Sun. Will I ever get it right? I think I am doing WAY better than I was last year, so at least I am making SOME progress! :teeth:

Tracey, if we could figure out why we self destruct and market a cure, we'd be rich! :goodvibes

Marie, normally I'd agree with you 100%, but this trip is the week before I am going to Mexico (and living in a swimsuit for 4 days)! I should have told the little bimbo to just give me the small Icee and charge me the regular price. Gotta love that 20/20 hindsight... :rolleyes1

Amy, the weekend was bad because I was always eating. I probably ate more than 3/4c of trail mix and yogurt pretzel mix. It was a little handful here, little handful there, ALL DAY LONG. That is why I was so mad at myself, there was just no control. But I felt like crap yesterday and I don't think I'll be doing that again for a while! I leave Sunday on the red-eye. It'll be a blast! I've already got my plan in place for London (depending on what time we get there on Thursday after our meetings). Hopefully my boss is with me, I really don't want to go sight-seeing by myself!

Yesterday could have been better... :rolleyes1 Today's plan is to GET A GRIP! ;) No unplanned snacking is allowed. I am hoping this UK trip will reset my brain. I will be eating 3x a day, no snacking. I'm pretty sure I'll live to tell about it. Hopefully 6 days of that will help me realize I do not have to eat ANYTHING before or after dinner... I actually got all my water in, which was the only bright spot in my day... I drank 100oz water, 32oz iced tea:

6:30am: Egg Beaters w/Red Pepper; Fiber Cake
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese; Low Carb Yogurt; Colby Jack Cheese (3/4oz)
2:45pm (@Cracker Barrel): Veggie Soup (cup); Grilled Chicken Tenderloin on Wheat w/Tomato, Lettuce, Pickles, Colby Cheese, Mayo (which I would have ordered without if I knew mayo came on it!); Coleslaw (1/4c); Corn Bread Muffin
5:45pm: Almonds (1.2oz)
6:45pm: 1c Chicken Las Vegas (crockpot - chicken, cream of chicken, LF sour cream, chipped beef); 10 Macadamia Nut Halves; SF Jello; SF Applesauce w/Stevia & Cinnamon (1/2c); SF Chocolate (1/2 serving); Boo Berry cereal (1/4c) :confused3 :guilty: :confused3 :guilty:
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Carrot Cake @ Cracker Barrel; Yogurt Pretzels, Yogurt Raisin Mix :cheer2:

I just saw Carnie Wilson and Tina Yothers from Celebrity Fit Club on The View. They both stressed that if they eat right and workout during the week during maintenance that they can have the weekend "off" and still stay on program. I think if I could concentrate on staying on program during the week, I'd be a lot better off.

Have a great time in the UK. :tinker: . Will you have any time off to play the tourist? Stay away from those sausage dishes that the English love so much. Instead, I hope you'll be able to find a place that serves tea. Thats my kind of food. We have a place here that serves tea - its very simple but very good.

Amy I need a grip too! Actually you survived Cracker Barrel so I am pretty impressed. Last time I ate there I got dumplings and biscuits! Your UK trip will be great, sometimes the structure of being on business and with someone else can be a very good thing. Is this your first time there? And then its off to Mexico! Hang in there, your size 8 pants are really something for you to be proud of (and me to be jealous of you skinny broad)! Seriously though, I know in the end it is how we think of ourselves. A size 6 would be nice but its good you are thinking of that in terms of nice but not necessary to be fit and feel good about yourself. You have shaped up your body and your outlook so be proud of you!

I was starting to talk myself out of going to the gym, but I went! :cheer2: I could only do cardio since I had to take DD to soccer practice (DH had to take DS to golf lessons) but at least I went! I plan on going again today since I usually never go on the Friday's my ex picks up the kids. I told DH he is taking me out for dinner tomorrow. :lovestruc I did really good with eating, mostly because I wasn't at the house... :rolleyes1 I drank 100oz of water, 16.9oz Diet Green Tea, 16oz Green Tea:

6:15am: Egg Beaters, Red Pepper, Fiber Cake
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese; SF Blueberry Applesauce
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, cheese, red pepper, dressing); Low Carb Yogurt
2:30pm: Colby Jack Cheese (1.5oz); Pear; 20 Peanuts
5:30pm: 20 Macadamia Halves
7:30pm: EFL Tuna Casserole; SF Jello; SF Dark Chocolate (1/2 serving)
WORKOUT: Elliptical (45min)
RESISTED: Macaroons, More Chocolate

Jane, I am fine during the week and misbehave on the weekend and it ruins everything I've accomplished during the week. Maybe once I'm in maintenance mode I can do that... I am hoping to be able to see a little bit of London while I'm there.

Amy, thanks for the pep talk! It made me want to go to the gym. Yes, it will be my first time. I just got awesome news - I got upgraded to first class! :cheer2: That is SO COOL!!!! :cool1: :yay: :thumbsup2

Hi Amy
Well done on getting to the gym & eating so healthy :)
I too misbehave at the weekends :) (food wise i mean :))
Have a nice dinner with DH tomorrow
Tracey

I'm so excited for your upcoming trip. :Pinkbounc Have a great time. I hope you get to spend some seeing the sites in London. There's so much to see and do there.

Great job on getting in your cardio at the gym!

Wow great news on the first class upgrade! That will really be a good thing on that long flight. Coach will never be the same! And thank you right back for your pep talk to me. Thats what WISH is all about right? If I miss you before your trip have fun! And don't worry about staying on program. You have amazing discipline and you will do great!

Weigh in this morning was 138. It was at 137 then switched to 138 right at the end, so I must be 137.5... I did not make it to the gym yesterday. Thursday is usually my day off of working out, so mentally I just couldn't get there. So I went home and made brownies instead! :guilty: I found a box of No Pudge mix in the pantry and decided to make them. They are pretty good for being fat free! The box had 12 servings and I cut it into 16 small pieces. And I ate 2 of them... But I figured that was 180 cal, so not TOO much damage done. I've done way more calories in one sitting with PB (but of course those are healthier calories :rolleyes1 ). I won't be going to the gym today, but I am going to go tomorrow and Sunday. Then I will be skipping Mon-Wed and hope to work out at the hotel on Thu and Fri (I will try to work out more, but I don't know if the Mon-Wed hotel has a workout facility). Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 16oz green tea:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese; SF Blueberry Applesauce
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, cheese, yellow pepper, LF dressing); Cucumber; Fiber Cake
2:30pm: 3 Egg Whites; Pear; 20 Peanuts
5:00pm: Brownie
6:15pm: Taco Salad (w/romaine, ground turkey, cheese, yellow pepper, LF sour cream); SF Chocolate (1/2 serving, it's finally gone!); SF Jello; Brownie
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Macaroons, More Brownies, PB

Tracey, weekends are the worst for me! I am getting a lot better, but there is still room for improvement.

Jane, I am excited too! Apparently we drive past Stonehenge so I am going to ask the driver to stop so I can take some pix. And hopefully we will get into London early enough on Thursday that we can take the tube and do a little exploring.

Amy, our company sends us biz class for international trips, and British Airways was having a special that upgrades our company to First Class for free (until the end of the year). I'm excited, they have an airport spa in London and you can get free facials, massages, etc. It is a direct flight from Phoenix to London, so that is nice too. I am just going to try to watch my portions and make healthy selections and that is pretty much all I can do! And I leave a couple days after I get back to Mexico which is usually a margarita-fest (although we are taking the kids this time, so I won't be drinking that much :rolleyes1 )...

:furious: Thats just not fair!

Not only are you flying to London - you're flying first class! With free facials! You sure know how to get the perks.

Great job on using fat free brownies. I used to have a recipe where I used applesauce to make brownies but I've lost it. I felt like it was a healthy alternative to give my kids when they were small.

Amy, I wanted to make sure to catch up on your journal before you left on your trip! You are doing great and will have a wonderful time in the UK! First Class will be AWESOME!!!! How very lucky, especially for such a long flight! They will give you all the little water bottles you want too! :teeth:

Don't worry about the food on your trip either. It has been too many years since I was in the UK (before DD12 was born so +13 years), but I remember having a conversation with one of our local sales rep's about how everything in the US was "supersized." He was saying that he actually ate healthier in the UK than he did when visiting the US, and he was right. I had fruit and cheese and salads and the portions were all very reasonable. You can bring some of your almond packs as emergency snacks too, if you need them.

Finally, have a great dinner out with DH tonight and have a wonderful, wonderful trip!

P.S. Chicken Las Vegas sounds good. I'm always looking for new crockpot recipes that the kids will eat.

It does not seem possible that it is October already! Where has the year gone?!?! I leave tonight, I am excited and a little nervous since I am traveling alone. I'll be fine once I get to my final destination and meet up with my boss (that's after a 2hr taxi ride from London). My pre-trip weight this morning was 137. My goal is to still be in the 130's when I weigh myself next Sat. Hopefully I won't disappoint myself! We ate out twice in 2 days, I am surprised I managed to go down a pound. But I'll take it! I want to get to the gym today, but there are tons of other things that need to get done first (laundry, groceries, packing, etc). So we'll see! On Friday I drank 100oz of water and 4 martinis :rolleyes1 :

6:15am: Egg Beaters w/Yellow Pepper; Fiber Cake
8:30am: 3 Egg Whites; SF Blueberry Applesauce
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, cheese, yellow pepper, LF dressing); Cucumber
3:00pm: Low Carb Yogurt
5:30pm (@Outback): 2 small pieces Bread-n-Butter; Queensland Salad; 3 Brownies (they're small, but oops...)
7:30pm: Oatmeal Cookie Crunch Ice Cream on Sugar Cone (single)
9:45pm: Trail Mix (3/4c) - we had "surprise company"
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: More brownies (yes, apparently 3 wasn't enough), Macaroons

Sat I drank 80oz water, 16oz iced tea, 16.9oz Diet Green Tea:
9:45am: Oatmeal (1/4c); Apple (1/2); Raisins (1tbsp); Stevia & Cinnamon; Skim Milk (1/2c)
1:30pm (@Tia Rosa): 15 Chips-n-Salsa (at least I counted them out!); Salmon Taco; Shrimp Taco; Brownie
6:15pm: Celery-n-PB; Macadamia Nut Halves (30)
7:30pm: Steak (5oz); Cauliflower; SF Jello; Brownie
WORKOUT: Weights (30min); Treadmill (35min)
RESISTED: Trail Mix; Macaroons (DH better eat those while I'm gone!)

Jane, we were going to load the kids up with brownies (get them all hopped up on sugar) before they left for their dad's but we forgot! That would have been awesome... Maybe next time!

Anna, I hope I can behave while on this trip. Not only am I worried about the food, but the pub action after work... The good thing is that I won't be able to snack on junk since I won't have it in front of me all the time!

I am taking my laptop, I might be able to WISH a couple times, but if not, I'll chat with everyone when I get back next weekend!

Hi Amy
Sorry i didnt get to say 'bon voyage' before you left!
Wishing you a safe & swift journey over here, hope the sun comes out for you too :)

Amy, congrats on losing that pound! (Note to self: drink martinis for weight loss purposes). I think you did great while eating out, I have decided that eating out 2 times a week is a way of life for me so I need to do what you do, and survive it! Have a great trip, can't wait to hear all about it. "See" you when you get home!

I made it safe and sound!!! I made the mistake of sleeping a little on the plane. Now it is 10pm and I am wide awake. Hopefully I will get to sleep within the next couple hours and be OK tomorrow. My boss said he thinks I will wake up at 3am. I am going to prove him wrong! I ate SO much on the plane, I feel like a huge balloon. I put on the pajamas they provided and this morning (afternoon) I was worried my pants wouldn't go back on... Then I come here and meet up with my boss and of course we go out to eat. I am SO STUFFED right now it's really bad. But I am going to make myself behave starting tomorrow. There is a gym here in the hotel and I will be sure to go there (or take a nice walk, there are tons of trails around here) every day. I have to do something or they will have to store me in the cargo hold on the way home! I found out that we will be on London around 2:30pm on Thursday (at the latest, if we get done early, we will get there earlier) so that leaves lots of time for sightseeing! My boss already said that he will go with me to anywhere I want to go, so that is pretty cool. I'll try to check in as I can (since I have to check my work e-mail anyway). I didn't bring my food journal so I can't remember all I ate yesterday, but last night in the lounge at the airport I had a rum-n-DC and 12oz Mineral Water, 2 ginger cookies and 3 crisps w/Cheddar. On the plane I had 3 unknown appetizers, a spinach-feta tart, roasted veggie bisque and coconut chicken curry w/rice (barely ate any rice) and some veggie mix, 1 roll w/butter and cheesecake. And I wonder why I am STILL stuffed...

Today I've had maybe 8oz water, 2 glasses white wine, 12oz Hot Chocolate and a Malibu-n-Coke:

B/L (on plane): Cinnamon Bun, Meusli (large bowl), Scrambled Eggs (1/2c); Mushrooms, Tomato, Toast (1/4 piece)
D: Grilled Ciabatta Bread (1 thin piece), Meat Lasagne (huge piece); Mixed Greens; Apple-n-Rhubarb Pie
WORKOUT: None (unless you count lugging my body weight in baggage around 2 airports)
RESISTED: Nothing...

Tracey, it rained a little when I first arrived, then the sun came out and it was very nice. What a beautiful country you live in!

Amy, I can tell I have gained that lb back and then some. I just hope the new pants I bought this weekend still fit... :rolleyes1

Jane, so far so good, I can't wait until I get to explore London later this week!

Hi there, its good to hear from you from so far away! Hey, I think when you cross the International Date Line all the food you ate that day disappears because its confused and doesn't know what else to do! Seriously, don't worry, better to start off bad and make a comeback then blow it at the end, right before you come home and weigh! In any case thats great you will have time to sightsee, I really envy you. Say hi to the Queen for me and have fun!

Amy,

Sounds like you're beginning a fabulous trip! Hope you get lots of good sight-seeing time, and your work isn't too difficult!

Looking forward to hearing about your adventures. :sunny:
