Amtrak riders - how much to tip Redcap?

For those of you who ride Amtrak and use Redcaps, how much do you tip them? Do you tip per bag, per person, or a flat amount? I'm totally clueless as to what's appropriate.

We never used a Redcap when it was just the two of us, but we are taking our first trip with DD this weekend and between her stroller and the extra bag for her stuff we've decided we'll need one.

Try posting your question on the transportation board. I have received good advice regarding various Amtrak questions from the "rail" folks on that aboard. I am sorry I do not know the answer to your question.

Whenever I use bell service at a hotel I always tip at least $1 per bag or a minimum of $5....so with a redcap I would do the same thing.
