Today I did my 3 $25 loads after my 3 cards were activated.
Just got an email that I am not getting the $50 bonus as the offer is non transferable and intended for the recipient of offer

Anyone else get this? Any way around it?

Just got this too! Oh well I wanted for her for a long time!

That stinks!

I just got the email, as well. I knew it was too good to be true. I am glad I didn't put the other $25 on there yet. I will just use them to order some things from Amazon instead. I wonder if this means the $3.50 monthly fee is also not being waived?

I got two different advertisements in the mail for a 25 bonus on the pass, but after seeing the pass50 on here I used that. When I went on the amex site it was advertised right there pass50 for extra 50 bonus, so I used that code instead of the pass25fall I was offered. I just did this on Wednesday. I've not gotten an email from them about it not being valid and they did take the 25 out of my checking account today. I just don't see how they can take it away when it was right there on their website. Did you not see it when you went to the site to sign up?

Since you got a mailing you were considered a recipient of an offer...not sure if they will give you 50 since your offer was 25

Alot of non AMEX cardholders did it without being offered and that is what they are looking into.

The link that was posted on here had the advertisement about the 50 dollar bonus, apparently that website was on the mailings. If you go to the regular PASS website it only advertises the waived fee.

I just reloaded my card today so I suspect I will be getting the email soon. I had read earlier on another board that they were catching the new orders and canceling them letting them know they weren't eligible off the bat. I was hoping those who already gotten them would slip by.:rotfl:

No biggie, I knew it was a gamble to begin with. My girls will be just as happy with 50.00 cards with their names and pictures on them :thumbsup2

Makes perfect sense to me.

AMEX intended the bonus for those who received the mailing, not the 'general population'.

Anyone who just used the code because it was shared really shouldn't be upset with AMEX about it. It wasn't theirs to use.

Oh and just to add, on some of the other boards there were people ordering multiple cards under ficticious kids, like 9-12 cards. It's no wonder Amex isn't going to honor the promotion, after all they are out to make money not give it away.

The abbreviation PIN stands for Personal Identification Number and is assigned to one particullar person. If that persdon does not use the PIN, it is not valid for anyone else.

There have been people who have tried to use a PIN at Disney for discounted rooms and when they came to check in found they had to pay full rack rate as the offer had not been made to them.

So if you use a PIN intended for someone else, whether or not they use it you can not get the benefit.

I'm not quite sure what PIN has to do with it, it was a generic code, Pass50, printed on a website.

I got the e-mail also. I had reloaded mine already too. I guess I will just use the cards myself to buy groceries or something that I spend on anyway. I would rather just give me kids cash if there is no bonus.

Exactly! It was a risk to take:rolleyes1

YEP!!!:thumbsup2

How long after reloading did you get the email saying you weren't getting the bonus? I reloaded mine yesterday afternoon (using my AmEx card) and it shows that I have a $50 balance now and no email yet. Hope this means I'm good. *crosses fingers* :goodvibes

I got a mailer but not sure of the pin code since I threw it away, then when I researched the Pass cards I decided to buy them for my kids so I used the code online. So now I'm not sure if I'll get the bonus or what! Did anyone actually get the extra $50 yet? I wonder how long it takes. There are so many people on other budget boards who take advantage and ruin deals for everyone else. The offer said "good for 3 children" and people were bragging about order 18-24 cards! No wonder companies have to stop these offers.

That's exactly what happened to me. I hope they go by your address because we really did get the mailing. I just didn't think it was something I was interested in until someone mentioned gifting it for Christmas.

When did you all get the email? I haven't gotten it yet...:( I am an Amex cardholder though I did not get the mailer...but I never get those things. I also only ordered 1 card... Maybe they'll let it slide. LOL We'll see.

This does annoy me a little because people did call amex & were told that it didn't matter as long as they entered the code. Either honor it or don't...but don't say one thing then do another. No matter the outcome, it didn't cost us anything to try. Paid $50 for a $50 gift card. No harm no foul. :goodvibes

I was hoping for the bonus but not expecting it. The no fee for a year is what caught my eye. I got them for dh and myself to help get us on a budget. I've been wanting to do this for a while but didn't want to pay a monthly fee this will be great even if it's just for a year. Although the bonus would have been really nice.

I'm one of those people who called prior to ordering and told them that I found the code on the internet and could I use it...I was told as long as the code was put in when I ordered the card, I would get the bonus. I just reloaded mine a couple of days ago and haven't gotten the email so we will see. But if not, I haven't lost anything.

There were some skeptics pretty early on about if everyone could do this, so I knew going in that it might not work. However, I still may add another $50 if I can swing it. I havent gotten the cards yet (I ordered 2, one for each DD), but I did order them with their pics on them, and you know teens, they would rather have money anyway. Instead of getting a $50 gas gift card for one DD and a $50 undecided gift card for the other, I'll just put the $50 each on these.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I mean, AMEX would go bankrupt if this was open to the general public and people are buying upwards of 30 cards. They would actually lose money with each card sold. So I'm not upset. I hope the girls like the whole "gift card with your pic on it".
