Hi all,

This summer we are doing a split trip starting with a couple of days at Universal Studios, and then moving on to the bulk of our trip which will be at WDW. We have decided to take Amtrak both ways to get to FL.

I am trying to decide which of the FL stations would be better to arrive into and depart from. I have heard advice saying that it is easier to depart from Kissimmee because that station is less crowded, but is that accurate?

Since we're first going to be going to Universal would be we better off arriving into the Orlando station? Is that the closer station to Universal Studios?

Similarly, since we'll be departing from WDW, is the Kissimmee station the closer one to those resorts? WOuld that then be the right place to leave from?

I have been googling maps, and this seems like it shouldn't be so hard to figure out, but I'm stressing so I thought I'd appeal to the experts for help. Thank you so much for any you can offer!

We just did a split stay in May and arrived via Amtrak as well. We arrived and departed from the Orlando station and had no problems at all. I didn't think it was too crowded.
I've never been to the Kissimmee station so I can't comment on that.
Once we arrived at the Orlando station we had Tiffany Town cars bring us to the POFQ. The last part of our stay was at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal and the same car company brought us back to the Orlando station for our return trip home.

I read of others using the Kissimmee station with no problems either. I think you'd be fine with either one.

How would you be getting to the resorts from Amtrak? I read from some people stating they though limo/town car companies don't go to Kissimmee. Not sure if that's true or not - you could always ask them. I talked with a couple that will transport from the Orlando station.

We arrive at Orlando...and Depart at Kissimmee...We have no wait, as it is a smaller station with only a few passengers boarding.

Thank you both!

We will be taking cabs both ways. Thanks for the heads up that I will need to confirm whether they are willing to go to Kissimmee!

We've travelled to WDW over 20 trips via Amtrak, our station by choice is Kissimmee....We've seen the guests boarding at the Orlando station....long line, hot Florida Sun.... one by one thru the train door....not very pleasant, covered in sweat to begin your trip home...

Kissimmee is 20 minutes further south, small station, very few people get off and board....We've had car services pick us up, cabs are available...and since it's closer to WDW, CAB fare is cheaper.....
