Just got this card and have already racked up $57 in rewards. Anyone else have this card? Groceries at 6% and gas at 3% seem to be pretty good. Only deal breaker is that you cash out at @25 increments, so $49.50 and you can only take $25 and the 50 cents needed will let you cash out next time.

Thought on the card? Is this your primary card?

LOVE amex-but can't bring myself to have any credit card that comes with a fee for membership so I opt for another of their products. I don't mind the $25 increment rule b/c it's still better than having to wait an entire year for a reward coupon that I have to schlep to Costco to cash in but hey-when I called and told amex I wasn't interested in getting transferred to Costco's new visa company, they were nice enough to transfer all the reward dollars I'd earned on the Costco amex card since the last certificate issuance onto my other amex card as a credit:thumbsup2

I've had this card for almost two years and I love it. It's my primary card for groceries, gas and department stores. In addition to groceries, I used it to buy gift cards like Amazon, Starbucks and Target since I get the 6% cashback on those too plus the fuel rewards. It's a better discount than many of the grey market gift card resellers like Raise offer and I don't have to worry where the gift card came from.

Don't forget to check out the Amex offers that are available with the card. In the less than two years I've had the card I've racked up $345 in statement credits using Amex offers. This more than covers the two years of annual fees I've paid so far. Plus the over $600 I've earned just using it mainly for groceries and gas. I also have the Costco Amex and had a JetBlue Amex. The better offers seem to come with the cards with the annual fees.

I didn't realize you could only cash out in $25 increments. I haven't cashed anything out yet. I just like watching the savings grow for now. My plan is to cash out for a statement credit to cover any of the expenses for our January 2017 trip that I can't cover with discounted Disney gift cards.

I love this card. I only use it for groceries and gas. For everything else I use my citbank 2% card or one of my rotating categories cards. The 6% back on groceries more than pays for the fee. I put the first $75 I get back each year for the next year's fee, and then I cash out the rest for fun stuff!

I got this card about a little less than 2 months ago, so my rewards haven't shown up yet...should be this coming statement. However, I thought the rewards $ go directly toward your balance? So, you can actually cash out? Really, it's all the same...

Like a PP, I have been using it to purchase GCs when Kroger has its 4X fuel points. I also use it for my $185 prescription. I don't know for sure that it will get credited, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

The new Costco Visa gives 4% on gas, so I'm likely to only use this AMEX for groceries and department stores.

It's one of my top two cards. I max out the $6,000 in grocery spending every year--mainly on gift cards.

The offers are good but I feel like they aren't nearly as good as they used to be.

I like watching it grow and also plan on cashing out for our next Disney trip.

It seems like you can only get a statement credit for when you decide to redeem. I'll prob just get a Disney GC at a grocery store for the redemption amount before we go. That will give me a 6% return on my redemption.
