Amex ticket deal worth it?

So they are offering the ticket deal right now for certain dates where you get a 2, 3 or 4 day park to park ticket with VIP express pass for X amount depending on when you go. For us, we only planned on doing one day (both parks) but were debating getting the express passes. Anyway for the 2 day pass offered through Amex, for a family of five, we would be paying about $1050 w/tax vs. the one day pass with the add on of the regular express pass for approx. $850. Is it worth it to have the xtra day? Don't really want to stay on site for one night since it involves a lot of moving around and we aren't going during a super busy time. I'm not even sure if we need to get the express pass at all since we are going the first week of May.
What do you think?

You will certainly not need it for the first week in May. Don't waste your money. Just get a normal ticket and get to the parks at opening.

i wouldn't buy them.

if you go during the week, especially t-w-th, you won't be facing crowds.
no need for express passes

first week of May doesn't carry the crowds.
avoid saturdays.

Thanks for the advice. We do plan on going during a week day (not Friday) so hopefully we will be all set. It is a lot of extra money to spend if not necessary. What's the best strategy for seeing most of HP if not staying on site?

Get to the parks by 8:30. They often open at 8:45. Head straight to Wizarding World. Do Ollivander's first if the line isn't too long. You'll have no problems at all seeing the whole thing. It is just one area.
