AmyM's Quest for a Better Bikini Body!

I'm saying you guys really know how to party! And you must have strong livers, I really have a hard time keeping up with all the cocktails!!! :goodvibes

Its because of the depressing weather here, we need to keep cheerful ;)

Hope your DS recovers quickly bless him.
It made me shudder reading what he'd had done!!:scared:

Hope your DS is feeling better soon! The dentist is the worst!!! (that's just my opinion!!)
Also congrats to him on making the majors!! That's awsome! A friend of mine's son is in competitive baseball and he has to try out every year. He hasn't been on the "good" team yet, but he's getting there!

Also congrats on the loss last week, and getting/staying on track....(minus Sunday....I think Sunday did alot of us in!)
I can't wait to get to 139!....or even 140!!!!

Great job Amy...keep it up!!
marie

WORKOUT: Treadmill @ 4.6mph (steadily increasing it!) for 45min

Totals: 1185cal, 39g fat, 123g carbs, 99g protein, 28g fiber

All in all, yesterday was a success! I really didn't want to work out, but I did go and was glad I did. I plan on going today after work, since my ex is picking up the kids tomorrow and I rarely make it to the gym after coming home. And DH mentioned that we haven't been to Outback Happy Hour in a while... :goodvibes

I have stayed off the scale all week! Tomorrow is weigh-in, I hope I don't get upset if I am back in the 140's. Most of the bloating from Sunday's food fest is gone, but I still have no idea if I've erased all the damage. I don't think it will be that bad of a weigh-in, but I will have to wait and see...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracey, yes, your weather would drive me to drink too! I actually got lightheaded when they started pulling his teeth out, which is weird since I can watch live surgery and everything else on TV! I guess it's different when it's your own child (I actually passed out when DD had to get stitches in her chin a couple years ago!)
Marie, I think the dentist being the worst is a fact, not an opinion... :rolleyes: DS was so drugged up he didn't know what was going on. He was singing and annoying his sister like usual this morning, so I think he'll be fine! I never thought I'd get up to 140, but getting old has not been kind to me! :scared:
Great day! I admire you for continuing with those workouts with all that's going on. You're making me question if reaching for multiple slices of cheesecake wasn't the best choice of action to deal with my stress! :eek: ;) There just may be something to this exercise thing! Hope DS continues to feel better. Let us know how weigh-in goes tomorrow and have a great weekend!
Amy, so glad ds did well with his dental procedure. I still rememer getting 11 teeth pulled when I was about his age. That's funny about his heartrate being like yours. You are doing so well, the working out and eating right must make you feel so good about yourself (wish I could say the same). Keep up your good work, I hope it works out to get your dh and kids out to Germany in May that would be a great experience for you all! Good luck with the WI tomorrow, I am betting you will be very happy!
Hi Amy,
Sounds like you're continuing to do well. Keep it up!
Poor ds, glad that's over, I hate going to the dentist. My DS has to get a crown soon where he had a root canal, and several other cavitities. Yikes. I guess that more than anything will convince my teen that he needs to take care of his teeth!
Have a good weekend!:)
WORKOUT: Elliptical (45min)
Totals: 1308cal, 36g fat, 127g carb, 124g protein, 24g fiber
Weigh in this morning was 138!!!!!! :banana: :banana: :yay: :yay: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :thumbsup2 I couldn't believe it, I was SO excited!!!!! I don't know if it is my new workout routine or what, but I'll take it! I am finally back to my starting WISH weight (from 20 months ago... :confused3 ). I had been stuck at 141-142 since October, I am glad to finally have busted through that barrier, YIPPEE!!!!! I am also going to continue to weigh myself only once a week, I think mentally it helps me behave more and not focus on what the scale says so much.
My good news started yesterday, I have been checking Southwest Airlines every day to see when they would release tickets for July. Yesterday morning was the first day, and I scored 4 tickets to MI for under $700! And just for grins I checked the same tickets last night (exact same days and flights) and it had gone up to $1472! :eek: So I was pretty darn pleased with myself!! Now if I can get the same kind of deal for when we go to Orlando next Dec, I will really be tickled!!
We will most likely go to Outback either today or tomorrow. Usually we split a meal and an appetizer and I will be sure to include the calories from 2 martinis in my totals!! I don't want to blow my losing streak.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CJK, did you hear me screaming as I jumped on and off the scale 3x this morning? Trust me, no matter how well I am doing, I will always blow it when cheesecake is involved...

Amy, you have me beat, I thought it was bad that I had to have 8 pulled at that age! And I do feel pretty awesome right now, I am finally not stressing out about food or going to the gym or what my weight is and I think that really makes life so much easier.

Kate, thanks! I also hate the dentist. I have had a sensitive tooth ever since they put a crown on last July and I still refuse to go to the dentist because I'm sure they'll want to do a root canal. I've never had one before and I really don't want to find out what they are like!

:cool1: :banana: :woohoo:
Way to go Amy - i'm sooo jealous & also sooo pleased for you :goodvibes
Great deal on the airline tickets :)
Has DS (& you!!) recovered??
Have a great wekend

Hi Amy, CONGRATULATIONS :yay: :yay: :yay: on you weigh in! That is awesome news, we are all proud of you! And great news on the airfare, don't you love it when that happens. Hopefully you will get good airfare in December too. Thats a great time to go, are you still thinking CBR? Outback is a fave of dh and mine's. Two for one drinks generally makes us happy campers! Have a great weekend, keep up your good work. And send some of that determination out to CO, I need all the help I can get!

WORKOUT: None

Totals: 1912cal, 46g fat, 129g carb, 104g protein, 33g fiber

I know the totals are WAY out there! 1279cal was from food, 633cal was from the 4 (yes, 4) martinis... :rolleyes1 DH and I split a steak and I had the broccoli side (no butter). Miraculously I am not bloated or anything this morning, so hopefully I didn't do too much damage. Besides, whatever I did do will most likely be gone by next Friday's weigh-in!!! :goodvibes

Today I'm going to Muscle class, then we are running some errands. DH wants to get a new vacuum to go with the new carpet... :rolleyes: Other than that, there is really nothing planned, so I should have no problems behaving. I already put today's meals into FitDay, that really helps me stay in control on the weekends.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracey, thanks! DS is absolutely fine, you'd never even know he had those teeth pulled. I told DH that the next time one of the kids had to have something like that done, he'd have to go since obviously I can't handle it! :faint:
Amy, usually I am on the other end of the airfare - I get stuck with the most expensive ones! Southwest also flies direct from Phoenix to Orlando, so when it gets closer I will have to check every morning to see if I can get another good deal. Might be tough around the holidays though... Yes, we are staying at CBR. As for the motivation, that has to come from within. You CAN do it!!!!!
. DH wants to get a new vacuum to go with the new carpet... :rolleyes:
:rotfl: That is so funny! My DH wanted to do the same thing when we got new carpet years ago! Gotta have the right accessories (new TV, new vacuum) to go with the new carpet! ;)
Great job on weigh-in this week, Amy! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:
I'm glad to hear that your DS is feeling good! Dentists scare me!:scared1:
Have a great evening!:goodvibes
WORKOUT: Muscle Class (60min)
Totals: 1770cal, 79g fat, 159g carb, 115g protein, 34g fiber :sad2:
I don't know what happened, I was doing fine until I got into the trailmix (I estimated 1/2c which is 512cal!). I didn't eat a bunch of junk not on my FitDay plan, but the one indiscretion I had was extremely high in calories! :worried: But at least it is mostly nuts, so it's not like I ate a gallon of ice cream or something... So I got my weekly splurge out of my system and there is plenty of time to "recover" before Friday's weigh-in. :thumbsup2
Today's plan is going to Total Body Conditioning, then to the grocery store, then doing laundry and cleaning all day. Really exciting stuff...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, thanks! After we get the new vacuum, I think we are done with the "new" living room! Now DH wants to redo the kitchen... :confused3

Amy - step away from the trail mix (sound familiar?) ;)
Hope you had a great weekend, 4 martinis!!! of course you had a great weekend lol :)

Congrats on the airfare, Amy! Hopefully it will go down even more as it gets closer - then you'll have credit left and have to go again!!!!!

Glad the dentist went OK for DS.

Stay AWAY from the Trail mix! FAR, FAR AWAY!!

Have a great week! I'll be back when I return from FL!! (or maybe before!!)

You are right that your one indiscretion was a better no no than ice cream. Gotta celebrate life's small victories! Have you ever thought of forbidding trail mix to come to your house? That stuff is so hard to resist, I saw it at Sams on Friday, they had samples and it was so yummy. You did well at Outback, and you earned those martinis! Its that two for one thing, you gotta have even numbers! Sounds like you had a good weekend, keep up your good work. And I can see that your Friday only weigh in is a good thing for you as you have such a good attitude about having plenty of time before the scale. Thats great, keep it up!

WORKOUT: Total Body Conditioning Class (60min)

Totals: 1316cal, 44g fat, 133g carb, 94g protein, 18g fiber

A much better day yesterday, although I really struggled to not snack in the afternoon. But I made it through and lived to tell about it! :yay: I can feel PMS creeping up again (blast this 21 day cycle!!! :mad: ) but I am not going to let it get me down. I know that any bloating this next week will go away after TOM does, so I'm not going to sweat the small stuff or use it as an excuse to stray.

We did decide on a new vacuum, it is a Riccar 8955. Pretty darn expensive but it has a 5 year warranty, got good reviews (better than Dyson) and one of our friends has had his for 7 years and still loves it. Our tax refund should be in this week, so we (or should I say DH :lmao: ) will have to wait until then...

Today I will go to the gym for cardio only, my poor muscles need a break from those weekend classes! Next week I will be in Germany Tue - Sat, I need to figure out a way to behave. Last trip I didn't gain any weight, so I know it IS possible! I'll be thinking of my plan of attack and post it as the trip gets closer...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracey, usually I can avoid the trail mix, but if I have even one little taste, it's over. I'm weak, what can I say? :confused3
Julie, thanks and have a great trip!
Amy, trail mix is one food item DH just can't live without. I've successfully gotten rid of all the other junk in the house, and the poor man never asks for anything, so I have to let him have it. It is ALWAYS in the house. If I avoid it altogether, I'm fine. It's when I think I can have a little handful that causes the problem (1 turns into 2, 2 turns into 3, which is about 500 cal!). I'm sure I'll do fine all week, I got it out of my system and I would LOVE to see 137 on the scale this Friday! I lost a pound after the buffalo chicken dip incident last week, and the trail mix incident was much less destructive, so I can at least hope!!
First off CONGRATS on finally breaking the 140's barrier and keeping the numbers going down from there. Also major kudos on breaking the scale habit - I know how tough that is and you did it! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
You have all the pieces together now. You are doing great! You'll figure out Germany. Like you said, you did it before. That would be really awesome if your family could fly out for your May trip. What a wonderful vacation you could have. We went with DH to Italy a couple of years ago (gotta love those FF miles!). The experience was priceless.
WORKOUT: Treadmill @ 4.7mph (35min)
Totals: 1235cal, 31g fat, 136g carb, 117g protein, 36g fiber :banana:
RANT: My body hates me!!!!!! :mad: I can't believe I actually felt "normal" for 2 weeks, then literally in 24 hours I went from feeling fine to a jiggly bowl of jello. My ring is too tight, my socks leave marks on my ankles, my pants don't fit right... :sad: :sad: :sad: I am completely exhausted, my "girls" hurt, my face is breaking out, I have horrible food cravings, I'm just SICK OF IT!!!!! I only get 2 weeks off at a time. Then I get a week of this miserable existence, then I get 2-3 days of spotting, then the cycle starts all over. It is just so depressing and the older I get, the worse it gets. This is all within the past year. And there is absolutely NOTHING I can do about it. :sad1: :sad2:
I am going to try to make it through this week the best I can, without blowing my eating healthy. I get pretty depressed during this time, but I have to tell myself not to beat myself up, that it's nothing I've done (no, I couldn't have eaten better or worked out more to avoid the bloating) and going off the deep end with food will hurt me in the long run. Now I am glad I don't weigh myself every day, because I know that would make things worse. Although I won't be surprised to see a gain on Fri, I will be sad...
OK, the pity party is over. Today is a much needed break from working out. I should go tomorrow and Thursday (since I won't be going Fri). I need to get DH a card on the way home tonight (I'm such a procrastinator!). We had our Valentines dinner last Fri at Outback (hey, the martinis were pink and red!). DD has tap, but lately DH has been taking her (he likes reading the magazines at the grocery store next to the dance studio while he's waiting!), so we'll see what happens tonight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anna, thanks! I certainly hope I can scrape up enough FF miles for the spring Germany trip. How fun would that be (except DH and the kids would be exploring all day while I was working...). I'd definitely have to tack a couple days vacation on the end of the trip.

:hug: Amy,

I hope you start feeling better soon.:goodvibes Try and take it easy today. Enjoy your rest day from working out.:goodvibes
