In June we are spending 5 nights at the POP and then going to use my parents condo in Delray Beach. I am considering taking the Amtrak instead of going through the hassle of renting and returning the car just to use it for a day, (we will be using my parents car, while also using there condo :sunny: ) so I thought for an adventure, we'd take the train. I know where the train station is in Delray and will arrange for a pick up there, but am unsure of the Amtrack station in Orlando. Should we do the Kississimee, Winter Park or Orlando station. MapQuest isn't much help. So I need some help from the "Locals". thanks.

We come from the north and have detrained at both Orlando and Kissimmee stations. Personally we prefer Kissimmee. Its closer and cheaper cab wise for us than Orlando. Also, about 80% of Disney travelers get off at Orlando and that makes that station a crowded zoo plus searching for your luggage. When we detrain in Kissimmee, only about 10 people get off and its a quick trip for your bags, few cabs in a line or station master will call one for you and its the same for our return trip, alot less hassle and people.

We will be doing a one way from Orlando area to south Flordia. I will be loading bags, so I'm thinking Kissimmee is better right? Any clue on how much a cab would be?

Either station would work, depends which you are closer to. Its just Kissimmee station is less crowded and do have baggage facilities. We take a cab from the Kissimmee station to the Magic Kingdom resort area and the fare is about 38.00. One trip we took a cab from Pop Century to Orlando train station and the fare was 68.00, this was due to hurricane Wilma shutting down the Kissimmee station so depending on what area of Disney you're catching a cab from and destination determines the cab fare. You can inquire at the bell service area of your resort and ask them the estimated rate, they should know. Hopes this helps and and a magical vacation and a great train experience, we love the train.
