Amerisuites, Comfort Suites, or Homewood Suites??

I've always stayed on-site before, but am going to venture off-site for my next trip. (The lure of free breakfast, suite accomodations, and loss of EE at Disney properties has finally swayed me to ask why I pay so much money to stay on-site!) Anyway, I've found 3 that look promising, and I don't know which one to pick. Any comments on the following hotels would be great as far as cleanliness, newness, location, etc. I can get all of them for just around $60 a night.

Amerisuites - Lake Buena Vista South
Comfort Suites Maingate
Homewood Suites Maingate

If you know of any others that I'd like in this price range, I'd certainly like to hear about those, too.

Hi,

I Would like any feedback on the Amerisuites too please. I just cancelled my res for Comfort Inn and booked Amerisuites for $44.50. How far is it from Downtown Disney as i was originally planning to walk to there from Comfort Inn when going out at night. I know the walkings out of the Question know but just wondering what the cab fare would be like?

I have never taken a cab in Orlando, but the Amerisuites is just south of the downtown Disney area, and it can only be about 2-4 miles. Amerisuites is just off 535, and you head North on 535, again just a few miles and you are there.
I stayed at the sister hotel, Country Inn and Suites last May.
You must not be renting a car, and I would recommend that if you are staying offsite, unless it is just a night or two.
We found our rental car more than paid for itself by avoiding the intial shuttle/taxi/towncar fee to and from the airport, plus any taxi trips in between. I did not use the shared shuttle between Amerisuites and Country Inn and Suites, but when I pointed out to DH that it probably made many stops other than our hotel, he said to heck with that.
Rented a car for 10 days for 230.37 including all fees, taxes, etc.

Took the advice some of you have offered and booked our stay at the Amerisuites for our next trip. Looking forward to experiencing a new place - we have driven by the entrance to Calypso Cay a few times, just have never ventured down the road - it will be our turn next time. Thanks for the recommendations.
