Has anybody used this in lieu of the actual paper Traveler's Cheque? Does anybody know if it can be used all over Disney?

I have been considering getting one myself. I know they are excepted anywhere you can use the amex card, which can be used all over disney property. Susan

I would like to know this also. I've always used paper AMEX chk's and having this in their place would be great.

There was another thread about this card over on the Tips board recently. Some have posted that there could be a fee involved for using at ATM's. I don't have any experience with these myself but I am also interested in how these work.

I would not use it like an ATM card. I would use it like a Traveler's Cheque. I would think that if the resort could scan your credit card, they should be able to scan this. I called Disney to ask, but they were clueless and had no idea what it was. I would like to be able to avoid the paper format if I can. I hate to have to carry that much with me all day long. I certainly would not be leaving that kind of money in the room, even if there is a safe. Hopefully as the time nears for my vacation, it will be a more familiar payment method and somebody at Disney will know if they can give you cash from it.

AAA sells a similar card- its a prepaid Visa Card called the Visa TravelMoney Card. It costs $4.95 for members- you can use it at merchants and at ATM's. It's $2.50 for each ATM withdrawl. You have to put a minimum of $250 on it initially. You can just go into a AAA office and you get the card immediatly right there.

The Amex TravelFunds card is $14.95 to purchase. You have to put at least $300 on it initially. I'm not sure how much Amex charges you for each ATM withdrawl.

FYI- both AAA and Disney are affiliated w/Visa now, no longer with American Express. (You can use Amex products at WDW of course, though).
