Amsterdam information.

I'm off to Amsterdam in 10 days time. I've never been before and would welcome any suggestions. I've found loads of places I would like to visit but have to narrow it down. Any recommendations (suitable for children) would be really welcome.

Canal boat trip
Rembrant (or is it Van Gogh?) Museum
Bloomen Market (Floating flower market)
Dam Square
Anne Franks house
Visit a Diamond centre

If you have the time, I would *strongly* recommend a visit to De Efteling Park, an amazing themepark based on fairytales with some truly great rides which can even match the magic of Disney

Okay, I haven't been there yet, but i REALLY want to go. Every Efteling visitor I have talked to seems to have loved it. The park has tons of stuff for kids to do, so it would be worthy of a visit if you have a day to spare

Efteling however closes after Sunday 27th October for the Winter.

P.S. I'm not sure about taking your children to Anne Frank's House, a friend of mine has just came back from Amsterdam and she said it was quite a sad and upsetting atmosphere in there, lots of people crying

Thanks for the suggestions. Efteling looks beautiful but I don't think we will have time.

...... I have been to Efteling and it is quite a distance from Amsterdam - we didn't go to Amsterdam but from Hook Van Holland drove directly to Efteling so I'm afraid I cannot help with your question Tracy.
